- Its always fun to see a horde smash into another horde, so here it is! Orks vs Tyranids.. Cant wait to see how 8th edition treats these two old armies :)

Those nids are beautifully painted.
You need more subs and views. Your format is good. The table quality is good. The model paint quality is great. All in all your production is first rate. I'd rather watch you than a Miniwargaming bat rep for instance.

Those nids look sick man , the blue black really kinda fits em like xenomorph type color scheme and love the warriors killing the guardsmen and imperial fist lol
Haha yeah I love how Steve's painted them and modeled them. turns out I accidentally broke the guardsmen off with the mic cable during the game 😖
Superb armies, beautiful terrain (I especially love the moss on the buildings), and the choice of background music really set this batrep apart from the others that I've seen over the years. Instant sub.

Yeah, really enjoyed it! I like the composition of the armies, they seem balanced and equally footed, something I've taken issue with with the likes of Miniwargaming in the past. They do good batreps, but it often seems like things are tailored to win.
Do you have a Facebook page, Twitter, etc? I've got a few friends who enjoy Warhammer batreps and I think your content will be just up their street, too.
I absolutely agree with you. we love playing balanced games that present a tactical challenge to the players rather than overpowered armies that play the game for you. I'm hoping that 8th edition addresses some of the issues with he use of formations and cheese like that. You know what would be a really interesting battlefield to try and play a game on. A skyscraper fight that had like two or three layers that you can fight along using stairs, half-collapsed roofing and scaffolding. A real tight and clustered map as well, like a 3x3 or even 2x2 with tons of cover and shot-blockers to fight around and use.
HAHA! sounds brutal. what a mission to build such a table though!! :D

Hello, Simon!! This is the first time I had ever commented on your videos. Outstanding production, I might say. Your paintjob on your Orks is marvellous. It would be nice if you could post a showcase video here and there of your conversions, like the Trukks, and particularly Gibsmasha. That's the proper way to convert an AoS Megaboss into a Warboss!! I had seen your previous battle reports when you faced Fists and the Guardsmen, I think it's well deserved that you got a victory in this one. Please keep sharing this lovely content. I'm so glad I had found another Ork enthusiast who shares such quality content. Probably the following will be obvious, but needless to say, do you know StrikingScorpion82's channel? He has Orks as well, but he uses a pretty different list from yours (kinda a Kult of Speed themed army).
I'd love to see how your Orks improve in the next edition of the game!
Last, but not least, keep up with those amazing gaming tables! Your terrain is great. Much more colorful and well converted and varied than Miniwargaming's and Tabletop Tactics', which are so underwhelming. May we see different tables in the upcoming future?

Wow dem nids do... love the colour scheme! Both armies beautifully painted as always. Love the narrative driven games by the way - I hate it when people play random/meaningless objectives, it really takes away from the immersion in my opinion.

Where did you read Bombing Runs are allowed after jinking? It's a blast, which you cannot snap fire.
I really enjoy these battle reports, altough i dont know much about the rules. I would like more space marines (i just thinl they look the best), but i also LOVE orks. But thats not the point. I would like to ask you: how many armies do you have?

Could I ask what colour scheme is on your nids? I think it's black armour and dark green skin, but double checking on account of me colour blindness.
Actually they’re not my nids, they’re Steve’s. But he has very dark blue armour with a dull black brown flesh. I think he drybrushed the flesh with a light brown over black and then shades with brown shade. The armour is painted the darkest of blues and then highlighted with progressively brighter blues. He is also colour blind 😊
Emperor's Crusade ha ha cool, thanks for the clarification. I took screenshots and had a chat with folks at local Gw store. Settled on a dryad bark brown skin and a Naggaroth night blue for the armour. Thanks for the inspiration guys.

The Carnifex still had his feel no pain from Catalyst during the combat vs the Killa Kans btw, could have survived and wiped the unit next combat round, especially with one of them missing it's Klaw and being on one hull point.

It's pretty tough to keep up with all the buffs and debuffs when psychic heavy lists are on the table. After playing an Eldar vs Grey Knights game and forgetting half the spells I immediately ordered a bunch of tokens.

Your last comment was interesting... should a game of 40k be easy on our brains? That's debatable... if you like complexity and depth then no. If you prefer simplified, quick and easy, then yes. Depends which one you value more really!
im talking more about an unnecessary level of layered rules that most editioned have had before 8th. things like workibg through the levels of initiative in combat and how many attacks each get etc etc etc.. its not so much a lack of detail i enjoy but more a lack of excessive rules. such is the evolution of every game system. things get smoother abd smoother in time. more time to focus on the amazing stories and unforgetable moments unfolding as each game progresses 😊
