This de Esser looks like the best de Esser I’ve ever seen, as far as controls and user interface goes. I’ll have to get a hold of it and see how it sounds!
i'd say it's not the best de-esser (there are several other great ones like the eiosis e2desser, or the McDSP SA-2 which i use a lot to get a smoother voice over sound), but the SuprEsser is a very intuitive and also versatile plugin which i often use for e.g. whistling esses. i bought it when it came out and used it ever since.
Usually vocals especially comps are send to either a stereo or mono vocal buss. They both sound the same Just put your surpressor as an insert onh the stereo vocal buss or as a send for some Parallel treatment. You'll retain than mono sound
YOU CAN D-ESS YOUR MUSIC VERY WELL WITH THE NORMALIZER FEATURE IN YOUR AUDIO PROGRAM. I DO IT IN CUBASE, AND EXACTLY HOW I WANT IT. THERE IS NO NEED TO SPEND A LOT OF MONEY ON THIS DESEER. JUST DO A DUPLICATE OF YOUR TRACK WHERE YOU CAN WORK, AND KEEP THE ORIGINAL IN CASE SOMETHING GOES WRONG WITH THE DUPLICATE TRACK. IT WORKS VERY WELL AND YOU DON'T NEED TO SPEND MORE MONEY IN SO MUCH BULLSHIT THAT IS OUT THERE IN THE MARKET. TAKES PRACTICE AND MORE TIME, BUT IT COMES OUT VERY WELL. DO THIS WORK ONLY INSIDE THE EDIT WINDOW IN ORDER TO AVOID PROBLEMS. REMEMBER, PEOPLE JUST WANT TO TAKE AWAY FROM YOU YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.
