@@MohammadHossainMD She definitely does. Root she emulates like a child admiring an adult, Finch she views as a Father, Shaw she flirts with and Reese, well she does like broken things doesn't she.
In the finale, we see that the machine's clone is coming online - a way to give the fans the idea that the machine is still out there helping folks even though the show is off the air - and this episode teased the idea that the machine had other teams working in other cities all along :) And the fact that these three were recruited by the machine after they had been rescued by John's team in the first place, was a nice touch.
I'd love for there to be a book series...but somehow we'd have to resurrect John, Root and Elias. For John, it'd be no problem though, he was resurrected in a previous movie. :-)
i was especially THRILLED to see Pierce again! his episode was a riot. and i love the idea that he then became part of the Machine’s irrelevant missions.
It would be interesting to see this episode in the perspective of Logan pierce's team, or better yet perhaps a spinoff episode of these 3 working the numbers
StardustLegend yeah, kinda like the Revelance episode for Shaw.definitely would’ve been cool. but i always thought Leon should’ve been part of their crew too. he’s the perfect fit and already helped out the team (and loved it). his wit and personality alongside especially Pierce would’ve been so cool. i dunno maybe it’s just bc i never really liked Harper and wish they’d chosen another former POI for the group. plus we should’ve had a lot more Zoe- hell, even just a short clip of reaction to John’s death. but they underused/underutilized the zoe+john relationship. btw- are u happy w the ending, john dying? just curious 🙃
@@_birdie uggggh. Leon, so right, he woulda been great, but i almost feel like hes better for NYC. They coulda done Shaw as the new Finch, Zoe as the new John, Root as the machine, Fusco as...well, Fusco and Leon as Leon...then on rare, RARE occasions, have Finch.
I adore this twist! I literally jumped in my chair when I watched it the first time. Because this means any person from any episode could be an asset. All the people that were amazing or had skills in this show could be out there helping people in different cities. It’s just so smart! A great open ending to a lot of characters that I think went on to help others.
Actually, in the final episode when John and Harold enter the federal reserve, there's a random guy behind them marked an asset. So no doubt that there are several more.
Not trying to be a bust, but can you imagine how much more awesome it would've been if they had a full blown 23, episode final season instead of 13? Cus they didn't explore some of the open plot points. Like Claire, like what did Samaritan want with the President (the kid wanted a meet with Prez after the stock market crash), more of Elias and more of John becoming more open about his feelings.
It would've been awesome, but of the things you mentioned, the only one that's actually a plot point to close is Claire, and it's honestly not much of a point worth closing. The look on her face after she realizes Samaritan is completely willing to expend her to get what it wants is showing that the "battle" her and Harold had during that episode was not a draw as Harold thought. It was in fact a win for the Machine, as they now had someone who was not completely dedicated to the cause. Someone who could be flipped, and while it wasn't necessary to see this flip, it would have been welcome. Interestingly enough, yet another person who refers to chess as an ultimate form of strategy and loses (something Finch stresses in "If-Then-Else") You want to talk empty plot points, hit up Alistair Wesley from S02E07 "Critical", or that one maybe-could-be-a-murderer-we-will-never-know from S04E17 "Karma" Other than those, there aren't really many empty points laying around. What happened with Samaritan and the President is rather obvious (Samaritan needed control over the government to get what it wanted) and there wasn't much to do with Elias after his storyline ended in S1. He was just a player until S4 where he became a focal point again by re-doing his storyline with Dominic in his role and he in the role of the old guard. John becoming more open was nice, but there's only so much you can do with that. Him sacrificing himself to protect Harold was perfect, since it was something he stressed over and over again: that he'd protect Harold to the end.
The three new guys Machine choose have similar characteristics to Finch, Shaw, and Reese. Pierce is Finch because he is the tech genius with the money. Harper is Shaw because she is wild and doesn't play by the rules and Joey is Reese because he is the military man that wants to help others
This scene was sweet but quite sad at the same time. The Machine knew what was coming and had already rounded up some replacements. The young new guys all smiling and happy to be there. Battle-hardened "old guard" Reece and Fusco, as capable as they were, this scene just made them look quite vulnerable and that they were on a knife edge....
She knew the odds, but they weren't replacements for the New York Team, they were her way of continuing her goal, Nathan and Finch's original goal, save lives. Just now she's now doing it in her own way, by giving those who were helped the chance to give in return, like she said, she could do so much if Finch let her reach her true potential, but unlike Samaritan who directly interfered in everything, she acts when necessary to save people
I love the idea of other possible teams they don’t know about. We know they have teams in DC and New York. I’m thinking other possible teams are located in Los Angeles, Miami and Chicago?
Makes sense. As mentioned by the DC Team, crime isn't exclusive to Manhattan 😄 I'm just surprised that CBS never did spinoffs like they did with CSI & NCIS. I know that show's a different production company, but still...
damn things wont stop coming huh? that expression in johns face is absolutely heart breaking... such a burden, but you have to go on... love this show!
Dud? I thought the Finale was great. Some points were a little rushed sure, but that was more down to the show having it's legs cut out from under it, they had to squash 2 seasons into 13 episodes basically
What I love about this, is that the Machine still shows John as "Primary Asset" vs. the others being just "Asset"
She does have a soft spot for OG team members.
@@MohammadHossainMD She definitely does. Root she emulates like a child admiring an adult, Finch she views as a Father, Shaw she flirts with and Reese, well she does like broken things doesn't she.
Root is Always Displayed as "Analog Interface"
Likely because despite finches best efforts, she looks after her father first and foremost and reese his finch's no.1 protector

@@GameslordXY where the actor played jesus christ lol
This scene was so cool. I jumped when machine shows them all as 'assets'
For those who dont know, the actor playing Joey Durban (James Carpinello) is Amy Acker's (Root) real life husband.

Lucky dude. Amy is so hot.
And Finch and Grace are married in real life

yes

probably this coming season6 :)
It's a shame it never happened, would have watched it for sure.

I like Leon to but he always seemed to be a little too shady to really be a full-time asset.
