Thank you so much for this video!!!! IT was super clear, engaging and helpful. I have had my pump for years and never could figure out how to get my bike tires sufficiently inflated. Now, I am back in business!
This was a marvelously clear tutorial video that you have presented. It has helped me confidently learn how to pump air into my bicycle tyres here in England. Thank you very much.
I feel so dumb. I'm 47 and have been a truck driver for 24 years. I know how to put air in a tire. I bought a new mountain bike and have never used the presta valves. My tires keep getting lower and lower and I couldn't figure out why. I mean I've been putting air in them. The last time I tried the gauge was reading 100 psi. I knew something was wrong then. So I turned to UA-cam. As you probably already have guessed I haven't been opening the valves. LOL. Thanks for the info.
Thank you for actually showing the pressure gauge. Apparently the only pump I ever bought is leaking gas no matter how hard I try to attach it or how I operate the lever. Been wondering for 3 years now whether it is normal that the gauge keeps dropping and I have to pump like mad. To keep around anywhere the recommended pressure level.
I have a presta valve and I’m ashamed to admit that it bested me yesterday and almost chopped my thumb in half with help from my brake discs... I had no idea you had to spin ANOTHER piece off, thanks
Thank you for this. My old hand-pump has gone the way of the dodo, and the big electric plug-in thing my husband has is not my style. Now I know what to get and how to use it when I get it.
You didn't mention THE TAP on the Presta valve prior to attaching a charger. I noticed that because I just learned that necessary "trick" in another video where it was pointed out as "non-intuitive," which it isn't. If you don't know that you need to tap the open Presta valve SO THAT IT SEALS, you're in trouble.
Wait, so the valve lock is engaged in the up position? Every pump I’ve ever had you slide the pump over the valve and then push down to lock it. Is this the new thing? My Black & Decker pump is right in the manual you click the lever down to lock it on. Am I just wacky?
How do i prevent the pump getting stuck to the valve…. I tear a valve stem on my shrader tubes like once a year…. I buy cheap tubes most of the time.. but it also happens on expensive tubes too…. Is it me? Is it the pump?
Hi, great video! I recently purchased a Trek Allant+ 7S ebike with Presta valves on the tires. I had only used Schrader valves before so the video came in handy. I purchased your Bontrager Dual Charger Floor pump to use. The max pressure for my Schwalbe G-One tires is 54psi and they are 2.4" wide. Should I be using the HV or HP setting on the pump? And why is there a pressure release button by the Guage? Thank you.
I'm looking at the FAQ for the Dual Sport 2. It says I can ask a question, but there is no link or other way which I can see to ask a question. Not a user friendly webpage. My question is whether the Dual Sport 2 (3 & 4 also) come with Schrader or Presta valves.
Tire pressure varies since the shops would inflate them during assembly. We suggest adjusting your tire pressure to work with the trails you ride on. Lower tire pressure is great for loose surfaces like dirt and gravel where a higher tire pressure is great for pavement.

Ditto, pulled off the cap and was like huh, luckily had a dual valve...wheeee
@@astrofive620 Thank God for UA-cam 😂
Hahaha. I just experienced the same issue. I feel like an idiot.
@@breakingcustombc2925 Glad I wasn't the only one. 👍
You explain this very promptly and simply I really appreciate that! Lots of other tutorials gave useless information and made it very confusing.
Perfect! It’s been years since I’ve ridden my bike. Needed this to put air in my tires.
Much appreciated
Ur my twin. That's exactly why I watched this!
U had me at perfume pump!
Finally! Someone who showed how to pump up THE RIGHT way!! TY!!
thank you this really helped me a lot and i’m a kid great directions

Nice bro
Your welcome Clown 😂@THE-KILLER-CLOWN
The best video. Ironically the Trek rep I spoke with recommended another video on YT, when this one was the best.
Thank you. I never know how to use the airpump until I saw this video.
Great video. Clarified how to use the pump perfectly.
This is a absolutely helpful video. I put air in my bicycle tires last week. Me and Wheels(my bicycle)are ready to roll.
Brilliant video, easy to understand and excellent camera work, thank you
Wow, that was so easy, quick & informative and straight to the point!
I have been looking for the name of the Schrader valve all day thank you!
Thank you so much for the video! Had no idea there were different types of valves, thought we got a defective bike😅. Now we are riding smoothly!
Thank you! I’m 15 yrs old and i haven’t pumped a bike before :)
Who knows this would be really helpful?! Thank you so much!!
Thank you ! Very useful video. I just learnt how to use the pump for my kids bicycle.

I've been out of the bike game since 1995. I had no idea that the Presta valve existed. This is new to me. Now I feel old.
I have a presta valve and I’m ashamed to admit that it bested me yesterday and almost chopped my thumb in half with help from my brake discs... I had no idea you had to spin ANOTHER piece off, thanks
My dad got mad at me because I didn't know how to pump my tires so I came here and learned how to do it
Saved me a trip to the bike shop. Thanks!
Thank you for this. My old hand-pump has gone the way of the dodo, and the big electric plug-in thing my husband has is not my style. Now I know what to get and how to use it when I get it.
...and this is why UA-cam exists... Thank you so much!
You helped me so much❤
Hi, how to avoid losing air after detaching the pump from the tire
You dont lose air from the tire.
It's just the pump holding the air.
@@amjadbasha3325 wow thanks, you'd think that is common sense but no. There are dangerous idiots like me sharing the same world with you.
Phew! Almost had to wake up my
Husband to help me out 😂 thanks You tube!

This video was super helpful. Thanks! And nice video of Carmel!
Thank you so much! My pump came with no directions and if I didn’t learn from you to lock it I’d still have flat tires
Take 126 was super helpful thank you!!
Superb VDO! Gave 1 like.
Nice video. With this information I can better manage pumping up my inner tubes and keep them fit for the road. Thanks

Helpful Video. Prompt and right to the point!
Im 5’2”,will it be adjusted low enough for me to ride comfortably
Does anyone know if they sell the old fashioned pump that screws on the schrader valve? Thanks
thanks for video that clearly demonstrates use
Every time I release the pump from my presta valve, it deflates the tire 10-15psi. It’s so frustrating.
What about showing the adapter needed ?.
Thank you so much for explaining for us ❤❤
I’m such a noob…thank you 😭 I had a presta valve and was so confused by it
You litteralybsaved my life.thanks. a lot
Thank you so much! Now I don't have to ask any one else to help me❤😊
Should I keep my pressure between the recommended range or at the max or the min. Which is better?
Comprehensive and very helpful
video really helped thank you !
Presta valves are a pain. Every time I realize the pump nozzle, it lets air out of the tires.
Thank you! I love my new Trek Domane 🤯
How do i prevent the pump getting stuck to the valve…. I tear a valve stem on my shrader tubes like once a year…. I buy cheap tubes most of the time.. but it also happens on expensive tubes too…. Is it me? Is it the pump?
60-95 PSI? isnt that a huge variation allowed?
Thank you sk much you saved my day
God I am so stupid. Thank you for making this, my dumb ass would have never figured this out on my own.
Why only show how to do the Presta kind?
Thanks for the help!!

I still don't know the answer to your question after pondering it for 2 years, I hope you aren't still waiting for an answer. Sorry :(
You are a star! Thanks
God bless you guys! 😉
how do i know if the tyre pump is enough?

I think your best bet is to go into a trek store and look at the bike you want, or even zoom in on pictures of the hike on the website.
Thank you so much
OMFG THANK YOU SO MUCH 😭❤️

Can I pump nitrogen in bicycles?

Thanks, spent a day trying to figure it out. Thanks!!!
I still can’t figure this out
What is the normal psi for the stock tires on a Dual sport 3? Thank you.
Tire pressure varies since the shops would inflate them during assembly. We suggest adjusting your tire pressure to work with the trails you ride on. Lower tire pressure is great for loose surfaces like dirt and gravel where a higher tire pressure is great for pavement.
What's that tool
Thx u helpers a lot
Thank you 🌟
thanks
For some reason, I felt the need to check that to lock the pump, you need to lift, not depress, the lever.
