I think if he did the same thing at the right location in New York City his paintings would have gotten WAY more attention and he would have ended the day with $thousands. Many of his paintings are in the style of several very famous 19th century Hudson River School artists who are still very popular in NYC.

I think that is a result of the cheap copies that poeple can buy in stores now. They do not understand the amount of time that goes into a painting. Nor do most understand the cost if you are using artist grade materials. Now ay I could do this. It would not cover a tube of paint, BUT he does this for a living and may just be wanting to rid himself of some of the demonstrations that he does on UA-cam.

I used to teach at a craft store and I would sometimes just talk to random people in the aisles and say art is great therapy...no matter the circumstances... I do hope you're inspired everyday to create your art.. Hi Felix. I cannot believe you sold your paintings so cheaply. I love your work and you were one of the first artists I learned from on Utube. I only took on painting two years ago after retiring at 68 and after undergoing treatment for prostate cancer.
One of my very first painting and still one of my favourites is the one I painted watching your tutorial, when you painted that beautiful work that you sold for $4. I will treasure that painting, even though it is only a copy of yours.
Anyway, I never tried to sell my art but I did receive a request a few weeks ago from a friend of a friend and, like you, I sold the painting for whatever they were willing to pay for it. Imagine my surprise when I received $200 for it. Thank you Felix for being an inspiration.

Watching this video gave me the first really heart-felt smile today. I'm an art teacher myself (teaching children at school from 10 to 17 yrs). Currently ill (since a year) I had a small booth at our local "Christmas Market" two months ago and sold my (smaller) paintings at very very small prices... It gave me chills to hear that one woman, who bought one of my painted wooden bookmarks many years ago, never used it as a bookmark but framed it as an artwork.
It is such a gift to the world and our beauty-starving souls that you give your talent away for what people can afford! That's so generous and loving! Thank you for that, it gives me real hope! Your paintings are so beautiful! Love and best wishes to you and your young family from Germany 🙂

Out of respect to your channel as you have given viewers and opportunity to get to know at least 2 of us I would like to extend an offer as to someone that NOT ONLY JUST WANT one of your AWESOME Paintings... but I want to be able to create your banner ads and memes for your social media, I am more of a corporate and upscale designer. But enough about that. I want one of those paintings!!! It would be history for me if I could. At some point when I get motivation... I will likely move on from the Graphic Design world of Stress to painting beautiful calming visuals you have shown in this video. I will say I do need something like your painting to just stare into for 3 to 5 minutes to relieve the demanding deadlines of the Commercial At I so love but sometimes it makes me want to pull out the rest of my hair which is nearly gone due to the stressful life of a Graphic Designer. Well I hope this comment finds you and I hope you got a little bit of a laugh. In conclusion... whether I am picked or not, GREAT VIDEO and you have a new subscriber for life. Peace and much love to you and your beautiful family. From Graphic Designer Vincent-Dale of Stillwater Dezign.

Hi Felix, my name is Nina (acrylic_scenery), I'm 41 and I'm watching your inspiring and teaching videos from germany. I've started painting one year ago because my 6 year old son saw one of your videos on UA-cam and asked for art supplies for his next birthday. So he got that and he found out very quickly that his real passion is sports not painting 😅 So I took over his equipment and gave it a try. I wish I've tried painting earlier because Im enjoying the journey so much. Sometimes as a married and working mom of two little boys it's not that easy to paint as much as I would love to but I'm happy and thankful every time I sit in front of my easel. Thankful that my little son brought such a big gift to my life and a big thank to you as well for sharing your knowledge with us and bring so much joy to each of us. I'm in Texas and paint in acrylics. I'd like to share a tip. If you use a cheap sponge brush you can paint the edges easily and quickly. Don't use the tip of the sponge, apply paint to the wide part of the flat body and, keeping it flat, run it along the edge of the canvas. It works beautifully and is fast. I use a 2 to 3 inch one.
This was a great experiment. You didn't make much but you brought happiness to people who may have limited means. They all seemed to appreciate your art and now they have something beautiful that they can enjoy every day.

Hi Feliks, my name is Alicia and live in South OC California. I started watching your tutorials during COVID . I was bored at home doing nothing and one day I bumped in to your videos and decided to give it a try. At first I thought I could never paint a landscape since I never did it before and it kind of looked very complicated to me but I had nothing to lose lol so I painted my first 16X20 size painting of the bridge with a sunset on the background and it came out very nice actually! So you inspired me to start painting . Thank you so much for your free tutorial! They are amazing and I love it! I also cried when I saw how little some people paid for your art. I only sold one of my paintings one time and that’s because it was a special request from my friend from Puerto Rico and he sent me a picture of the landscape he wanted me to paint. I’m not painting to sell. I’m kind of very attached to what I paint and seeing you giving away your art like that makes me realize I cannot just hold my art. I should share it if people want to buy it right? I admire you for being so giving . Thank you. 🙏🏼Beautiful family you have btw.

Hi Feliks! Watching this video makes me admire you even more. Thank you for sharing this and your lovely family. I’m from the US. I actually started painting when I lost a friend to Cancer. I watched and learned from your videos. I have watched other tutorials but you are my favorite. I want to thank you for this video. You are an amazing, talented and passionate artist and teacher. I now paint and give some of my paintings to people who are in need. Some are sick and some are grieving. I paint them something that they are passionate about. Hopefully my paintings will uplift them. I love giving them something that gives me joy and helped me through my grief. I can never thank you enough for always inspiring me. I just wish I could have started painting when I was younger but maybe this was fate and the moment

I am a 71 yr old, recently widowed, thereby losing my favorite fan as I struggle to earn all I can learn. I had never picked up an artists' brush until 2019. My medium is acrylic, my favorite setting is nature. I am thankful that I stumbled on your incredible art and lessons and passion for art and have attempted to follow your lessons, not necessarily replicate your work. Simply because I am not you! Since losing my spouse of over 52 yrs, I am struggling to refind the joy in painting, your honesty and passion are instrumental in my stepping back in to that. I would be very blessed to have one of your pieces in my home.

I wish I had been there, I’m from South Carolina and have drawn and painted since a child. Your art is so beautiful, you should set a price if you do it again. I imagine a lot of people didn’t buy a piece because they did not want to insult you, although I know you were experimenting. A lady I stayed at in a B & B told me Thomas Kinkade used to sit in front of a grocery store and sell his paintings for $20.00. He also painted her B&B. Good luck with your awesome talent!

I love to paint for the pure pleasure of it so I give it away to family and friends. I have had a family member and a friend commission me to do paintings as gifts. This was so intriguing to me. As a used-to-be artist myself, I would have been doing cartwheels in my mind if I had walked by and seen so much beautiful artwork on a street corner. But I'm shy, and with my awareness of what goes into a painting and how much they often go for, I think I wouldn't have been brave enough to offer whatever money I had on hand because I would would be aware that it could be considered to be insultingly less than the painting was worth.
So I guess I may be in the minority here, but I admire these folks who saw beautiful work, saw a stellar deal, and went out on a limb to acquire an original painting, which it sounds like they will truly cherish. Originals aren't in the budget for many people, and I'm still smiling about the $4 guy saying, "Nobody can touch it now. It's MINE!" I'm glad they all took the amazing opportunity when it was presented! What a gift you offered them!

Dear Feliks, I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, which is where I am watching this video today. I love your paintings for so many reasons. Your technique is so refined, the colors you chose are beautiful and coordinated in a way that the overall appearance of each painting has an harmony that resonates with me. About fifteen years ago I worked for a Large Format Digital Printing Company as the Director of Client Services. I also was the only marketing and sales person working for this brand new company. The Owner of the company was also the Company Manager. After a short while, he also hired a Graphic Designer to do graphic design work for the clients that came to us for printing. Prior to opening this printing company, he had gone to University and earned a Computer Science degree, followed by ten years working for another printing company as the Print Operations Manager. Before, I was able to fulfill my responsibilities as Director of Client Services, I had to do everything related to Sales and Marketing for this new start-up. In other words, I had to first sell businesses on using the services of our company and then I was responsible for taking care of everything related to closing the sale, submitting it to the printing floor etc. etc. and serve the Customers in all ways related to doing business with our company. Our company did every kind of large format printing including such things as wrapping cars, trucks, large trailers etc. with advertising, various kinds of printing to affix to the vehicles for personal preference or business identity. We printed banners, trade show signage, political campaign signage, etc.. I also did business with Artists who wanted to have giclee's done of the paintings etc. The list of different clients I won and the types of jobs won were wide and varied. One thing I noticed is that it wasn't long before I could tell who did the work that was being submitted for printing. I came to realize that each person who creates something leaves a part of them within their work...much like our fingers leave fingerprints behind anything we touch with our bare hands. It did not matter if the works were created for completely different purposes and different techniques were being utilized. Clues to the creator's identity were left behind. The fact that you would decide to make your paintings available to anyone for any price is a demonstration of your character. Personally, I understood the joy they expressed when they were able to purchase the painting of their choice at a cost they could afford. And, I understood the reason why more paintings were not purchased. I believe these people understood the real intrinsic worth of your paintings, knew that you are an artist who makes these paintings as your way of earning a living to take care of you and your family, and then there are others who just were not in the market to acquire a painting--no matter how beautiful--for any price on that day. I am sorry I was unable to send the proposal I wrote to you about. I am very busy today and for a good portion of the day tomorrow. As soon as I have free time, I plan to submit my proposal to your website. In closing, I just want to say that I do believe one cannot serve others to make others lives better without receiving a far greater blessing from our Father in Heaven. Your faith and charity in action reminds me of the importance to do the same in my own life. Finest regards, Anita

My mom and my daughter were the painters in the family until I was asked by a family member to paint several murals in an Autism clinic, which was a lot of fun to do together. This inspired me to combine painting and pottery, which I'm sure will add a bonus to my work. My daughter and I both enjoy watching your videos, you're a great artist and teacher! Felix! Your tutorial videos are my absolute favorite. I admire your work so much. But this video was so special to me. I just knew from your "What I do with my old paintings" video that you were in PR. 😍 It pains me that I no longer live there or I would have gone to San Juan as a #1 fan to buy a couple of your paintings. They are priceless. Those beach sunsets you paint are so dreamy. Your work really inspires and motivates me to continue practicing. Perhaps one day I'll be fortunate enough to own one of your works. Thank you so much for sharing this video with us. 🥰

You were one of, if not THE, first painter I started watching from here in Phoenix Arizona several yrs. ago. I can easily recognize your style of art while scrolling through UA-cam, w/out knowing it's even yours. I hope someday my house will have some of my favorite Feliks paintings displayed. I'll need to get a bigger home since ALL of them are my FAVORITE! THANKS for sharing your talent.

Hi Felix. I watched your videos from time to time. Because of you, I've changed my painting technique and using now a mop brush to soften my work. I also started to show at a local coffee shop years ago. Never old one, but the feedback was valuable. They had an auction one evening and let a painting go at half my price. I was so glad. I stood on numerous flea/craft markers, but people then expect it to be cheap. I was told to never undersell your art. If it gives you more exposure, then it helps. I am on social media, etc but must admit that I'm not really hands on there. I think if I promote more aggressively and really use the media, I might sell more. Now I sell only by word of mouth. It is actually disheartening as I have limited space to store my paintings and if I paint, I paint just for the pleasure of it. I'm not nearly as good as you though and still learn a lot, but with my age, it's getting more difficult, as my hands don't always feel like painting! I painted the NOMIZO WATERFALLS with you. I loved the light effect. Your paintings is so beautiful and lively. Those that got it for a good price is fortunate. 👌It's top class.
Thank you for sharing your experiences and techniques with us that is still learning. Blessings always.

Hi Felix’s, I’m also a starving artist of over 50 years. I was mesmerized by your experiment as I’m always interested in how people market their work. Although you didn’t make much money, you did create quite a buzz here on UA-cam. You’re paying it forward in such an unselfish way and you’re not one of the art snobs which is a huge plus. Having such a giving spirit is something people pay attention to and will remember. Good luck to you and your paintings are just amazing.

Brother you are so talented but with wife and child I would encourage you not to sell so low because they can and probably will just resell YOUR WORK at a much higher price. I see you mean will God Bless you but again I encourage you to price fairly.

Hi Felix, I am writing from Arizona. I signed up for your mentorship about 2 or 3 years ago. I work in all the 2 dimensional mediums & teach art classes in person to adults & kids.. I really appreciate all that you share. you are a great teacher & artist. I am always looking for ways to improve through other artists' teachings. I think as artists, we never stop learning new techniques to enhance our own unique style that God has blessed us with. I love your art & the way you teach others.
