Here are the water calligraphy mats we use to practice brush drawing. These are excellent to bring out for the toddlers if you need to get them busy so you can homeschool the older ones. I bring them out occasionally so they stay special and wanted aka good to use for distractions lol

This helps alot! Im starting this fall for my 5 year old and i have two younger ones so i know it will be hard i like the loop schedule especially becsuse my youngest goes to multiple appontments a week. Im starting out with five in a row, 100 lessions to read, handwriting without tears, bible, and phonics. Also a co op one day a week. Love your videos!

Ahh we use so much of the same resources! I also read the God & Science book every morning to my kiddos too soo good! My son learned how to read using how to teach your child to read in 100 lessons going into first grade it was a life savor. I just ordered Truth and Grace after watching this video!

Hello! Our family firmly believes that the beginning of time was Adam and Eve and all of the creatures named by Adam (including dinos) existed amongst humans…
You think about in Genesis when it describes what happened and how there was just absolute destruction on the Earth, this could’ve been dinosaurs, eating people you know? People murdering people. The description of that time and why God created the flood is not painted lightly. What could be uglier than just full-blown human and animal destruction
And how Job mentions giant creatures…
I think that they died out because they were dangerous so man was killing them to protect mankind and I sincerely believe that people lived amongst dinosaurs and the way that the timeline is placed in the Bible is exactly how it all happened. Human first. Then creatures

As for science we are just doing nature study as mine are so young
And creation we use the Bible!

Hi there! Yes, we have several books covering history from different perspectives.
We keep a timeline.
I approach history organically
For instance, my son had questions about agriculture and wheels (we live in a farming community) and this lead us to the Neolithic age
We will cover everything from the fall of Rome, Charlemagne, Hitler, political and religious wars, the dynasties of China and so on and we keep it all in a timeline!
Some parents have some really creative timeline ideas if you join the ambleside online Facebook group or search in google “ambleside online history timeline.”

I join many Facebook homeschool groups and use lists from online
I look for Living Books!
There are a lot of podcasts and curricula that use this method so I pull based off of the area we need to fill 💜
So with teach your kids to read, do they pick up with spelling by doing that program?
They know how to spell because we read lots of books. We’ve never done spelling words or anything like that. I don’t think it’s right or wrong either way

This is really random but i wondered if you could point me to any verses that speak to over eating.. self control.. this is something i am really struggling with
Proverbs 23 and 28
1 Corinthians 10 talks about whatever we eat, or drink, do it for the glory of God… And 1 Corinthians 6 talks about how our body is the temple for the Holy Spirit
Philippians 3:19 Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things.
I personally don’t think this is a salvation issue but more something that is your (and many other people’s) struggles.
The fact that you are seeking to honor God in even what you eat shows that He is doing a great work in you. This is going to sound totally jaded but have you prayed about this?
Our weakness makes God powerful and great.
Even weakness of over-indulgence
This is clearly something so many can’t conquer with their flesh alone
Perhaps this is an area God is trying to reach you in to show you His Glory, Power, and Strength
Seek him in those times of weakness. Pray and fast if the Holy Spirit leads you. Cry out to God. In your prayers, read this verses. Tell Him you can’t do it. Tell Him you need Him. Rely on Him more. Believe in His ability to be your strength in your weakness.

@@Youmayhavepeace Hello, do you have a video somewhere on why you chose these resources? I am liking what I am researching about the CMEC and Ambleside. Ambleside seems wonderful but it is way more than we are used to doing (page count and number of books wise). It would really change what our day to day looks like. We have always used CM methods but it's too light haha. I've heard that the CMEC is similar to Ambleside but has a more reasonable load if that makes sense. I've thought about a combo as well haha. If you have spoken about this somewhere please let me know:) Thank you! I so appreciate the wisdom you share.

CMEC lays out the course in detail and has so many resources (admittedly it was overwhelming the first time I logged in. I felt like I was clicking and reading for days)
But the way it combines subjects it’s easier for me with multiple children. I like the book choices better.. AO is kinda intense 😆

I have been struggling and saw your video "what is the best curriculum" I laughed because I used to not struggle with this until I decided to peak at other curriculums. It has been stuck in my head that AO is the only way to have a rich, challenging and beautifully wrapped curriculum. I enjoy all the love that went into it and that when you step back you can see everything at once and know where you are headed. I also love that so many people use it and it seems to have a sense of community. Does the CMEC have those attributes? Is it rich in vision, community and rigor/depth (but at a more reasonable amount of reading haha)? I know that ultimately, I need to trust God and stop thinking about this and just move forward! Thank you for taking the time to respond!
