@T West How so? The burden of proof lies with the prosecution. How can every case be a "slam dunk" as you said? Innocent until proven guilty is still the law of the land. That doesn't seem to be the case sometimes, but I digress. I'd like to know your answer.

He acknowledges misleading the public. I expect politically connected people to dissemble and confabulate. What is astonishing is a MIT professor of economics truly believing that central planning/government control of anything let alone healthcare is a good idea. This is the most basic concept of introductory economics. I was listening to Mr. Gruber arguments and I was perplex when he said that the proposal he presented and the study he did was efficient and was working, nobody ask him if he considered the value of the human life in his equations.
Mr. Gruber cheated 316 million Americans and he was paid to do this with our tax money.
We go to war, we invent and develop the most sophisticated machines for killing life, some cost billion of dollars, however we are not able to understand and create anything close to what a live being is.
Schools should teach kids HOW to learn not WHAT to learn.
I do think that some things kids learn in schools are based on wrong science.
People that go to college are kids. People that go to college are also mindless beings and cannot think for themselve.

I disagree with Trey on one thing: Gruber meant it as a snide towards all Americans, even though it was strictly politics.
"Americans don't care about the uninsured". Not true, but Americans, on the whole, don't want a government plan to take over their insurance and force them to buy a policy they don't want, one that's got a high deductible, higher premiums, and less of what they need in order to help the uninsured.

I tend to agree with Gruber in that many of my fellow voters are stupid. Pick any random person and ask them what 'ACA' stands for. Maybe ask them who becomes President if the Pres and the VP are incapacitated...etc. My experience says most will not know these basic facts. However, my problem is with a person who helps design policy that will affect almost everybody in the country and then calls the voters stupid after it gets rammed through on false pretenses. He doesn't get that luxury, in my opinion.
I appreciate how Mr. Gruber admits to his mistakes. people do make human errors inevitably.
