  • Hello friends!
    I’m Elisabetta, an Italian watercolor artist with a passion and a curiosity for art supplies and pigments.
    I love my Sennelier watercolors, but I rarely use them as long as they are in tubes; I have therefore set up a palette including all my Sennelier watercolors (including Jackson's paint, that are probably made by Sennelier).
    I am also trying to paint a small spontaneous landscape to test out this colour!
    As usual, I would love to hear from you! Comment please!

    Why is it so enjoyable watching paints being poured and swatched? I think I’m addicted to watercolours! I agree, I tend to keep my tubes for when I need them, and because I have a lot of pan sets and don’t usually work large paintings that’s almost never. So I think this is a great idea. I did send a friend some hand poured sennelier, to get her into watercolours, and she adores them, though she says the flies like coming to suck in the honey! 😂 I just got the botanical set of Billy Showell’s choices, I think I should make up a set like you have done! I love listening to your voice ❤

      Thank you! The Billy Showell set looks lovely, I didn’t know it. I’m gradually pouring in pans all my watercolours….. it’s so satisfying!

    Of all brands, I think Sennelier has the best ratio between quality and price here in Spain. I love almost every color, except sap green. Earthy tones are not the best, but the rest are lovely. Thank you for your video.

    Sennelier is one of my favs, I think they have the most vibrant colours, my best Indanthrene Blue and Prussian Blue... During the painting, how beautiful flows. They move like dancing :) They are lovely artist watercolours. Thanks for showing us your beautiful Sennelier palette.

    I love sennelier too. I love so many of their colors- I love how they rewet. Caput Mortuum was runny but I love it anyways. I also think they’re really affordable (in the US)- the 21ml tubes are great. I like other brands for my browns and granulating colors. Even though I think I have or have had all of the paints you swatched I watched all of the video❤

    Bright red has been given 3 out of 4 stars for lightfastness by the company. They give opera rose 1. So it must be lightfast.

    • @WatercolorElisabetta
      @WatercolorElisabetta  5 місяців тому +1

      That is very good news! Actually, as another follower mentioned, NR might stand for NON RATED whereas I thought it was Natural Red, hence my comment. On the other hand, they rate yellow Sophie 3 stars, and apparently it’s fugitive!! The best solution is conducting your own tests….but it’s too complicated! Anyway, I tend to trust companies so I take your info as credible. Thanks!!

    Oh fantastic. I have a 21 half pan senellier palette plus a new set of 12, amazingly all new to me, it was a boxed bargain I could not resist. Also a full pan set of Jackson’s, oh my it has taken years for some colours to dry! Why didn’t I think of combining this last one with Sennelier before! I loved seeing some of the more unusual colours and how much they added to your collection. I really really love using these colours. And shall definitely try for some of Senneliers greys, being able to use a good neutral palette is something I hope for, but I love those yellow greens too. Especially with your reds. I dislike huge palettes and would rather have two or three smaller ones open or to choose from, mainly because I spend too much time not making colour decisions! But I think also they make me nervous, so I always admire your ability to just paint! Sennelier I find are not so intimidating as Schmincke, I am not sure why, but they just feel easier to use and a bit more spontaneous. I hope you enjoy your newest collection a lot!

      @@WatercolorElisabetta Agreed ! Especially since the elusive quality of how a pigment handles is often more important - to me- than its obvious colour. Necessitating much research- well that is my usual excuse for my obsessiveness. Many thanks to you.

    There is strong evidence that Jackson’s watercolours are manufactured by Sennelier. Teo Yi Chi removed the label off of one Jackson’s tube and the tube had the logo of Sennelier on it. Unfortunately, I can’t remember the title of the video.
