‘Person of Interest’ Season 5: Michael Emerson, Amy Acker and Sarah Shahi Talk Upcoming Season

- While Person of Interest won’t be back until midseason with their fifth season, most of the cast and some of the creative team attended New York Comic-Con over the weekend. Shortly before hitting the NYCC stage, I participated in a group interview with Michael Emerson (Harold Finch), Amy Acker (Root) and Sarah Shahi (Sameen Shaw).
During the interview they talked about the upcoming 5th season, how the machine is slowly recovering its powers, memorable moments from filming, what the return of Shahi’s character means to the team, how this could be their last season, and a lot more. Check out what they had to say below:

Even the bad guys are loved ones. Elias is great. Michael Emerson is a monster actor. The emotion he passes in his voice is fenomenal, since I saw him as Ben Linus in Lost. And Amy is my new platonic love hehehe, her voice is also full of emotion. I would live a 6th season

Amy Acker's beauty leaves me in awe. I must have spent half the video looking like Edvard Munch's "The Scream", putting my hands to my cheeks, shaking my head in disbelief. I didn't know beauty had a level 11 out of 10. If some people are "eye candy", Amy Acker is "eye cocaine"

Amy has a nice face, and also she is very gentle, but her body is very undeveloped! and too skinny!!!
mydee1 "eye cocaine" is really the only righy term for it.
I once thought she was rather skinny, but she's not really. Her shoulders and arms are not skinny, and her thighs are not skinny and show a lot of muscle definition - she was a ballet dance for 13 years. Her lower legs are the part of her that is very slim and that can make her look skinny, but even they are not that skinny. There are many other stars and models more skinny. Watch her in shows where she's wearing jeans and she has quite pronounced womanly hips.
Amy is beyond perfection as usual. Her manner is so incredibly delicate - she is always very present, but at the same time mostly silent, just creating the most comfortable environment for her colleagues - Michael and Sarah. She is always happy to make a step back in order to give more space to her friends, to let THEM shine in the first place... it's such a rare way of behaviour for a stunning star, who epitomizes the purest femininity, and whose unmatched beauty and charm are just breathtaking. Fantastic! :)
She's talking less in this video than many others. Maybe just her mood or the conversation didn't go her way. She does seem a bit more preoccupied than in other videos, but she's still considerate to Sarah and Michael.

Yes. Better than The Flash, Arrow and DareDevil. Here I said it. PoI is what Arrow wanted to be.
PoI basicly is a Batman tv series. The creator wrote the Nolan Batman movies. You can clearly see the influences from Batman's world in PoI. Things probably stuck with Jonathan Nolan, writing 3 Batman movies and doing tons of research about Batman reading the comics.
Finch and Reese are both Batman. 1 hates guns and is the detective and the brains. The other is the brawn with a dark past and lots of skills in a battle.
Carter and Fusco are Gordon and Bullock. Reluctant at first to help the vigilante but they become friends and help each other. Bullock/Fusco, corrupt cops who turn good.
John Greer is Ra's al Ghul and Decima tech. is The League of Assasins. They both have a fucked up vision for the world and want to change it. They both have organizations that work in the shadows and they assasinate people all over the place.
Root is Catwoman. She starts out as a villain, then turns into an anti-hero and now she's a hero.
Shaw is probably going to be a redhood type of character. She was a Robin/Nightwing type of character at first. Being a sidekick but also a hero in her own right. Then they thought she was dead, like Robin, but then she comes back as a villain? Or at least they are not going to trust her at first. This is what the cast is saying in interviews.
The library and the train station are Batcaves.
Elias is The Piguin. Influential crime bosses.
The only thing missing from PoI is a Joker type character. But maybe that's Samaritan? Or a more Jokeresque character will be introduced in the next season.
Oh Yeah and bear probably is inspired by Krypto, Superman's dog. Or does Bruce Wayne also have a dog in some story I don't know about?

Really looking forward to season five starting sometime soon I hope however I don't want season five to be the final season hope another network picks it up

POI is one of my top 5 favorite shows, ever. I watched it when it aired and binged on it many times on Netflix since it went there. I can't see the actor playing Elias without thinking of him in Galaxy Quest!
At 7:00 when Shaw talks about how it "easily could be the End" Harolds (Michael's) face is priceless "FUCK NO, NOOOOOOO"

If there is a new season, they would most probably pick it up from the point that the last mess was just a simulation by the machine ;)

Heroes need no costumes to be heroes. This gets proven every week by this rather cerebral show that forces its viewers to use their brains. Reese is de facto Batman without the suit, Shaw is the new incarnation of the man of steel.
I predict the death of Root and Reese and the reunion of Finch and Grace. Shaw and Bear will probably form a new team with Fusco and Elias. I have no clue what will happen to (or with) the Machine, but Samaritan will most definitely be shut down at a very high price.
