  • Ok, maybe not the worst one, but he does make a lot of questionable decisions. Though that's still not going to stop me from playing through this series a thousand more times.

    OK obviously it would be messed up if Batman did this, but he could’ve just snapped Ra’s neck and then immediately threw him into the Lazarus pit. Technically speaking he would’ve passed the trial, had access to the pet, and from there he could either disband the league of assassins or force them to turn against the ways of murder. And if any of them resist they’re new leader, well, he’s Batman. What are they going to do to him?
    Again it would be insanely morally questionable since although he was practically on his deathbed already, Ra’s was technically speaking still alive. However as a counterpoint, Batman was begrudgingly willing to let Ra’s die in Arkham knight if you choose not to give them a cure.

    Batman being arrogant and not letting the bat family help him when they offer him help is a character flaw. It doesn’t relate to his abilities as a detective

    The reason Batman distances himself from Robin and Nightwing is because he's turning into the Joker and doesn't want to hurt them, but other than that this is still a great video

    Batman is okay with "killing" Grundy because Grundy will come back basically no matter what, so he's not really even dead, not to mention that he's practically mindless, like a true zombie. His body very clearly not that of a normal human and does not function like one as evidenced by the electricity and healing in his boss fight. In contrast, Ra's is obviously fully sentient and his body seems to function like a normal human body, the only difference is that he has been exposed to Lazarus in the past. He's pretty obviously a human life, if you didn't know about the Lazarus, you wouldn't suspect anything abnormal looking at him or talking to him.
    Grundy is a reanimated corpse, a facsimile of a human life, Ra's is pretty much a normal human, albeit one who was resurrected, but he was resurrected as a human being still, and Batman won't kill currently living human beings.
    In body and mind Ra's is a living human being and Grundy is not.
    As for Riddler, Batman doesn't cheat at his Riddles because Riddler always has some kind of hostage leverage over Batman and he would kill them if Batman cheated. Riddler straight up says his in different games. There's also several lines of dialogue where Riddler claims he knows Batman's abilities and gadgets and therefore knows which riddles he can and cannot solve with or without cheating.

    I don’t think the crime scene vision is really explained in the games, so let me give my own interpretation. Batman uses detective vision to manually insert parts of the crime into the environment, using the information given to him. This process can’t be exactly replicated for the player, as they aren’t the world’s greatest detective, so we are shown a simplified version of what Batman sees. In reality, Batman is staring long and hard at the crime scene to pick out the smallest of details and reconstruct the crime.

    • @albangarepresentAR

      But still detective vision is literally a cheat code cuz it’s literally technology Batman uses to solve and figure out crimes and he doesn’t ever want to like do ACTUAL detective work like actually getting his hands dirty or actually inspecting a body or even using a damn magnifying glass like 🤨 I know it’s a game but still that’s kinda wierd tho

    I think some of the side missions/quests did a better job with the detective element than the main story. I remember enjoying the mystery of who was stealing people's faces in Arkham City, finding Cyrus Pikney diary pages in Origins, the scarecrow Easter eggs hidden via radio frequencies in Arkham City were kinda difficult, and even the professor pyg stuff in Knight was kinda like a creepy murder mystery. I will agree that batman just nonchalantly bringing joker back to the asylum and handing him over to the guards was a stupid move. However, Batman did have a secret batcave/safehouse on Arkham Island specifically set up for some catastrophe scenario at the asylum so I suppose he wasn't completely unprepared

    He doesn't carry the kryptonite with him everywhere, he keeps it in the cave until it's needed.
    And you're taking narrative directions so the the "player" can progress through a game without being too OP from the start.
    The games do not reveal how batman would have done things, it is for the "players" to figure out what's happening,.

    Regarding the REC. Batman Jerry rigged that thing from a shotgun and parts he pulled out of a generator. It's possible that it had a number of problems that made it infeasible to keep. For all we know, Batman basically threw that one away and might have been working on a more functional version before the events of Arkham Knight. An improved version might not have been ready for use prior to the events of Arkham Knight, forcing him to take the old one back

    Youre not gonna address the hundreds of times Batman kept himself in a state of self-denial bout who the Arkham Knight is? I mean cmon! It was spelt out to the point that even those who dont read comics knew it was Jason under the visor long before the reveal. And yet, the way Bats is written, he gets Alred to check a multitude of other leads to narrow it down & when Jason unmasked himself (the time he voluntarily did so, not the time his visor came off in a punch out--- speakin of that a lot of self-denial bout Jason there...); Anyhow, when Jason unmasked himself, Bats was like "Jason? It cant be." Because... get this, he didnt investigate further after Joker shot Jason in his chestplate. Which says a couple of things: a) He thought Joker's evidence was good enough or b) Although he wouldnt admit it, he spent a considerable amount of time perfecting his armor & his cars... err... tanks armor but when it comes to Robins ... they're too replaceable he didnt even care to reinforce the one spot that was meant to draw fire to due to it bein the strongest part of the armor. And therefore thought "There goes another one. Time for another trip to the circuses' aviary for yet another replacement."; from the moment he saw Jason get shot. Either way, he was in self denial to the point that in spite of the millions of signs, he thought it had to be someone else. Gotta be some other explanation. Cuz the one person it is, & the one person all the signs point too, is too dead for it to be him... at least according to the "World's Greatest Detective."

    • @CharacterHistory
      @CharacterHistory  2 роки тому +2

      To be fair though, the Jason reveal was more obvious for us though. Sure there are plenty of times in the game where Jason's death is mentioned, but most of those come from hallucination joker. And batman is most likely not going to see that as foreshadowing. But yeah, I agree. Batman shouldn't have accepted Jason's death until he saw a physical body.

    • @z0mb055
      @z0mb055 2 роки тому +2

      @@CharacterHistory Batman called off the investigation after seein Jason's "demise" on the tape you can play in the Batcave in Arkham VR. But there was plenty of things in Battank Forever to point to the fact its Jason. From how he talks, calling him old man. To knowing how Batman thinks to an extent he knows the armors weakpoints & knowing what his armor is made with. Or even knowing how to crack his communications network. Thos mean hed have to be someone close. Lucius mentions the Knight's suit looks like its based on a prototype he was making for Bruce. He probably couldve seen Jason's credentials were used to open his office or seen Jason with Slade on the internal CCTV system's footage from the night he was at the Asylum as Slade was taken there by Jason to be paid into a partnership. Speakin of this, this also helps illumnate the reason as to how Hush knew his office computer's password but couldnt be explained otherwise. They could match each other blow for blow in fisticuffs. Thatd alone be a huge red flag for someone who's actually not ruling anything out in an investigation of this sort when it comes to someone such as the Knight's ID. To put this in perspective, BTAS makes a point in noting that Robin was the better choice to fight Keiodaikin (not sure bout the spelling but hes a shinobi Bruce sparred during his time abroad training & after bein disgraced as thief & kicked outta the dojo, he eventually crosses arms with Batman while playing cat burglar); anyhow, Bruce makes the point that Robin taking on Keiodaikin is better because having sparred together, theyd know each other's moves whereas Robin has the advantage of not having his moves be predictable already. He revealed that he told Crane bout Oracle. Her abduction wasnt a coincidence during Excavator level. Point is theres many things pointing to the fact that Jason is the Knight & Bats overlooks it.

    There are a two points I have to disagree with.
    Grundy is a literal zombie with little mental faculty compared to Ra’s. Not only that, but Ra’s resurrects himself with the Lazarus Pit while Grundy was revived using electricity like Frankenstein, so Batman would have no problem killing what is essentially a biological machine.
    Batman didn’t lock up Robin to stop him from going after Barbara’s killer (he kept that part a secret from him.) but because if he didn’t Robin would’ve stopped him since at that point both of them think he’s going to become the next Joker.
    But apart from that, great video!

    You could've done so much better with _Batman: Arkham Knight._ The biggest botch job he made in that game was in uncovering the Knight's identity. The Knight provides him with specific details, which greatly reduces the number of possible candidates, but Batman's response is, "Search everybody!" For crying out loud, he even gets a sample of the Knight's voice and doesn't even bother to run it through an analyzer!

    Batman didn't give the electrical charge to GCPD, Cash says in the audio of the evidence room that he found it after the events of Arkham City and he said batman dropped. I think Batman knew it was in the evidence room but never thought to reclaim. But it's poor from Batman to drop high level equipment so anybody can pick it up.

  • @firstdondiego
    @firstdondiego 2 роки тому +5

    Well we probably all tend to nit-pick things after a few times of seeing it but something's stand out sometimes even the 1st time around. Like the one mission in Arkham Knight when Batman was trying to identify Bodies found around the city and one of them had a shark bite scar. He was able to identify what type of shark it was and it's scientific name off the top of his head just by the scar. I remember thinking not only is that information no ot helpful, why would anyone even know that information, detective or not.

    • @Samuel152

      @@Samuel152 I believe you are mistaken sir, I just got done playing it a couple weeks ago and he most definitely said it himself. Despite that, in the situation I don't see it as helpful information because even if you did use the shark bite as a way to identify the body, no one is going to the hospital to get treated for a specific shark's bite. It would just be treated for a bite and documented as from a shark.

    • @Samuel152
      @Samuel152 Рік тому

      @@firstdondiego I think you might be mistaken and confused about Detective Mode works. It's basically a supercomputer built into Batman's cowl that serves as a multi-purpose tool for many aspects of the game.
      Especially since you have to _use_ it to identify the shark bite.
      As well as it is comic book lore for Batman to know basically anything that can be learned on Earth. Does it make sense? Not really. Would it be practical realistically? Most likely not.
      But it's just part of Batman's character, if you still diminished Detective Mode providing Batman the information (because it's basically Google on steroids when doing crime scenes).

      It would be really cool for a Batman game to showcase Batman's detective skills as a mixture of Arkham Origins and Sherlock Holmes. There was a little bit of something like this near the end of Arkham City, but it's more like when Spider-Man figures out Venom's weakness in Spider-Man 3. You know how Batman can follow blood trails and "rewind time" with Detective Mode/Vision? Well, I would like to see a version of Batman doing this with no technology. It's just his mind doing all the work.
