    Hello. I appreciate the information and color of these new introductions that you present, even if they have been around for a bit. What I would really love is that you would show it in the landscape, in a design with other plants that are complimentary. TY!

      Thank you, we are pleased to hear you are finding the information and plants featured helpful and we share your desire to show them in a landscape settings. I don't know if you have discovered it yet but we posted a couple of videos showing parts of my own garden in early spring: studio.ua-cam.com/users/videoLU_DC79Kjz8/edit
      studio.ua-cam.com/users/videoxzixBYTex-8/edit and if these prove popular, maybe we will do some more at other times of the year, showing other plants.
      Meanwhile, maybe we can try to help out to with some suggestions for complimentary plants as we go forward, but of course we are conscious of making the videos too long in duration. So we will see how this works out.

    May I ask, I have just bought two small plants that have buds on them. Should I let them flower or should I prune back to encourage a bushier shrub? Or am I best to wait until those buds have flowered, then prune it back? Thanks

    • @OverdevestNurseries
      @OverdevestNurseries  2 роки тому +1

      Letting them flower is not going to cause much effect on the plants, so you might as well enjoy the flowers. Then if you wish you can prune them when the flowers fade.
      As you've probably noticed in the video, we make sure our plants are all nicely shaped and heavily pruned, so that when you plant them they quickly get off to a great start and make bushy specimens.

    Is there any difference which helps to tell apart 'Snowbelle' from other full varieties like 'Schneesturm' ?
    I'm asking because a nursery recently sent me a full white variety by mistake. I got to keep the bushes and the money but I'm still wondering what my philadelphus is exactly.

    • @OverdevestNurseries
      @OverdevestNurseries  2 роки тому +1

      We do not grow that variety, so I am afraid we do not have any experience with it to guide you. We highly recommend Snowbelle however, and would suggest that you visit one of garden centers in our Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern States region to inspect and select your own plants. There's nothing quite like being able to see, touch, sniff and smell the plants on display. Here's a link that will help you find all the places that stock our premium sized, ready to thrive specimens: grownbyoverdevest.com/retail-locator/

    Hi I planted this philadelphus 3mths ago it's flowers are now spent so I have deadheaded them. I have noticed a whitish something on some leaves would you know what it could be please 🤔🤔😊

      It sounds like your plant might be affected with Powdery Mildew apps.extension.umn.edu/garden/diagnose/plant/deciduous/mockorange/leavesdiscolored.html
      You might want to check it out with your local Extension office or use one of the University's self-diagnosis websites or check out some of the plant disease fact sheets like these ones from Cornell.

    I purchased a mock orange snowbelle. It came in poor shape and now lost all of its leaves and flowers. Is it dead?

    • @OverdevestNurseries
      @OverdevestNurseries  2 роки тому +1

      That's too bad. There are lots of really great, healthy plants! So it is a shame you have to try to start off and go to all the trouble of planting and nursing a plant that is anything but in the best possible shape. That said, shrubs like these are remarkably tough and resilient, so if you keep watering and looking after it it may recover.
