Mister Gowdy, the reasons you cited for stepping out of politics are EXACTLY the reasons the American people need you to remain.
I have long said that the phrase "The ends justify the Means" is one of if not the most dangerous beliefs in the world. It allows you to do anything without guilt if you believe it.

Sad he is leaving because Trey gets it. It is about the process and most of our elected officials have forgotten that. I wish him the best and know he will be valuable to whatever job he holds.
He is one of the worst losses to our country in decades ! This man has more public welfare at heart and honesty in an elected position then anyone I can remember......He is also one of the smartest speakers and Americans we got in DC and him leaving makes me sad.....I would love to see him run for POTUS after Trump retires from office......

I would love to see Trey Gowdy our Attorney General. Jeff Sessions is a nice man but is not up to the task.
I admire Trey's honesty. He decided not to run for Congress for another term because Politics is just about winning, but to Trey, the process matters. The end does NOT justify the means in Trey's opinion, which is totally opposite of anything the Clinton's have ever done.

Many say “TERM LIMITS” then when someone does actually return home to their life and family, SO many “silly” opinions of the motive behind the choice! As someone living in his district, I'm hoping for a representative who has the courage to hold town hall meetings and who wasn't so frightened of his own constituents.

Regardless of the environment, you can count on Trey Gowdy to be respectful and factual. If you debate him with facts and supportive evidence, he listens intently and NEVER interrupts like so many who appear in the media. Also, his respect for women is an example for others to emulate and his manners make me proud of my Southern heritage. Mr. Gowdy, you will be missed in your former leadership position.

I hope S. Carolina (or any state) can find a suitable replacement for Mr Gowdy that's just as honest and intelligent as Congressman Trey Gowdy was. It'll be hard considering Trey Gowdy's outspoken "In yer face" mannerism's and strategic courtroom know how.
Trey has that good ole Southern charm and "humility" and uses it to his advantage consistently. Great man and he should run for President but I don't think he could or would stand up to the abuse.

This is the only memo interview that matters so far. Gowdy is trying very hard here to be an honest politician, so some credit given, but I would still like to see the application myself. Regarding the dossier, some has been confirmed and nothing completely disproven. So, it might be biased from Steele, but it isn't "fake". And as he says, this memo does not impact the investigation in any way.
