    Some may not know, but this flower, has an awesome fragrance, extremely hard to resist, I just went to a new friends house, spotted the shrub and she had no idea it was there, or that it has such an alluring scent. She said I could take some cuttings😃👍

      Yes it has a sweet smelling fragrance and you could easily propagate by cuttings. There are also some new cultivars now that are dwarf form. The older version like mine need to be pruned otherwise it will be at towering height.Somebody asked me also on how to prune them & if have time next week might show how to. Enjoy gardening...

    I just found one of these in a wooded area in my yard, took your advice and took several cuttings, some softwood some hardwood just above the junctions were other leaves were, scratch the wood as suggested by you and added root hormone and just stuck them in the dirt, sure hope they survive because they are gorgeous 🥰, mine is in a thick area under tall trees so it isn't real thick kind of scraggly actually but so excited to find it

    My mother bought me a mock orange bush when i bought my first home. She got it cheap, only $5!! I had 0 idea how to garden and told her to put anything she wanted anywhere. Now it is 6ft tall, i only prune the front of it because when it flowers, it fills the entire backyard with the intoxicating beautiful smell! I took some cuttings and removed the bottom leaves like you showed, but didnt scrape the bottom. I shoved each stick about 5cm apart in a pot. When the frost hit, i forgot to take them inside and thought they were goners for sure! This spring, when the 5ft of snow melted, I was amazed to find 6 out of about 15 had lived!! I was even more suprised they flowered! I thought for sure it would take time for them to flower but nope, they are tiny little branches full of flowers. Im going to clip more and use your method to propegate more and make a hedge with them in the front.
    My only "complaint" is that they dont flower for very long, id pay good money to have one that flowered all season lol! ❤

After blossoming you can prune them and use them as cuttings to reproduce more. You can also use them as a hedge by trimming them every year straight at equal lengths on top and sides. Glad that you find it informative. Thanks to hybridization where you can now acquire a dwarf form too like the Minnesota and miniature snowflake varieties. Enjoy gardening and thanks.

      Thanks & so many ways or methods to do cuttings but showed u the one that I have tried & successful. The groupings is just to save space & for mass production esp if you want to start a nursery business. I u plan a nursery business, it is good to mass produce them by digging a canal or plot on the ground, then pile your cuttings together then cover with mixture sand and soil mixture. Enjoy...

    • @plantbodybydesign7534
      @plantbodybydesign7534  Рік тому +2

      It is up to your choice. If you plant them in a planter you can move them around without disturbing the roots. If you plant them directly to the ground then they will grow faster and taller. But I recommend to prune them after blooming, then you could use them as cuttings to reproduce more plants. Enjoy.

    • @plantbodybydesign7534

      Hi, the best time to propagate is autumn or after the flowers are finished. But actually if you have a stock available you can propagate anytime. The advantage if you do it during autumn is due to more moisture & help in the generation of new growth. Plant cuttings react in conditions when there is a combination warmth & cold conditions. Enjoy successful gardening...
