I hope u get this question. I have a year and a half male we've had maybe a few mos and an 8 mo old female (hand raised) in a one acre pasture w/8 ft fencing. He's being super hateful to her and she's been at his mercy until I finally separated him but the holding pen for him isn't ideal long term. What's a good solution until she's of breedimg age?
Also, would you say my 8 mo old is cold? Its been getting 29-38 degrees here at night (wont stay long of course) in Alabama. Building a shed now, but I swear I think I see her shivering ? ... Any advice is so appreciated ♡

Other than keeping them separated I'm not sure there is a solution. And sometimes a pair just never gets along. Unfortunately, that sounds like that might be the case here. As far as too cold, ours just went through the 17 degree cold snap down here in FL and did fine. I would have a 3 sided shelter with the 3 sides blocking your prevailing winds as it is not so much cold but a break from the winds that they need. Fill it full of straw or pine straw and they should have a good place to get out of the weather if they decide to.

@Whitetail Hollow Farms omgoodness, thank you so much for taking the time to reply. We did build the emu barn, and it misses prevailing winds. As far as their relationship is concerned, I wondered if they just don't get along because of the age gap? He's prepared to breed, and she isn't quite yet unless I'm wrong and 9-10 mos is of breeding age?
