  • Nothing ruins a brew day quicker than a messy boil over! Sentinel Boil Over Minder is your stainless-steel line of defense against the most dangerous of brew day surprises. Engineered to prevent boil overs, the strategically placed holes disrupt the foam by creating smaller columns that collapse under their own weight. The Sentinel is compatible with any kettle up to 16" in diameter (40.5 cm). Simply line up your Sentinel so that it forms a seal with the edge of the kettle, and it’s boiling time.

    Remember when this channel used to be about brewing, Pepperidge Farm remembers

    Just lay a wood mash paddle across your boil pot, kinda like Mom taught you to make spaghetti, and no boil overs. Cuts the surface tension. At no cost if you already have one. Cheers!

    The excitement of a boil over potentially happening is the only reason I brew

      James Crash I disagree. More brew sessions, less Wil Wheaton.

    so the product demos aren't bad, but these aren't really why I subscribed to brewing TV. bring back the episodes where you brew something, explain the process or science underlying the methods, tour a brewery. please give us content of substance then the ad videos you post won't become discouraging

    Not that these product videos aren't great and all, but is there any chance you guys will return to the old format of Brewing TV? I know Jake and Mike won't be back, but the fellahs that brewed with Will Wheaton did a pretty decent job. It was those videos that brought me to NB in the 1st place.

    The people who complain about this not being Brewing TV anymore remind me of the people who are still complaining about MTV not having music videos anymore. Yeah, Brewing TV used to be awesome, but it's just not that way anymore. The last episode with Dawson, Jake and Chip was almost five years ago. Chip is making new videos at Chop and Brew, which occasionally has Dawson show up. Sure they don't visit pro brewers anymore (those were always my least favorite episodes since I don't drink commercial beer) but they do have brew sessions once in a while. Instead of complaining, go watch those videos and help them out financially (buy the swag or donate) so that they can make more videos.

      Scott Millican So save your money and buy a wok and drill holes in it.

    A spray bottle and some distilled water is way cheaper than this and everybody knows A watched pot never boils but an unwatched pot is sure to boil over so save your cash and watch your pot till the Hot break passes.

    So what you're saying is, find a metal spaghetti strainer and if you have to, make the holes bigger... Thanks for the hot tip!
    Also, when you make a video on a product and post it, how about dropping a link to said product in the description? This isn't the first time you've done this.

    Again i ask..... why is this not on northern brewers UA-cam channel????
    feel free to brew a beverage then show off the product during the brew day. or for the sake of all the time and energy that people (chip,jake and mike) put into this to make it what it is and stop all new uploads!
    It's sad that BTV is not respected by northern brewer. does nobody at Norther Brewer make beer at all? thats a real question!!?

    one of the more gimmicky pieces of brewing equipment i ever seen in my life, i brewed beer for going on 15 years never had a boil over. why? cause i pay attention. there is a very short window during the brewing process that a boil over can happen for the most part, and thats the hot break and adding hops to the wort just pay attention during those times and during the brewing process, you are a brewer right? well its part of the job to monitor the brewing process , 70 dollars for a wok with holes in , think about it

  • @brianmef71
    @brianmef71 7 років тому

    Nothing but a gimmick. In my opinion (yours may be different) If you can't watch your pot, you don't need to be brewing. Once the foam starts coming up, turn your fire way down. Then let it go though the "hot break". That's all there is too it. SMH.
