Every single review should start off with telling people not to let that biomancer touch that aurora boss. Your welcome. If you read this I just saved you 18 hours. No reviewer is being honest abouts game breaking bugs.
Thanks for dropping a comment. Some might see this as negative but to me they are the most helpful.
I try to give reviews that are the most useful when people are making buying decisions and I’ve received feedback that I’m to harsh in the past (and I tend to agree) but perhaps I went to light here.
Probably the answer is to try to do both things better and help set expectations better. So thanks for letting me know I missed the mark for you.

It was fine your review but Warhammer 40k is a hell scape and that's how it's meant to be.. life ain't fair. why should 40k be.

If they ever add an Adeptus Mechanicus origin I will probably eventually make a Heretek though he probably won't be my Adeptus Mechanicus character. unless there's an option for the Innovator type Heretek, the knowledge sharing type Heretek, or both.
I meant to say he probably won't be my first character not he probably won't be my Adeptus Mechanicus character.
I just got into WotR and immediately installed the mods to make it closer to 1E to get my TTRPG fix when the group cancels and I'm definitely grabbing RT.

It’s buggy, with some game breaking bugs. Act 4 and 5 are straight up garbage. There’s no villains in this game. Your companions aren’t companions just employees begrudgingly going to work. Heresy run has no consequences I mean come on Argenta, Heinrix, and Ulfar should just kill you on the spot. There’s almost no voice acting and some critical events and characters are done in text.

Good review, but lots of other reviews say lots of bugs. even a few game breaking ones until they got patch
Thanks Nathan, I appreciate that. And on the bugs, I’m with you, i did try to address them. Maybe I just missed the mark on this one. The good news is I have very high confidence they will fix everything that needs fixing. This isn’t a Bethesda like situation where the bugs they have at launch will be there forever.
Me loving CRPGs and also other RPGs, for years... i honestly thought CRPG means Classic Role Playing Game not Computer Role Playing Game xD... seems like learning never ends

@@Nightharrow i think Computer role playing Game is stupid aß hell xd i get IT because it used to BE tabletop or pen and paper and Computer Games were new and it makes sense but now in 2024 Most Games are on Computer so classic makes more sense imo haha
I finished my first run last night, It was a lot of fun and the Cassia romance was much sweeter then I expected from a Warhammer 40,000 story. I played a loyalist Iconoclast and I think the Iconoclast ending is absurd even for the setting.

@@Nightharrow Its good. Honestly I think you should try an Iconoclast run since IMO that's as close to a hero run as the game allows. The ideology is based around saving as many as you can, and being as fair to your subjects as possible. Its not perfect because there were a few sidequests that forced me to IMO do things that were out of character. But I think its more of a Han Solo or Mal Reynolds type rogue then the others (Though it doesn't effect your voice lines so mine often opened battles saying things that he would usually only say when much angrier then he would be at the start of most battles)
I personally would give the game a 9 out of 10 as is, and could see it getting to a 9.5 if the patches or DLCs fix some issues I had and add some features or weapons I would like to see. (I would love a way to sim ship battles so you can test loadouts for example. I once decided I did want my Torpedo Tubes so I swapped them for a second Prow Lance, identical to the Prow Lance I had already, only to discover during the next battle that I could only fire one of my Prow lances per turn which was very annoying)
Yeah, this game is a most buy.... next year when it's finished.

so,this is proper grimdark 40k? at last! i started 40k when it was first invented and ive been waiting for a game to do it properly. 40k is not nice,the universe and everyone in it is horrible and i love it!
So I’m not a huge fan of grim dark, so I might not be the best judge, but I thought it was and that they fit the WH universe well. Also, plenty of the developers are fans of 40k so I think they will come through for you.
One caveat is that I think they chose a rogue trader setting so that they could allow for more diverse options than would typically be allows in the WH universe, so that could detract from it for you. Kind of have to decide that for yourself though.
@@Nightharrow I used to have a hard time wrapping my head around EVERYONE being so horrible in the lore. But there are some exceptions the Salamanders are on the nicer side of the universe unless of course you are a Xeno as are the T'au unless you refuse to accept their greater good. The thing I always try to remember to keep the universe in focus is that EVERYTHING wants to kill you and or corrupt and twist you. Sometimes to save 100 billion you need to sacrifice 100 million. Much like decisions humanity has made in our real world such as destroying population centers and dropping nuclear bombs to speed an end to a war. The results can be debated until the end of time, but the people who made these choices did so not necessarily out of malice or desire to kill massive amounts of people, but out of a desire to serve the greater good (albeit the greater good of their own nation) and perhaps save more lives in the long run.
Steam's TRY to USD changes for Turkey has hurt my game purchase power but this game is in my radar now.
I like the setting and I played Total War Warhammer and some WH40K games but not the biggest fan (knowing some people out there). I should grab this game if it becomes cheap in a nice sale. I also love turn based games and XCOM so if this is XCOM in WH universe, that's all that needs to be said to convince me.
Yeah I feel you. No conversion issues obviously for me but I’m usually a late adopter, and wait for a sale. You also get to miss some of the bugs.
This might just be the first good Warhammer game in ages. I think it’s awesome that there are a bunch of rules and strategies in this game. To me it seems like the creators are trying their best to remain true to the OG table top game.
Yeah, it seems like GW has been… less than careful to whom they licensee out their IP to in the past.
OwlCat has been wanting to make a Warhammer game for a while, and I think they’ve done a great job. Choosing the rogue trader route so that we could have more options and still stick to the lore was also a great idea.
Is great but I don't think you can say is the first good w40k game... Chaos gate and mechanicus was good, and dark tide is decent.
@@melodiasrojas8428 thats fair. I personally have some fatigue from GW licensed games because there has been so many really bad ones. Obviously thats an opinion and Im sure someone liked all of them. It's just that many of the games they have licensed out to wouldnt stand on their own with the WH IP.

Wtf are talking about? I mean, yes, IN THEORY you could've got an orc companion from freebuta's or blood axes whom you would pay with loot, but otherwise how are you imagine non-human companion in WH40K? Humans literally have mentality "kill all non-human things or they kill you" in this universe (with VERY few exceptions). I still don't think it was a good idea to make a dark eldar charater part of the roster, lol.
The fact, that we can have an aeldari companion itself already bordering the line of heresy and your only excuse is that you are who you are.
@@ivansolodyankin6820 it works just fine in tabletop. One of the stated goals of the game was to use rogue trader to show friendly interactions with xenos. How they followed through with that is disappointing, regardless of my imagination on the subject. Also, the mentality you mentioned is not a racial trait of humans and isn't binding to a person in the lore.

So I was trying to ask someone to find out what went live, but not having luck. In the early versions you kind of just made a single player and it was best to get out of the start area, then you could save/load in with them after that.
Details where up to 6 players, you could assign any number of characters, but they had to play characters already in game (but you can respec them), they couldn’t create their own. You can also drop in/out as well, so that was kind of nice to me.

Hmm I don’t have one so I havnt looked into it, but if it’s available I think the UI and gameplay would work? Might be a good question for their discord or I guess you can return games easily if you have less than an hour played. Sorry, I’m just not up on steam decks atm. One day…
I am going to be buying it. It looks pretty good. I enjoy the 40k lore and I enjoy this type of game as well.

Isint there lot of bugs?
Not that I’ve experience so far, and keep in mind that the reviews were done prior to the Day 1 patch. Even the release version reviewers got, was patched the day before release with over 1,600 fixes.
Yeah, what Don said here. If you are worried about it though, I would just take the approach I recommended and wait a bit. They are a responsive company and are really trying to make a good impression with this one, so I think they will get any issues fixed pretty quick.

I'd say this is a massive stretch. Better for 40k fans or those wanting Sci fi? Yeah. Better game? Nah.
Haha yeah I’m sure which genre & IP you like more is probably the deciding factor for most of they had to choose. Which is nice since we don’t. Lol
I’m also pretty sure constraints around time & money also play a factor for both studios in what kind of finished product they where able to produced, so I don’t think it’s necessarily a fair comparison. I think they both well surpass the mark for a good game, so I’m happy to play them both.
