Yet again a fantastic and really quite inspirational film, well done. If I could manage to get two or three fish as good as beautiful as you have achieved I'd be a very happy man. A couple of questions if you don't mind. I have two specific females that are heavily full, but how do I know when the time is right? Secondly what do you do with all those fry? And lastly is there a season where results a most likely? How dependent on climate is the cycle? Sorry for all the questions but it really is fascinating.

not all of them will reach to adult koi plus you need to cull them to get a good koi

I spawin at home here in trinidad my only problem is filtration for the fry pond after they hatch what do you do ?
Fees live food as long as you can - it’s the powder food that stuffs the water up. I try and get a filter even if blocked with a sponge on asap. Key is not to suck the babies up.

They reach sexual maturity around 3-5 but sometimes earlier but you'll have better luck if you wait until 3-5 years

Spawning brushes? At your koi dealer or you can use shade cloth cut into strips

So, you run the filter and the pump during the spawning session as well? Won't the eggs and the sperms get sucked into the filter instead?
I run the system only air while they spawn. And circulation through filters until hatch then air again

Should i place a filter for the koi baby fry ?cuz my whole koi baby fry is dead expect 20 of them are fine now.any suggestation plz?

So how many fish you produce until this big from thousand of fries? How many of them lives?
I normally have about 2 thousand fry to work with. I give bags of fry away and then also sell lots of babies. I tray and have about 50 tosai from each season. I don’t really cull - unless I’m breeding Showa. In nature 90% are eaten
Three questions. 1. Should I stop the filter after the koi are finished spawning? 2. When should I turn the filter back on so the fry will not get sucked up? Should I use a UV light in my filter or wait until the fry are larger?
Yes stop the filter and only airstones and gradually add filtration. Up doesn’t matter just make sure fish don’t get sucked in

haii my fish breeder and eggs were lay I removed parents from the pond. now I don't know how to take care eggs.is it necessary to circulating or moving the eggs by aireation .malachite green is not available in my locality or online can I try tetracycline hydroxide.is it effective . finally I seen in youtube fish hatchery use eggs in McDonald's jar and eggs were circulating through it .why it is using .can I need to do in my home set up please give me your valuable suggestions

hi,i recently (june 2018) built a pond on my allotment,i did not put any fish in it as
i wanted to let the water clear natually and the plants to grow ,but things do not
always go according to plan and a friends friend decided to fill in his pond,well
about 4 days ago he gave me 6 koi carp,they settled in nicely and seeme to enjoy
their new home,as he left he said they probably spawn,i assumed this was a joke until
two nights ago when they went mental,chasing each other madly around and from videos
i have watched on youtube seemed to be mating,my question is what made them spawn so
late in the year and what are the chances of any fry surviving and how can i help them?
New environment often triggers spawning. Especially if there is spawning material. Do you. Have plants in the pond?
Yes,i have lots of oxygenators and lilies,take a look at the videos on my channel,i have added more (reed mace,water hyacinths,Canadian pond weed) since i took the films,also i noticed one of the females had taken a bit of a beating and ended up with a large chunk out of her side and behind her dorsal fin,i have isolated her in a large fish tank and have been treating her wounds for seven days now and she is recovering from her ordeal nicely,there does not seem to be any fry or eggs anywhere though although the pond stank of fish for day or so,maybe they were shooting blanks.

Hmm,they were spawning,i now have hundreds of little fry in the pond,i have set up three
safe boxes for them to hide in and a fish tank waiting if it looks like the larger fish
are taking too heavy a toll on the little fellows,although for now the larger fish seem to
be ignoring the fry,also the injured fish's wound has nearly healed and the fish has become
very friendly.
Hmm,i discovered yesterday my Koi carp are actually Comet Goldfish....ill get my coat.

Why don't you want them to breed in your main pond
That would be chaotic. Too many big fish - they tend to not spawn unless you introduce spawning material.
