Note the way how Chris points to himself when he says "These wounds, they will not heal." as though he knew that depression isn't something that just goes away with time. The world seems darker without these two great musicians.
At the end, Chester says about Chris Cornell, “He’s got the most beautiful voice.” No truer words ever spoken. To have lost those 2 artists in such a short span of time left a void in many a man’s soul, including mine. I come back to these videos to reacquaint myself with the spirit that poured out of these men. Their legacy lives on forever. Peace
They both struggled with similar demons. I'm sure it gave each of them strength when they saw each other pushing through each day and trying to stay positive. I'm sure it impacted Chester tremendously when Chris gave into his overwhelming depression. I hope all people start taking depression and mental illness more seriously and talk openly about it. I'm not sure that Chris Cornell was on the kinds of meds that would help him effectively and therapy. They were both amazing people and artists and will always be greatly missed.
Wow. Chester's a great vocalist. But Chris Cornell walks on stage and takes Chester's highest high note and looks like he's strolling in the park. Then he does harmonies on the chorus that the band probably never could have conceived. And all the while he looks like a Jedi master. The world will miss you, Chris.
The way the timbres of their voices blend together on the harmonies is (chef’s kiss). Chester’s naturally high, nasally (in a good way) voice and Chris’s full-chested baritone compliment each other so well. And the way Chris casually strolls across the stage singing the 2nd verse making it look so easy. What a legend.

I must have watched this a thousand times now. Chris singing that last harmony with Chester is beautiful, and the way they hug at the end. I love everything about that.
Every now and again, I have to come and watch this. These two brilliant musicians now gone. Breaks my heart, and I never want to forget the pain of losing them, ever.
Life is blowing by. 2030 will be here in no time and we will all be reading this wondering where the time went just like we do now with 2010. Enjoy the ride. It end before you know it.
When Chris said "Against my will I stand beside my own reflection" I felt how serious those words were especially because he was looking into Chester's eyes at the exact time
It's not depression. It's the deep state. They were exposing powerful criminals and their horrible acts against children. They were making a documentary together about it. They had plans.
Gabriel M. The ONLY argument Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington could have ever had was claiming the other one had the best voice in rock and roll.. And they'd never be wrong.

I grew up on Linkin park. I still remember being too broke to purchase their hybrid theory cd when I was in 6th grade, so I borrowed it from a friend and recorded the whole thing on tape. (People can attest to this) I would walk with my portable tape player to recess everyday and just indulge in their music. Later on, mom and pops bought me reanimation and meteora for my birthday. I was the happiest kid alive. Hearing about Chester today really broke me down. May he rest easy.
CAPS UNO dude i was like you. I recorded the LP song (Numb) using a blank cassete tapes from my local radio stations in Bali (when i was in 5th grade) and I repeated that song over and over again. such a good childhood i've ever felt.
@@willnicholson18 Stop making light of mental health. The singers in the video literally committed suicide, do you have that little common sense that you think mocking people's appearance is a good idea when you don't know what goes on in their lives?
All I can see is the real friendship they have. I love how Chester smiles while seeing Chris. I guess living in this world without your favorite person is really hard. I just feel that Chris is one of the best reasons why Chester is still living despite his misery, but when that person dies, it's like there's no point to continue life at all. It's sad that their demons consumed them. Such great artists who left us great music. I wish that people who are experiencing agony will find peace and heal themselves thru Chester's creations. Life is beautiful. Music is beautiful. And learning how artists create these masterpieces would really hit us hard and understand them deeper. I can't put into words how sad I am about Chester's passing. Most people around me wouldnt understand me. Theyd say that they are just a band. But, they saved me. They accompanied me. They healed me. They spoke the words I can't even think of. It feels like a really close friend had died. We will miss you..
nicely put! I feel the same, no one understands how you could be sad about someone you didnt personally know. But Linkin Park were part of me growing up as a teenager and I just feel so fucking sad that Chester is gone. He seemed to have such a pure soul and crazy musical and lyrical talent.. It's just heartbreaking..
Yellow Pikachu Tbh I can relate to Chester n my best friend shot him self in front of me n it took all I had & den some to not wanna do the same but if it wasn't for linkin park I would have followed suit to my best friend

This hurts so much. Chester and Chris on the same scene, for the last time. That's a special concert. I wish I was there at the time. 😢😢 R.I.P. Chris😢 R.I.P. Chester😢
Chris does such an interesting thing with his part during this song. I love how he uses his voice to actually improve the original. I wish they had done this version in the studio before they had both died
Gabriel Diamond Mr. Cornell did some amazing covers of already amazing original songs. I hope you have checked some out! Billie Jean, Nothing Compares 2 U, Thank You (Led Zepplin), and he even did some wicked performances of the music of u2's One, using the lyrics of Metallica's One. What a true artist.
The Krwling (Reanimation) chorus harmony adds the song an emotional depth to me. Who would have cast doubt on Chris' vocal range? It's just how the harmony works.
I totally agree with you. One guy disagreed with yoh saying CC couldn't hit high notes so he kept it low on purpose. That is malarkey! Jethyy obviously doesn't understand harmony. CC has, sorry, had one of the greatest range of all rock singers and lower tone was an eerie but sublime compliment to Chester's distinctive high metal vocal.
Jim Campbell Chris Cornell performed earlier that night. Everyone definitely went crazy and I remember thinking, damn Chris Cornell hung out backstage this entire time while LP did their thing just to perform Crawling with them. I think LP performed just 1 or 2 songs after. I had no idea how close Chester and Chris were at the time. I’ve seen Linkin Park in concert 5 times. Good memories.
Ryugo7 7 I can’t imagine the ecstatic energy in the room once they both started performing together. Truly a big moment in the history of Rock and roll, and you were there to see it :)

@@Ariel_thenotsolittlemermaid Those three bands are very different from one another. They actually stand as three of the most distinct sounds of the era. There where many more bands that sounded more alike. For what it's worth, the first time I heard Linkin Park on the radio I thought "Oh, another one of those..!" But I later came to appreciate their music. They did their own thing.
@@user-oy7gz5bf2h these bands don't all sound the same, it's true- but they definitely have shared elements. The kinds of guitar riffs, the vocal styles and the rhythm centric approach are all shared there- and none of these things are in LP's music. People (including you) probably thought LP was nu metal because of the scratching and raps- but that's not enough to make it nu metal. They're alt rock.
@@Ariel_thenotsolittlemermaid To me, Linkin Park will always stand as a good example of the genre and of the era. Not that they lacked personality, but they did use many of what made NuMetal what it was. Heavy music with distorted guitars, rap sections, angst centric lyrics. I could argue the other bands you named aren't the best examples of the time either. (not trying to start a fight here, I just enjoy a good discussion) Deftones have said in various interviews that they didn't really feel part of the movement. They where doing their thing before the term arose and have since changed a lot from what I would consider NuMetal. But in the end, it doesn't even matter.
Still absolutely stunned by how both of these incredibly talented legends have passed away within months of each other. But I never expected to see a duet quite like this, especially 3:29-4:42. Suicide is contrary to love for the living God. 2325 Suicide is seriously contrary to justice, hope, and charity. It is forbidden by the fifth commandment"

I guess I didn’t fully appreciate just how talented and rare chester was. Been a fan of LP’s since the beginning and didn’t realize just how good he was until he was gone.
It's this good mainly because it was not filmed on a cellphone. DV tape video cameras with optical zoom was still common in 2008 before the iPhone hit the mainstream.

I cry every time at 4:08 when they beautifully harmonize at "fear is how I fall" and now that they're both dead it's just...so fuckin haunting
dammmmmmmnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn :(((((((((
Why u gotta make me get so sad like that
Yeah it's like that amazing emotional trigger... does the same to me.
It was hauntingly beautifil.
Chesters original words were fear is powerful but he changed it after his manager wrote it that way
This video takes on a whole new meaning now :(
I must have watched this a thousand times now. Chris singing that last harmony with Chester is beautiful, and the way they hug at the end. I love everything about that.
Lewis Barrah I have watched so many times! I love this whole video!
it's like getting a knife in the heart. Hits right in the feels.
knowing their story, every detail is beautiful here :)
Me too. It's ethereal and haunting.
Every now and again, I have to come and watch this. These two brilliant musicians now gone. Breaks my heart, and I never want to forget the pain of losing them, ever.
And here i am in 2020. And I will also be here in 2030 and after listening to this hidden gem in the history of mankind's music.
😭😭😭😭😭😭
Amen brother
Life is blowing by. 2030 will be here in no time and we will all be reading this wondering where the time went just like we do now with 2010. Enjoy the ride. It end before you know it.
It really is a hidden gem right, crazy
See you all in 10 years. 🤟🏼
When Chris said "Against my will I stand beside my own reflection" I felt how serious those words were especially because he was looking into Chester's eyes at the exact time
This!
I can't believe are we living in a world without this two beautiful voices
I swear the world went dark after that.
That’s just what happens when you start making strides in fighting against child trafficking
Not true. There voices are right here. We can revisit at any time.
I loved them both so sad!!
After all those years... just2 singers you can't replace.. it hits

@@frankbourassa2456 wouldn't be a shocker if that was true. Angel's survive and don't devide
Daniel Plasencia my bad it was the other way around, Chester was godfather to Chris Cornell’s son, that’s how close they were
Same thing with Chris. Look at him pounding himself. A lot of emotions from both of them in this.
Ironic how Chris said "Against my own will, I stand by my own reflection" as he stands next to Chester.
thats the thing i think about every night
Ned Kelly The death of Chris sent him spiraling downward, depression is a horrible thing.

Do I upvote or downvote that? Agree sooo much. What a bummer.
This was absolutely legendary! Those fans are so blessed to witness pure greatness from the goats 🐐 RIP Chester and Chris, never forgotten.

Those were the good old days. Would do anything to have those simpler times back.

CAPS UNO dude i was like you. I recorded the LP song (Numb) using a blank cassete tapes from my local radio stations in Bali (when i was in 5th grade) and I repeated that song over and over again.

The happiness in Chester's face when he sees Chris fills my heart up in an unexplainable way ❤

What incredible voices and harmonies. just found this video and am so moved. The world has lost two of the best voices. RIP.
3:40 to 4:18 and onwards. That high low harmonical overlay. No words! Just some tears.
Yellow Pikachu , you said that so beautifully. I feel that way about Chris Cornell. And seeing the two so close... it just makes my heart shatter.
Amen Yellow Pikachu, sitting here crying rn.

He was doing a lot of Aaron Lewis’s part in the Crawling Remix on LP’s Reanimation.
Can you explain to me what he does that's better? It actually sounded to me like he couldn't hit the high notes so kept it low on purpose.
CC has, sorry, had one of the greatest range of all rock singers and lower tone was an eerie but sublime compliment to Chester's
distinctive high metal vocal.
This video is such a treasure, we will never forget Chester and Chris, always living in our memories
4:27 That scream is pure gold.....

I get chills on my spine when Chris and Chester start singing together. Voices we will never hear again.
Holy shit I didn’t know someone actually recorded this. I WAS THERE!!!
You sir are one luck bastard to have seen both of these legends in one place
Did everyone lose their minds when they realized in was Cornell?
Jim Campbell Chris Cornell performed earlier that night. Everyone definitely went crazy and I remember thinking, damn Chris Cornell hung out backstage this entire time while LP did their thing just to perform Crawling with them. I think LP performed just 1 or 2 songs after. I had no idea how close Chester and Chris were at the time. I’ve seen Linkin Park in concert 5 times. Good memories.
Lucky you man!
Ryugo7 7 I can’t imagine the ecstatic energy in the room once they both started performing together. Truly a big moment in the history of Rock and roll, and you were there to see it :)

It’s crazy how Chris Cornell’s voice can transfer over to Nu Metal so nicely. Chester had a phenomenal voice yet Cornell still did that song justice.
Chris is probably the best thing ever happened to music ...hail grunge
This isn't 'nu metal'... compare this song with stuff like KoRn, System Of A Down or Deftones- does it honestly sound the same to you?
