Good morning. Do you need a 4 port hub in order for the controller to work properly? I have the camera adapter already. I tried it without downloading the software. Will it work after I download the software or do I need the 4 port hub in order for it to work at all? Thanks in advance for your reply!
The software is only to edit the midi notes on the keyboard in the programable number slots. The 4 port hub is to ensure the keyboard will be recognized by the ipad in order to use it in the ipad os. Most ipads will give an insufficient power failure error when not using the 4 port hub.

you would just connect the ipad headphone jack to an AUX input on a speaker , the size of cable tips may vary. If you are using an ipad without a headphone jack, then you would need to use a USB-c hub that has a headphone jack on it as well as USB to connect everything

You can't actually use the same midi controller for 2 instruments at the same time in a song on Garageband. does it work like this for garageband mac as well?
+Sir Cyclone yes it will work for mac too. just download the mpk editor for OSX and it's the same steps to edit the pads.
Dark Roast Recording great! thanks. also are the samples chopped through the akai program or can it be done through garageband as well?
+Sir Cyclone no, not through the Akai. you'd have to use a plugin to do that, like Outputs Arcade with the Akai connected as midi controller
Buen trabajo te felicito
You should reupload this video with no music… there was so much going on I couldn’t watch your video because I had a hard time understanding what you were talking about over the load music… I’m sure it was a helpful video🤙🏻
Sorry about that
I almost feel like my Akai MPK249 is worthless, it's got 8 knobs and 8 faders that don't do a thing and I must be the only person who ever bought one, cause there are no videos, only for the mini.
That controller is less popular, but really only because its more expensive and has many more features. that said, there is no way to change the knobs, faders and buttons within garageband for midi mapping to the keyboard, it all depends on what GB instrument you are using unfortunately. You may be able to do that with the new Cubasis app on iPad though. Its a mobile version of Cubase with midi support.
Fun fact, toddy you Can Connect the iPad direct to a akai mini
most people get the "low power" error message when connecting them direct. Using the USB hub shown in this video is a work around for that message.
와 생각보다 복잡한 시그널 ㅠㅠ
mpk mini plus 싸게 팝니다. 연락 주세요 ㅠㅠ
i cant hear you
Why do they have to make it so complicated? This seems like something that could be way more simple.
true, but it is what it is unfortunately
