This song really speaks to me in a personal way. My dad's had several work trucks throughout the years, two of which he still has to this day, and we gave each one a name and a personality. It may sound silly, but I think that's part of what's kept them going all these years, despite a few hiccups along the way. Even Dad's employees usually take to calling the trucks by name within a few weeks of working with them. I can totally see this series being rebooted as an animated film, with a message that a little TLC can go a long way, no matter who or what it's for.
That's a really sweet story, and I like the idea about the animated film. Wishful thinking, but that message is still relevant in modern days. I wish you, your Dad and your Dad's trucks the best :)
I mean, looking back on this, the creators of this show must of realized that they conceptualized the first 3D printer, in the 80s-the 80s-of all things.

Is it me, or did preschool shows of the day have better theme songs than any other? I would probably say this is one of the top 3 for best and catchiest of this category.

Thanks for uploading this onto here. I've not got the soundtrack album but I've got this extended version of the theme tune on a cassette called Themes From Children's BBC. I copied it over to my Ipod and I've listened to it many times on the journey home from work/college in the evening.
So this was the song that played during the elevator scene in "Hello Hellhole" from Eddsworld. It's quite catchy. And apparently from reading other comments this was made by the same people who created Postman Pat and was suppose to be it's successor but ultimately that didn't happen bc PMP blew up clearly. I only wonder what it would be like if it was still airing to this day.

What's more interesting is the fact that Bertha was written as a replacement for Postman Pat but PMP became so popular that they cancelled extending bertha to put all their resources into PMP

It's good that Bertha didn't fall into the CGI reboot trap which Postman Pat, Fireman Sam, and Bob the Builder all failed to avoid.
