Her violin was a little hot on the volume but really good good song.I need to start recording again!Music stations definitely need new music. Christian country music, Christian rock, Christian slow rock, Christian fast rock.Just along as it's Christian lyrics that you can read and understand needs to be heard to help wake people up out of this modern day tower of babel-confusion world.Father God who is in heaven we pray for your help in Jesus name Amen!Thank you Father 💖
💪😇🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙌💥
This particular song by Chris and The Steeldrivers is on my funeral music list in my will.
Randall Parker mine, too
I'm praying for the Lord's return and the Rapture before that happens.
WoW! You picked a great one 🙌🏾 I love Chris!!!!!
Randall Parker mine to
Randall, I agree
I wonder if the people in the crowd realize how lucky they are to have witnessed this
Aint that the truth. Tammy Rogers harmony along with Chris is/was something special.
A truer statement has never been spoken.
I got to see him in Columbia MO a couple years ago for ten bucks after he left the Steeldrivers! That'll never happen again. Steeldrivers are still awesome though. Wish I coulda been at this show, that looks like a special moment.
My father saw the Steeldrivers at the Tunktannock Blue Grass festival around that time for $5. He can't forget their performance it was so good. Wish I trucked along
I started listening to The Steeldrivers right after they became a band and was lucky to see them several times. When Chris left and started the Jompson Brothers, I booked them for a show in Greeneville, TN. They came up and played all evening for $500, hard to believe. I'm guessing he would be about $500,000 now.
One of those song ya hear once and it instantly becomes your favorite song.
I know
Can testify to that as of three days ago.
My pop passed today
He's bound for glory
No more pain
Sorry for your loss brother
So sorry😔 May he rest in peace
Lost my dad 3 days ago, I walked into the room and found him laying on his side after beating the door down, he strangled on his vomit supposedly, they just called it a natural death??? I miss my daddy , he was my best friend
@@rachelsalman9137As a father, I know the love that I felt from you as I read your words , made his life complete.
I can't listen to this song without tears streaming down my face. That's what music should be. I miss my papaw so much.
Indeed Jeff Boone, indeed.
Jeff Boone ditto. My grandpa is on his way out and it’s so fitting.
My grandpa was the greatest man I ever knew...they just dont make em like him anymore...god I miss that man.
@@realist-2024 ...and my father!
Dude, feel ya brother
This songs means so much to me. The day that I found out that my little brother had cancer, it was already in the final stages & they couldn't do any treatments since it was so far. Well as I was driving home on that clear sunny day I seen the brightest rainbow in the sky, I actually took a picture of it, I know it was a sign of the Lord. My brother was special needs he was not only blind but also autistic so he was non verbal. Well a week later he passed now he's up there with the Lord seeing all the beautiful colors of the rainbow.
This earth was never our home, we're all just passing through
@josiekoerner5345 ❤
This is definitely my dad's story! He passed at age 80, lived a life of traveling, rambling and playing guitar & singing. He told me he was right with The Lord before he passed, then my mom passed 4 months later. Damn COVID!
Right after Chris sings, "going where there's no more pain" and the violin comes in right there, what an explosion of emotion. Omg!
Agreed
I didn't believe in angels until i hear her play that expression of joy and despair all in one sweep of the bow
That cut me open
Gives me chills everytime
The more I listen to Chris Stapleton and The SteelDrivers, the more I fall in love with their music.
Ha! Thanks Scott for introducing me to them!!
I love all of their songs
This is a sucker punch of a song........................
I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but for the life of me, I can't understand how there could be 54 dislikes to this song. Beautiful song, and it says everything that needs to be said. I've sang it at 3 funerals, and one of them was today.
SO touching
It reminds me of my little brother who was special needs. He was blind and had autism so he was non verbal. The day I found out he had advanced stage cancer and it was too far gone to do any treatment I seen the most vivid rainbow in the sky even though we didn't get any rain, I actually took a picture of the rainbow which I know was a sign for our Lord. Than I think of my brother who never been able to see the colors of this world is now up there with the Lord and he can finally see all the colors of the rainbow forever..This song means so much to me. I agree with you.
So beautiful. I saw him singing this on stage at a concert in another UA-cam video. This was beautiful ❤
This song is on repeat in my car until something better comes along. What a great story of a proud, elderly man who has something left to prove. He's on his way to heaven, where the rainbows never die. Love it.
I don't thing the old man in the song has anything left to prove. He's just on his way home.
maybe he is headed for hawaii? ...west of where the sunsets...where rainbows never die!
My Dad has Alzheimers and this kills me every time I hear it, but I love it. On my Dad's funeral list.....for me!
I think the songs gunna be in your car for a while
@@teeevans8718 My nephew has MS and he discovered this song. I think it touched his heart all the way to his soul. I cry every time I hear it!
"in my dreams I come out clean" yes sir
Shut up boomer go back to your rap bull
Miss you so much Dad.
I discovered this song shortly after we put our 15 year old lab down. "Old Man" was the greatest dog that ever lived and ran and swam and snuggled. I immediately start bawling anytime I hear this beautiful tribute.
R.i.P. “Old Man” ❤️❤️❤️
...and Cody, my border collie, a gift from my father who wanted me to have something to remember him by, they both passed, weeks of each other...and then my niece, all three, my best friends, sometimes there is just too much pain...but God !!! gets us through ... Psalms 31:5 Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.
Death Is Nothing At All By Henry Scott-Holland
Death is nothing at all.It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Nothing has happened.
Everything remains exactly as it was.
I am I, and you are you,
and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was.
There is absolute and unbroken continuity.
What is this death but a negligible accident?
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere very near,
just round the corner.
All is well.
Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!
Just had to put our dog down today
Maggie's Song is another great tune. By Chris about their dog Maggie
"I'm an old man now
I can't do nothing
Young folks don't pay me no mind
But in my day I sure was something
Before I felt the heavy hand of time
I'm an old man now
I'm bound for glory
Time to lay these burdens down
Had enough of this old world of worry
Gonna trade my troubles for a crown
I will make my way across the fields of cotton
And wade through muddy waters one last time
And in my dreams I come out clean
When I reach the other side
West of where the Sun sets
Where rainbows never die
I've got on last thing to do
One more mile before I'm through
Casting off these earthly chains
Going where there's no more pain
I will make my way across the fields of cotton
And wade through muddy waters one last time
And in my dreams I come out clean
When I reach the other side
West of where the Sun sets
Where rainbows never die
I'm an old man now
Can't do nothing
Young folks don't pay me no mind"
Songwriters: Christopher Stapleton / Mike Henderson"
*west of where the sun sets
*earthly chains
Lyrically this has got to be in the top 3 all time.
Feels like my life
This song reaches into your soul!
Oh my my. Hearing this for the first time tonight. Hits home. My father passed of cancer four years ago and he was trying his best to finish up his affairs before he was unable. Now, my mother-in-law is in the final stages. And then I hear this. Man.
I don’t think his Mrs gets enough recognition… she contributes so much to the harmony @ on her own is absolutely chill producing
We lost our beloved 95 year old grandpa after Thanksgiving, my other grandpa is tired and ready to be with Jesus. Both amazing men and this songs pulls at my heart strings like no other. My brother and I play music and will sing this song for my grandpas big service in April. 🥹
I had never heard this song until the day my father passed away....brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. Chris has such an amazing voice!!
Chris is truly amazing he can sing anything 👍🏾💜
RIP original Drivers!
As a disabled stroke survivor I listen to this everyday. Its bittersweet how accurate this song is, Chris is a musical genius
Glad you're enjoying it Lor!
Same!
My baby brother died this past January. I heard this song only a few months before Thomas died. Thomas was a real rounder when he was a young man. But time had not been kind to him. He had to go on disability and could no longer get around much. The words of this song hit me hard. He has now gone to glory, and I hope to see him one day. RIP Thomas L Richard.
Hit me hard too. He's not gone, because he's loving through me right now for sure. Happened to pull up this video thinking of him and saw your comment.
After the 1st time I heard this song, I put it in my will to be played at my funeral.
What a great song. This ought to be on the Radio somewhere EVERYDAY !
This dude is talent. In human form.
This song just punches you in the gut, brings a tear to your eye and then makes you smile. Chris just crushes it in everything he does!
Really well said.
Lost my uncle to an accidental fentanyl overdose. shortly after this song came into my suggested and it sounds like he wrote it himself Rest In Peace Uncle Joey you’ll forever be missed
Man I wish I could hear this song for the first time again
I never get tired of this song.
20,000 views? Should be 20 million.
Knew he'd be famous the day I heard this when first released. Fan from the early beginning!
Steel drivers are great. Hate Chris left, but he had to go his own way, doesn't change the fact that the band is great.
I just can’t quit listening to this. There’s both a sadness and a happiness behind the lyrics and Chris’s voice is amazing. This is by far my favorite song on an album chock full of amazing music.
I just sent this song to my 92 yr old Dad! Just helped him do his pre planning awhile back. May he live to be 100... you will sing him on out either way it goes he's impressed with you Chris also😊
I absolutely love this song. Those harmony vocals are totally on point, and Chris is just amazing. 👍
And the fiddle - Tammy Rogers !!!!!
God, if you could grant me a few wishes, one of them would be to have The SteelDrivers sing this at my funeral.
My uncle is about to pass and I can't help but think of him eveyrtime I hear this.
I totally wanted to cry while making waffles this morning. What a story. Incredible voices.
Revelation 4.... And instantly I was in the Spirit, and I saw a throne in heaven and someone sitting on it. The one sitting on the throne was as brilliant as gemstones-like jasper and carnelian. And the glow of an emerald circled his throne like a rainbow. Twenty-four thrones surrounded him, and twenty-four elders sat on them. They were all clothed in white and had gold crowns on their heads.”
James 1:12 ESV /
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
Amen.
Thank you for writing that.
Probably one of the best buildups before a fiddle solo.
We played this song at my father’s funeral and it was such a fitting tribute to him
Why does this video not have a billion likes? Anyone who can listen to this and not feel moved is empty inside.
One of the best songs ever. It just gets to you.
This song reminds me of my grandfather. A great man who believes in God. He is an amazing man and i am happy to still have him around
This song evokes sorrow yet soothes my soul. I got chills yet it's 100 outside. 🧡
I can't even put into words how great this song is.
ShantyIrsh18 Let me help you...Great Song.
Incredible
Mt grandpa said those words when he walks through a field of cotton before he dies amd said the night before he passed he's gonna ride the rainbow that night he died in his sleep and he did walk through the cotton field born raised in Rochester ny died in Georgia that October 30 2011. He rode his rainbow back home to God. Love this song.
Killer simply killer .Too bad Chris moved to solo. He's still one of the best singer songwriters in the industry " you can't reheat a soufflé "
Any One Chris Stapleton wrote this yes.
You are right, however the steeldrivers are still together but with a different vocalist
@@zekepeters997 He sounds just as good as Chris too.😊
Every group Chris was in the songs were great
Imagine bein' ANY one of these folks, good enuff in there own rights yet picked by Chris to play with him!
Never really been a country fan. I borrowed my brother in law's truck a few weeks ago and he apparently is because i start hearing some Chris Stapleton song from the radio. I couldn't get enough, the guy is amazing. Anyway i got my guitar in my lap and am trying to play along right now so keep it down. 😁
This song remind me of my dad, back in his day he was one tough SOB and never asked for help. But time gets the best of all of us and now I do everything for him.
This is real music! 🇳🇱
This came up after I listened to "Where roses never fade." Glad it did 👍
Take some time out of busy schedule grab a notebook and a pen write these lyrics down and think about them you'll be amazed at how well they fit with the song and the music from the song teach you something new every time
Who is the lucky individual to have such talent presented in front of their very eyes in a high school talent show kind of way. Such an incredible raw performance.
Glad you all got together to play music for a bit
That fiddle run and well thank you
With 2 teenage daughters who "know better than I possibly could", teaching them both music, both of them leaving me in their dust, me prouder by the day... I dedicate this song to myself. You and me both, Stapleton.
Chris Stapleton is the only dude I know that can make grown men cry. Doesnt matter if it's a song from his time with the steeldrivers or as an individual artist. This song ranks right up there with his cover of the national anthem. Wish I could time travel 50 years from now and see how popular his music still is.
Song brings tears to this tired man's eyes every time! Getten more tired ever year and looken forward to the night I finally don't have to wake and go to work.
This song always brings a torrent of tears when I hear it. They played this at my boss's funeral, and I hope they know how much it meant to all of us. Big Jim was one of kind, and nothing could have been more fitting than them playing this song for him. Fly high big Jim, you are dearly missed!
Every time I hear this I cry about my papa who died when I was just a teenager. I’m 200 pounds and 6’5”
My dad left 2 months ago this song is for him 92 years
Simply beautiful, Tammy Rogers is just incredible
This man is the best. Wow, perfection!!!!!!
I have probably been listening to this song for 5 years or more now and it's about as good as it gets.
Chris, please get back with the Steeldrivers. Please??????
I could listen at 2:21 a million times over. What a special talent
That is the exact spot that I love too. Good call
That fiddle break stirs me to my very soul.
I back it up a few times just to that instant to keep hearing that exact sound. Omg!
This will be even greater with time. Imagine PawPaw Chris playing this!
I wish Johnny Cash had covered this one like he did with Hurt.
I love all his music! He is his own genre .
Wow Chris Stapleton is great a lot of awesome songs....
Look how good they Play and sing
I will never find another song that touches me like this one does! So much truth and emotion. It's truly beautiful.
Damn, I love good music!
Jesus, this guy has a set of pipes. Heard this for the first time today on a tom waits Pandora station. I'm blown the hell away.
Who could possibly dislike this?!
I want this played at my funeral. Damn. this is awesome.
Wish I would’ve known about this song before my grandfather passed. He would’ve loved it. Pretty sure he was fine with “Grandpa” by Justin Moore. Couldn’t speak but he squeezed the hell outta my hand. Love ya Papap
Well Godbless, I don't think I've ever shed a tear over a song. Soberly at least lol
I love this band. WOW. GREETINGS from the Netherlands, Holland 😉❤
The song makes me cry
My current theme song. I listen to this a dozen times a week.
In my dreams I'll come out clean...when I reach the other side.
Beautiful!! Lost my father less than a year ago. This made me think of him.
💜💜💜💜💜🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
This shits gonna make me cry
When he says no more pain her timing will is dead on.
Love everything Chris sings, no matter the genre of music, but I must admit I have a soft spot for his bluegrass songs. While he is more than capable of singing solo or lead vocals, I also appreciate his harmonizing skills. Guess I just love his singing voice, there is something so calming about his singing voice, everything sounds like a lullaby
This music calms your soul.
DO YOU DUMMIES REALIZE THAT CHRIS STAPLETON WAS A CO-WRITER OF THIS & VIRTUALLY EVERY SONG THAT THE STEELDRIVERS RECORDED WHILE HE WAS WITH THE BAND?
Love this song……”Wade through muddy waters one last time, and my dreams I come out clean when I reach the other side west of where the sun sets where rainbows never die…..”
So beautiful
Awesome!
Please play this to remember me. Awesome 👍 👌 😊
That’s amazing
So awesome! Love this song!
Love this!!❤❤❤❤
Beautiful !!
