- National Guard members typically train one weekend a month and two weeks per year, while reservists have more varied training schedules based on their specific unit requirements.
I AM A NAVY VETERAN WHO ALSO SERVED IN THE ARMY RESERVES WITH THE 1208 MEDICAL EVACUATION UNIT OUT OF FORT HAMILTON, BROOKLYN, NEW YORK CITY, 94B,E4, LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT😊😊😊
I love it
Many states also have a state guard, like the Texas State Guard.
Unfortunately some National Guard and U S Army service members don't give us any props... I belong to the Georgia State Defense Force.
@@ne5409 The Texas State Guard has a good relationship with the Texas National Guard. We drilled in their Houston center and deployed with them on some missions. Thanks for serving with the Georgia State Guard.
If you want Combat Arms, Infantry, Armor, that's only available in the Guard. There is only 1 Reserve Infantry unit in Hawaii.
National Guards the better option, I looked into the Reserves and the Guard and going Guard seemed like a way more fulfilling option
Why?
@@Jaypc06 because of the duel service. You serve your State and the County. You actively are involved with your community as well as do your part for the country. The benefits come from the state as well as the government, with the reserves it just the government benefits from my understanding. I liked that in a situation the state is facing i could be activated to help. Plus the Massachusetts Guard was the first form of military service in the country, before it was a country
@@Dillon41689 okay cool thanks. I’m still deciding on going NG or reserves. I do also like the idea of helping my community especially here in Florida with all the hurricanes and all. Would be a great way to serve the State.
@@Jaypc06 the Florida Guard has really good funding and really good I heard. Personally i just think you do more in the guard than you do in the reserves
@@Dillon41689 yea I want to get experience while still being able to handle my personal life like school and work. My end goal is to move into law enforcement so I’m thinking military police in the guard might be the way to go
Usa #1
yes
National Guard also has combat arms units the reserves do not.
You forgot to mention the important top 6 reasons the Reserves suck ......
1. You don't have to pass a fitness test after basic training. There's no reprocussions for failing
2. You don't have to show up for drill weekend every month. There's no AWOL for drill weekend
3. You can get a DUI as long as you're not on orders during your "2 week" training.
4. If you fail a drug test, they'll call you out on it about 1.5 years later
5. If the Army tells you that you're deploying, you can just refuse to sign the counseling
6. You can basically do whatever you want and get away with it because you're not Active duty and on title 10 status.
Wrong. This is all false information lol
@MsBrasil89 I wish it was false information. Maybe this is what they should advertise so recruiting and retention will go up

I got my waivers approved in the NG Army..
but didn’t got approved in the Active Army.. 🤷🏽♂️
Waivers for what?
Could someone please give me information on the VA Home Loan benefits for each sector (Active duty, reserve, national guard) is it the same throughout each or do they provide different amounts for each respective division?
I'd like to know as well.
😊😊😊😊😊🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
go guard or go home.
Why even bother having the reserves??
Good question, several points.
First, the DOD has to have the permission of the state governor in order to call up or deploy overseas N.G. troops.
The I.R.R. has a very large pool of soldiers to draw on to fill vacancies in time of need. ( There is a eight year commitment for all services)
The Guard has to recruit separately, many separating service members do not wish to go Guard to avoid being called up when it rains hard, or put down riots and disorder where they might have to use force against neighbors, coworkers and even friends or family.
Guards are third in line to fight in a new war.
NG get called on more than reserves @marcusbrown188

At making cheap stuff
@Oof Doof Did you know.made in China stickers are actually made in South Korea, which is why the sticker lasts longer than the product itself
