Dr. Donald Byrd is my all time favorite. This tribute is dynamite. I thank Kevin Tooney for leading this group. Dominoes, Flight Time, Places and Spaces. Wow!! Saw the BlackByrds in Hampton last year. Wish I had the chance to See Dr. Byrd live, but his music lives on.
Kevin, It is indeed an honor and a pleasure to get to experience this Classic Performance. I had the privilege of seeing The Great Dr.Donald Byrd at San Francisco's Great American Music Hall and naturally he and the players turned it out. There was a scheduled appearance at the Experience on the Green, Oakland, California with yourself and many other heavyweights of the entire industry, but missing from the concert was Dr. Byrd, who we were informed was too ill to travel. We all stayed prayerful and felt his presence in you and the other performing artists. I also enjoyed the concert from Montreaux,one of the few Live performances of the Blackbyrds, Dr Byrd and the Mizell brothers. I can only wish for postings of any of your works if they are available and Thank you for the correction made confirming who the players were on that date.

As you know I’m an original member of the band and was the leader and music director on all albums released from 1973 to 1979.
