He raised Ivar to hate Christianity and therefore all „christian values“ like empathy, peace etc. This created most of the foundations for Ivars cruel and crazy personality.
No, actually it’s the other way around. Floki made Ivar who he was, that means all the good and all the bad. At the same time I’m grateful he raised him with so much love.
@@bookhills2704 He taught him to hate Christianity, that’s right. Peace, love, and empathy aren’t values restricted only to Christianity, though, they just promoted them as if they were their own, even though they often did not act the way. Floki raised Ivar with so much love and empathy, it’s not that Ivar is unfamiliar with these traits, Christians are just a red flag to him. For good reason. If your culture and your faith were threatened and devalued like it was by the Christians, you wouldn’t be fond of them either.
Ivar could display cognitive empathy like when he fake apologized to his brothers and said he wouldn’t kill Lagertha or when he acted like he didn’t know who had killed the Seer but he learnt genuine empathy when he went to Rusland and met Prince Igor and took him under his wing . Ivar despite all his bloodlust was still shocked by the brutality of the Boyars .
Flokie is the shadow of Fatherhood for Ivar that was Aslaugh to guide Ivar not to became helpless instead. Flokie is like a Father figure for Ivar.. wishing that this old folks will meet up again a reunited episode on season 6.
I feel so bad for Floki because Helga was obviously broken from losing their child and almost dying herself, so she wanted to finish something she always wanted to be before her time came: a mother. But her “daughter” was scared of her. Floki felt bad for her, but he loved Helga and probably didn’t know how to help her. Then he lost her.
Helga should have listened to Floki when he told her not to bring the traumatized child on the raids in England . Helga wasn’t thinking in the best interest of the child but more to fill a void within herself that she had lost . At one point you can tell that the child seemed to trust Floki more than Helga ( the time when she tried to run away ) .. l think she was scared of Helga because she feared being forced into the s3x trade not knowing who these people were or where they would take her.. it was a good storyline which portrayed a parental grief , a child’s trauma and a husband who wasn’t emotionally equipped to deal with his wife’s grief
Giovanna Araujo, I wish Ivar could have love Tanaruz and Freydis on Season 5 so Ivar can have two woman like his father Ragnar , but things don't come out right like you would like them to.
It is said of Ivar the Boneless that "love and lust were not in his nature", but what I think he needs a female friend who is his ally and co-conspirator, and who is as cunning and ruthless as he is. All too often, people seem to think that erotic and romantic love is all that can exist between a man and a woman, but Ivar is the sort who would value friendship more than sex.
Weird how? She was just a frightened little girl who had been taken away from her Muslim people to a strange (for her) Viking land. I think they could have done more with her character, perhaps she could've grown up with them with Ivar (eventually) falling in love with her!
I love how Ivar is terrifying even when he's not even trying to be.
Thank you
Naw the girl is just traumatized and terrified of men seeing how they brutally slit her mothers throat and murdered her whole community.
Helga want to have a kid but floki had already raised a son!
Fact.
"Why don't you stand up and say that to my face"
C. J. I knew I would find this comment xD I hated that scene ;-;
C. J. When tf did he said that
Victoria In season 5. When Floki left.
I loved that scene. It speaks volumes about their relationship.
0:51 the way Floki looks away when Ivar looks at him for confirmation, Floki's all like "fuck this shit, leave me out of this, Helga"
Lol
Yeah that was so subtle but some masterclass acting
The way Ivar goes "ahhh" is fckn priceless 🤣🤣
Ivar wouldn’t have become a maniac if Floki had stayed with him

Barbosssa you profile pic made me laugh! Also Floki's face when Helga says "She is not a slave!"to Ivar, lol.
floki is my spirit animal
Ivar: "Floki, I don't want to crawl through horse shit anymore."

Can anyone please tell me, what Ivar and Floki are saying to each other at 1:18? As a non-native speaker, it's very hard to understand.

Was this scene planed or did they brake in laughter?
tanaruz was weird girl..
Nah man , Helga just fed her with pig meat and she better wanted to die than eat that lul
I think they could have done way more with her character

I just get weird vibes off of Helga.
Wait what did he wanted to do to her?
Just touch her I guess, out of curiosity.
I mean he probably has never seen someone who looked like her before so he was probably curious.
😂😂😂
Anyone knows what happened to the girl ??
***SPOILER ALERT***
She killed helga then killed herself towards the end of season 4.
😂

Why is she acting weird??
She's traumatized
