Hey, it was me who made the iceberg, and it's really cool to see it getting adapted into a lenghty and detailed video like this! Allow me to clarify and expand on some points: 7:29 - Yep, Jedi Friend was a typo, I meant to write everyone's favorite Rebel Friend. There was a slightly updated reupload of the iceberg where that was fixed, but I presume you must have gotten the older version instead? 16:08 - The claim that it's only possible to reach 99% completion on LSWII for the GameBoy Advance actually appears to be reasonably substantiated, I'm pretty sure it's not the result of cheating since multiple folks over at LSWII: Watto's Junkyard have also reported the same thing happening in their playthroughs. My guess is that it would take some GBA hacking expertise to figure out exactly what flags aren't being met for the game to reach 100%, which is probably an interesting investigation in its own right. 17:32 - Yes, that was the one Scout trooper face the iceberg meant to highlight, it's just kind of a funky detail that the visors are printed on it. The other one you pictured seems to be a regular model from 2010 and beyond. 18:40 - Actually, nope: it's based on the Gian-211 patrol speeder from The Force Awakens, which from what I have read shows up briefly in the Resistance base on D'Qar (it's almost impossible to actually spot it on film, but the nerds on Wookiepiedia say it's there!). There was also a Micromachines version released somewhere around 2016. 20:32 - You should have probably mentioned that what makes the yellowfigs in the LSW1 beta so interesting is the fact that it was also around that time (2003-2004, presumably?) when Lego switched over to portraying figures in Star Wars sets with screen-accurate skin tones, which suggests the team must have probably worked with the old standard for minifigure designs for some time during the development of the game. 25:53 - Walp, AT-ST was also a typo, and unlike Jedi Friend, I've never noticed it until now. Thanks for correcting me! 29:55 - Nope, that's not it: the 1999 Landspeeder does not show up physically as a drivable vehicle, but *it is* there in the level, and I will let you have the adventure of figuring out where by yourself (as a hint, it shows up early on ;) ) 32:44 - It's probably worth mentioning that there is also a new version of the Skyhopper Pilot in the 2020 Skyhopper vs Bantha Microfighters set - just a neat little curiosity that adds more to the mystery! 33:03 - Also, I had no idea about the Visual Dictionary suggesting it might be Luke, that is actually pretty neat. 33:52 - Important correction: the 7190 Falcon was released a year later in 2000, so that picture in particular was even more preliminar than you would expect. Plus, you should have probably pointed out how different the prototype is from the final set? It's not just the box art that changed, the build itself is an almost entirely different thing, including a very weird specialized cockpit piece that I cannot discern as having been released in any retail Lego set. 35:11 - Actually, that's not it: what the iceberg refers to is how some early 1999 promotional images (most noticeably, the box art for 7101 Lightsaber Duel) had a somewhat different lightsaber hilt piece, with a couple more rings at the top and with the indentations on the bottom being flatted out deeper into the mold. 36:54 - The hairpiece mentioned on the iceberg can be seen in the preliminary image you showed early on, the charred Anakin figure is meant to stay on the raised operation table behind Vader in that set and if you look closely you might notice a bog-standard medium brown hairpiece attached to it. Maybe this was just something they did as an experiment for those early test pictures, but nonetheless, it's interesting to point out how that diverges from the final retail version of that set. 37:23 - Nope, it's not a stop motion I made as a kid (not that I didn't record a lot of those with Transformers though!), I just added it to the iceberg because it was an endearingly simple video that got a little bit of a random algorithm boost in UA-cam last year and ended up being posted on the Facebook group (then) known as Lego Star Wars II: Electric Boogaloo, where we meme'd around with it for a while. The lo-fi late 2000s Windows Movie Maker vibe does have its nostalgic appeal too! 38:33 - The odd thing about the 2008 Snowspeeder is that it was never officially released but the official instructions for it still showed up on Lego's website with a complete packaging art (presumably, it would have been a polybag), which is something that doesn't tend to happen with unreleased sets. The built models you pictured were probably made by instead ordering the parts on a service like BrickLink, hence why there are some loose physical copies of it but none with the actual bag or the original printed instructions. 40:01 - The flesh pouches are a joke on how the 2001 minifig version of Watto seems to have the pockets of his vest sculpted into his skin, as a byproduct of the head mold being one large unpainted piece like how Chewbacca and the Gamorrean Guards were. Not much to it other than just being kind of a creepy and unsettling thing if you overthink about it (although the EVA Pod is also a really cool easter egg in its own right!). 40:26 - It's an inside joke that sprung from the recent history of the LEGO Star Wars II: Watto's Junkyard Facebook group, but being that you are uninitiated, I'm afraid the W A T T can only be revealed to you once [REDACTED INFORMATION : CEASE YOUR INVESTIGATIONS] 41:42 - The Dream™ is actually a fascinating psychological phenomena mostly exhibited in the Bionicle community, where a surprising amount of people have reported a common dream of walking into the toy aisle of a store and finding all their favorite childhood sets for sale. My postulation is that the same can also happen, even if more infrequently, with LEGO Star Wars, as the earlier years of the theme seem to invoke a similar level of nostalgic attachment that appears adjacent to the phenomena. It's a really intriguing subject and probably one worthy of an entire video dissertation in its own right, there seems to be something worth saying both politically and philosophically about what is, in essence, the process of acquiring a commodity, having such a strong impact on someone's personal identity. Otherwise, awesome video in general, thank you so much for sharing and researching my iceberg! If you decide to make a follow-up based on what you missed then I will be glad to help with any doubts you might have :)
I'm still somewhat surprised with myself that I was able to get a decent amount of things correct considering I knew nothing about legos outside of the Lego Star Wars games until very recently! It was fun looking through your iceberg, finding out little weird things like not being able to 100% LSWII on GBA or the golden lightsaber hilt (even if that wasn't what it was referring to, still pretty neat!) and I'm glad you thought I did an awesome job at it, thank you!
Actually the dream you mentioned at the end I had it! I was going to a garage sale and found all the classic lego sets I've wanted and they were for a few dollars each! If only it was real
Holy crap, I’ve indeed had the Bionicle dream before. I remember always waking up and being disappointed to find out I hadn’t actually gotten the set I had in my dream. Similar things have happened with other toy lines too for me, I recently dreamed I found Transformers Kingdom Dinobot at target, though that dream will probably be real sooner than my Bionicle ones.
I’ve been yearning to ask my whole life since I first had the 1999 Lightsaber duel and Luke landspeeder set, without really knowing who to ask or who participated in the concept, perhaps yo may enlighten me: why were the early lightsabers designed in a way that the tip of the hilt is inverted, incidentally looking like Ben Kenobi’s hilt, then redesigned to look like the lightsaber hilt we know as of today?
2:34 Imagine being in prison for six years, people asking eachother what they got in for, like murder and drugs, and all you could say was "I made counterfeit Lego™"
I deadass had a dream like that last night. Specifically with a store shelf full of 8014 Clone Trooper battle packs. Shit was so unbelievable that for what I think I was the first time in my life I became aware that I was in a dream
@@warcrab2803 One night I had a dream that they were selling 2000s lego sets again and I got so excited and I couldn't stop looking at them. Then I woke up
"The Dream" is definitely a reference to the Bionicle fandom. Everyone in it, myself included, has had a recurring dream of finding old sets for sale somewhere. Variations include getting lucky and finding a few on a store shelf, stumbling on an "unused" portion of a store stacked with old sets, finding some left over in a warehouse, at a yardsale, etc. I've got a pretty complete G1 collection lining my walls and I still get The Dream regularly, which is kind of crazy. Im curious to know if my partner will ever start getting it, since she got into Lego collecting as an adult.
What the hell One of the dreams I rememer the most in the last decade or so was finding a Sidorak so I could finally complete the hordika titan trio That's spooky
I have heard about that, and seen Bionicle fans posting old pictures of original bionicle sets for sale years ago for nostalgia. Also I gotta say I like the Bionicle fan base, u guys are cool :)
I was the one who suggested Watto flesh pouches be added. Essentially, it refers to the original Watto minifigure from the Episode 1 line and his design. Watto's minifigure is almost entirely blue (which is the primary color of his skin), and his head mold includes the presence of his waist pouches that were apart of his outfit. The fact that they are apart of that mold and colored the same implies that they are apart of his body. Flesh pouches.
The liminal spaces refers to how the background art is designed to be empty looking, so a set could be placed over top of it. Without sets it's slightly unsettling, and feels like a liminal space. A few months ago there was a video released about it, but I can't seem to find it now.
While there might've been some inspiration with the Technic figures toward Bionicle, the Super Battle Droid _can't_ be one of them, because it was released in 2002 to coincide with the character's first appearance in Attack of the Clones. BIONICLE had started a year earlier in 2001, and the Super Battle Droid build itself uses BIONICLE parts. The CCBS B2 and AT-RT are one of the tragic tales of the end of Constraction. Constraction was the title given to a genre of sets themed around building action figures, which started with Slizers in the late 90s but really got going with BIONICLE in 2001. Despite drawing the ire of many an AFOL, BIONICLE basically saved Lego as a company. At the time they were coming through a fairly infamous dark age and were almost in the pan, but the first few years of Bionicle gave them a massive boom. Allegedly, Bionicle made up _40%_ of Lego's total profits in 2003. Of course, it didn't last, and every Bionicle set year after that gradually decreased in success, and with sales plateauing, lore becoming increasingly hard to follow, and a run of crappy molds that made for fragile pieces, the line was cancelled in 2010. CCBS was introduced the following year in the successor line, Hero Factory, and that was decent, before it too bowed out in 2014, replaced by a Bionicle reboot in 2015. The Saga of Bionicle G2 is fairly infamous in Lego circles. Despite some very good sets, the lack of story, absence of any marketing, Lego needing to fund the Ninjago reboot at the same time, and a bunch of other issues meant that the sets just... never sold well enough, and it was cancelled in mid 2016, unable to even make the usual 2.5-3 year cycle most regular Lego themes get. One of the biggest factors in this was the Star Wars Constraction sets. Lego had dabbled with licensed Constraction toys before, with a wave of Ben 10: Alien Force figures released between the end of Bionicle G1 and the start of Hero Factory, and another wave of Superhero sets called "Ultrabuilds", three from Marvel and three from DC that came out... later? Initially, Lego wanted to focus on Droid and Trooper characters, but were mandated by Disney to make the human leads from the movies, which resulted in many an exposed human face that just doesn't look right. Luke from the first wave and Finn from the second are both fairly infamous for being incredibly uncanny, and none of the humans ever looked quite right. Obi-Wan Kenobi from wave 1 was just okay, because his headsculpt was more akin to his appearance in The Clone Wars. These sets are actually not too bad, if you stick to the troopers, droids, and other masked characters. General Grievous is regarded by a lot of people to be one of the better CCBS sets ever made. Unfortunately, the presence of the easily-marketable Star Wars characters basically doomed Bionicle. No small child in the middle of the late-2010s Star Wars revival was gonna choose a Bionicle set over a Star Wars character, and sure enough Bionicle crumbled. However, the success of Star Wars CCBS was ultimately short-lived. These sets were _expensive._ Late-era CCBS sets were infamously overpriced, largely due to the fanservice-motivated return of Technic-based gear functions that had been present in early constraction but were removed from Bionicle G1 come 2006. On top of that, Lego's licensed products carry an extra markup because they're... licensed. Disney takes a cut for every Star Wars toy sold, so the Star Wars sets are more expensive. In addition, the uncanniness of the human faces, the price, and the lack of interaction with vehicles meant they weren't able to compete with Hasbro's Black Series or even Lego's own regular minifig sets. So after outcompeting Bionicle, the Star Wars CCBS sets were themselves outcompeted, and the final two, the AT-RT and the B2 Super Battle Droid, were cancelled, with only prototype renders of boxart ever seen. They also seem to have taken CCBS down with them, as the bones and shells that made up the system have gradually disappeared from other sets since.
22:38 My theory as to why it was never made, is because by the time LEGO Star Wars began, LEGO was about to phase out chrome silver. Sure it was still used in lightsabers, a few ships and the UCS Naboo Starfighter, but it would be too expensive to make an entire playable starship using that chrome silver color, and it would be too inaccurate to just convert it to light grey. Especially is they made it scaled so minifigures could play inside. Nowadays the closest they could do is use Metallic Silver (like modern lightsabers), but again, a tall order for an entire ship based in a color LEGO doesn't produce to that amount per set. Also, the old chrome silver had the chance of wiping off after long periods of play, since it was literally a coating over a clear or otherwise colored piece, like wrapping a LEGO brick in aluminum foil.
I’ve definitely had The Dream™ before. What The Dream™ is is a shared experience common amongst LEGO fans where you dream about walking into a toy store and finding retired LEGO sets from your youth, for example. For me, it started when I received The Visual Dictionary, and started to learn about all of the old LEGO Star Wars sets. Soon after, I’d dream about owning those sets.
Man I had "the dream" randomly a few years ago and I had a vivid dream of walking through the Walmart aisle seeing sets I'd always look at when my brother got Legos... It was so odd at the time because I hadn't gotten much of a Lego experience up to that point
My “The Dream™️” was when I saw the 2008 Lego Death Star set in a catalogue when I was 7. I wanted it ever since, but once I found out it retired, I remember having a dream of me taking it to school and playing with it for indoor recess lmao, as well as other dreams of just going to the Lego store to buy it with my parents Once I hit 14, I was able to buy it myself on Amazon, the classic 2008 version. Best 12 hours ever spent building something B) 4 years later to this day, still looks badass
I’m tempted to look it up just to see if somebody is that messed up I looked it up, but didn’t click search because there was no results in like the bar of stuff people searched before, and also there would probably be something else I don’t want to see
Yeah I think they officially stated they would want to but they didn’t because of the chrome paint having an impact on the environment. That’s why lightsaber handles have stopped using chrome paint.
The Dream is common to Bionicle fans, but it's essentially walking into a store, finding sets that are either at retail prices, or heavily discounted. Seems like the iceberg entry is saying Lego Star Wars fans have the same experience.
The best scene is in this game. After Vader dies, Luke closes the door to the emperors ship and Vader’s lifeless body just slides in the ship down the door
Little story time about Lego Star Wars; So, years back my older cousin gave me a bunch of Legos, as he had "grown out" of them and I was like 5 at the time. I remember there where some really cool figures, with a bunch being Star Wars. I was a big Star Wars fan at the time. Years went by, and I eventually got this book showing the rarest Lego figures and how much they're worth. I look at a page, seeing Boba Fett. I knew I had something similar, so I rush and scramble through my Lego pieces. I eventually found every piece, Although I think I just found a regular all-black head. I look at it closer, and sure enough, it has both leg printing and arm printing, and it was indeed the Cloud City Boba. But I realized something. There was a large scratch on the arm, because as a stupid little kid I would use my teeth to separate parts. I knew this would decrease the value a lot, by about ~100-200 dollars. I eventually made a little pillar for him to stand on, and I have him on a desk. It was really cool to find, but I can't really sell it, even if I wanted to, because of the damage.
Do you know if only the Cloud City Boba Fett is worth a lot? I have a Boba Fett keychain minifigure that we cut the chain off of, and if I could only find the helmet, then he'd be complete. I'm just wondering what's so special about the Cloud City one.
@@t-bird6853 the leg and arm printing appearing in only one really early set makes him worth a lot more than any other boba fett. there’s a boba fett in the original slave 1 that is the same minus leg and arm printing and to my knowledge he isn’t really worth that much
I got the cloud city set for $70 at Tuesday morning, and my dad immediately turned around and sold it for $700 on ebay. Wonder how he feels knowing that it would still be in the box right now
Regarding AT-RT, it's not a typo. AT-ST - All-Terrain Scout Transport. Large, somewhat slow and pretty powerful walker. AT-RT - All-Terran Reconnaissance Transport, small and very fast one-seated walker, where pilot is very exposed. It was truly a recon transport and in battle it relied heavily on superior speed and maneuverability, allowing somewhat weak installed cannons to hit weak parts of enemy vehicles and overpower greater technical forces. You can see AT-RTs being used in Revenge of the Sith on Kashyyyk, there was a good scene with them where they were searching for Yoda after order 66. There are also many instances of them being used in Clone Wars series.
The original scout trooper face is definitely the yellow one. I think the entry was referring to how the scout trooper minifig was the only stormtrooper/variant released with an actual mini figure face rather than an entirely black head as nearly all stormtrooper minifigures of that era were.
@@Chokun-Gaming there's one from 1999 that's a yellow head that has a black visor printed onto it so it lines up with the cut out for the visor on the classic helmet
While not canon, there's elements from Freemakers that are canon like the main characters and Graballa the Hutt. The reason Revenge of the Brick looks so off is because it was the first ever Lego Star Wars short ever made.
Not only being the first Lego Star Wars short, I think it was also the first Lego short featuring minifigures as characters! Beside that terrible Jack Stone VHS film, I guess, it doesn't count.
Also, the showrunners made their best efforts for the show to not have inconsistencies with canon and from what I understand, the show is actually canon compatible if you ignore stuff like cartoony hijinks and the fact that is made of Lego.
LEGO Star Wars TCS speedrunner here. Can confirm, we use triple jumps all the time, especially its derivatives, Yoda Clip and Wall Climb. Triple Jumping also works in LSWI&II.
28:06 in short, every new LEGO element is tested in the color red as a prototype, and the rest of the figure can easily be recreated using standard LEGO pieces that have been commonly released in red (including flat torsos and flat heads).
Love this video! I was actually part of the Facebook thread that created this chart, It’s Hard to Be a Stormtrooper 1.avi is my contribution, I asked for it to be added because it was a short I used to watch all the time as a kid when I first got access to the internet
40:02 I imagine the refers to the lego watto figure released in 2001 when wattos body mold was unprinted to the pouches on his body were the same color as his skin
If I remember correctly, the 1999 Landspeeder is in the DS version of Lego Star Wars II as the set made after collecting all minikits in one of the Tatooine levels.
20:38 to be fair, this is the earliest use of the part (1999) in two sets featuring Anakin's Podracer. However, it does appear in 50 other sets for the next 13 years. LEGO has been known to make certain elements for licensed themes that would be integrated into other sets later on, including prints such as tiles or slopes with computers on them. It's possible it was made in that mindset to at first be used in the podracer.
He knew almost nothing about the 501st battle pack or any of the disney lego programmes. How do you not know about shows that have been out over 5 years and call yourself a lego star wars fan
It's interesting how many of these I knew (Boba Fett's arm and leg printings, Watto's horrible flesh pouches, the Yavin IV prototype, Jedi Bob, the weird podracer made out of Type I Battle Droid parts, the Skyhopper Pilot, the Han Solo / Indiana Jones set, etc.) thanks to the LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary and the first print of the LEGO Star Wars Character Encyclopedia.
To answer the question "I don't know why this is so low," that's the point. Icebergs are meant to confuse you and placing simpler/less obscure details lower on the Iceberg makes it all feel more surreal in a way. After all, if the George Lucas minifig is real and easily provable, who's to say an extinct race of classic spacemen isn't? Another thing I have to say is that Icebergs usually only make sense if you're a part of the fandom for which they were made, and it kind of showed in your video that you don't know a ton about Lego Star Wars. You did a good job of researching most of these, but there's some fundamental (if nitpicky) details that you missed on account of not "in it" so to speak.
"It's Hard to Be A Stormtrooper.AVI" is referring to the winner of the Lego Star Wars Movie Maker contest from back in 2007. The actual title was "An Average Death Star Day". It was super hilarious and was very well made. It's about a stormtrooper on the Death Star getting into a bunch of trouble with Vader, Boba Fett, and eventually Luke gets his head cut off and thrown through a basketball hoop while saying "at least I have insurance!". I haven't seen the video in an extremely long time.
Jedi Friend was the NPC character(s) in the attack of the clones level where you fight the 3 beast. In the files it’s referred as Jedi friend. It’s randomized, so they don’t look too similar. If I’m correct the Jedi friend was in Complete saga and the first starwars game
Dude, I’m a dad in his middle age and I respect the work on this, I loved the original and the second, sharing the love of Lego and SW with my kid whenever I can
40:48 What this is actually going on about is referring to how the composition of the backgrounds makes them seem eerily empty; It evokes the sense that you are in a space that is normally filled with activity but is now merely completely devoid of life. It's a liminal space because it's in a period of transitioning between one activity to the next. This is perfectly normal; You're not supposed to see the backgrounds of these boxes because, well, the focus is on the set being placed in front of it. The youtube channel Solar Sands has a couple videos on this topic that I highly recommend you go check out: He does a far better job explaining it and exploring the topic than I could.
The research could have used some work, and maybe more takes could have been done of the voice lines. CCBS stands for Character & Creature Building System.
I may be in the small minority of people who played Lego Star Wars as a child but never really got into Star Wars or Lego but I do have tons of nostalgia for the Lego Star Wars and also Lego Indiana Jones & Batman but I've been really considering buying that new Lego Star Wars game it looks good and is sure to bring me some nostalgic memories.
I love iceberg videos but the thing I find so fascinating is the fact that I always watch stuff I barely care for and still find it interesting. Not to mention that is always made by specific channels that love topic itself like this one, I just find it amazing.
7:47 They're talking about Jedi 'Bob' aka Jedi Friend from the Original Episode 2 Laat Gunship set. He was the Unidentified Figure in the set eventually to be known as "Jedi Bob"
So they probably scrapped him because A: He was too obscure B: He was scrapped for characters like *clears throat* _Dexter Jettster_ C: He was op as heck
I can't believe you don't understand the genius, pristine writing of that Lego stop motion video! It is carefully crafted to look exactly like episode 7! It is the top of the top in stop motion!
They haven’t made a j-type Nubian set because in order to make it look good, they would have to give all of the exterior parts a chrome finish. In order to make that,it would cost hundreds for one set. To get profit they would have to price the set at very high prices.
41:10 This part of this iceberg is referring to the box art when you REMOVE the lego pieces from the background art. Solar Sands talked about these background art in his video "Liminal Spaces (Exploring an Altered Reality)"
If you actually watch the MandR video about the early set designs he shows that in the old image the Anakin figure had hair but in the new set it does not.
His researching skills aren’t good, he got some basic facts mixed up and couldn’t find information about some obscure stuff which isn’t that hard to find under the right keywords
@@cqb1494 f*cking amen. if you're gonna make a vid about lego star wars (LeGo sTaRs), a theme which has a very large and knowledgable fan base, you better know what the f*ck you're talking about. this video was quite the disappointment but the comments really picked me up
I’ll always remember owning chrome hilt Lightsabers, looking through magazines seeing the Cloud City Boba, having a book cataloging all Lego Star Wars sets from official and EU sets that came with an extra Luke minifig at the end of Episode 4. And if I knew about the 2006 Star Destroyer builds back then, I’d have been a happy kid. Good times.
The grape thing is Jawa juice. In the complete saga DS version you would often collect three of the juice boxes to get a mini kit. So maybe it could be a reference to muppets but I doubt it.
Actually, the Freemaker Adventures is canon, although indirectly. A book was released called Droidography, which is a canon book to the series. In the book, we follow Roger (a character from Freemaker Adventures and All Stars), and he recaps his life story, including the events of Season 1 of the Freemaker Adventures. This isn't a Lego Book either, this is straight up just a book about a Battle Droid. (Source: starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Droidography) On top of that, in Squadrons, Hera from Rebels appears in the same outfit she first wore in The Freemaker Adventures. It's clear to me that the shows and Holiday Special are probably considered canon, but only loosely. So if Star Wars wants to Retcon something from them, they can without people making a huge fuss about it. The way I see Star Wars Canon is kinda like a tier list, where certain things take priority over others. The order is: The Films > Live Action T.V. Shows > Animated Shows > Video Games > Comics > Books > Lego Specials/Shows
14:50 the golden C-3PO is in the cluster of about four battle droids in the middle of the page, just above the brown vehicle. C-3PO is kind of hidden in the glare from this image but a more clear picture online will show how easy he is to find
They have not made it into a set because of the silver pieces required, they are very expensive, they dont come in all shapes so they would have to create new ones and in general its not really worth all the effort for one set
While I’m not part of the lego Star Wars community as much as others, I do know a little bit. One thing I was surprised about was that while the iceberg included the chrome Vader and the gold 3PO, it didn’t mention the third installment of the trio: the silver stormtrooper. While I am vague about the whole ordeal as I’m going of the memory in my head, I believe the visual dictionary said that it was a celebration of a certain amount of years of Star Wars set in the 2000s (I’m guessing 2007 as it would be the 35 anniversary and the Star Wars sets popularity would be high enough then) and possibly celebrating May the 4th Be With You. During this event, 10,000 (probably less) were distributed in certain lego Star Wars sets all over the world, but all exclusively at Toys R Us stores. Again, probably way more info about it elsewhere, but thought it was weird how it wasn’t talked about. Maybe it’s too widely known or way too obscure. Either way hope this does something for someone.
15:00 The C-3PO is kinda difficult to see in that picture, but look here: minifigpriceguide.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/20141223_101349.jpg Find the 2nd Super Battle Droid from the left (looks to be around the center). That Super Battle Droid is aiming right at a cluster of 3 droids with 3PO in the middle of them.
That was my first guess but only because I couldn't exactly make out what was going on right there. (My second guess was the blurred droid behind the cluster in the back right hand corner, but I kinda ruled that out due to the head shape matching that of the other forward standing battle droids).
I really love Bionicles and the buildable Lego figures that you described as "Realistic". Honestly I just want more characters to be released, I even made my own world with them. Also, great video on the iceburg!
Hey, it was me who made the iceberg, and it's really cool to see it getting adapted into a lenghty and detailed video like this! Allow me to clarify and expand on some points:

25:53 - Walp, AT-ST was also a typo, and unlike Jedi Friend, I've never noticed it until now. Thanks for correcting me!
29:55 - Nope, that's not it: the 1999 Landspeeder does not show up physically as a drivable vehicle, but *it is* there in the level, and I will let you have the adventure of figuring out where by yourself (as a hint, it shows up early on ;) )
32:44 - It's probably worth mentioning that there is also a new version of the Skyhopper Pilot in the 2020 Skyhopper vs Bantha Microfighters set - just a neat little curiosity that adds more to the mystery!
40:26 - It's an inside joke that sprung from the recent history of the LEGO Star Wars II: Watto's Junkyard Facebook group, but being that you are uninitiated, I'm afraid the W A T T can only be revealed to you once [REDACTED INFORMATION : CEASE YOUR INVESTIGATIONS]
41:42 - The Dream™ is actually a fascinating psychological phenomena mostly exhibited in the Bionicle community, where a surprising amount of people have reported a common dream of walking into the toy aisle of a store and finding all their favorite childhood sets for sale.
@@Lanza00 Hey, it's my pleasure, really! Great job indeed.

"The Dream" is definitely a reference to the Bionicle fandom. Everyone in it, myself included, has had a recurring dream of finding old sets for sale somewhere. Variations include getting lucky and finding a few on a store shelf, stumbling on an "unused" portion of a store stacked with old sets, finding some left over in a warehouse, at a yardsale, etc.
I've got a pretty complete G1 collection lining my walls and I still get The Dream regularly, which is kind of crazy. Im curious to know if my partner will ever start getting it, since she got into Lego collecting as an adult.

That the same thing with the new lego chrome.
I’m concerned how I knew most of these without having to research

I’ve definitely had The Dream™ before. What The Dream™ is is a shared experience common amongst LEGO fans where you dream about walking into a toy store and finding retired LEGO sets from your youth, for example.
For me, it started when I received The Visual Dictionary, and started to learn about all of the old LEGO Star Wars sets. Soon after, I’d dream about owning those sets.
I just realized I had this dream! But it was with the hero factory sets. My mind is blown.
I had this with finding a bunch of the old Toy Biz Marvel Legends from 2002-2006…
Man I had "the dream" randomly a few years ago and I had a vivid dream of walking through the Walmart aisle seeing sets I'd always look at when my brother got Legos... It was so odd at the time because I hadn't gotten much of a Lego experience up to that point
My “The Dream™️” was when I saw the 2008 Lego Death Star set in a catalogue when I was 7. Little story time about Lego Star Wars;
So, years back my older cousin gave me a bunch of Legos, as he had "grown out" of them and I was like 5 at the time.

They were also like the only land vehicle enemies in Lego Star Wars 1
The watto's flesh pouches refer to the minifigure design back in 2001
It refers to how the pouches he has on him are the exact same color as his flesh.
AT-RT was not a mistake in the reddit post, it's a vehicle in star wars, mostly used during the clone wars.
The original scout trooper face is definitely the yellow one. I think the entry was referring to how the scout trooper minifig was the only stormtrooper/variant released with an actual mini figure face rather than an entirely black head as nearly all stormtrooper minifigures of that era were.
The one with the black head and printed face was a variant from the early 2010's

I mean, those faces are indeed... hmmm...
but overall the animation itself could be worse...
Also, the showrunners made their best efforts for the show to not have inconsistencies with canon and from what I understand, the show is actually canon compatible if you ignore stuff like cartoony hijinks and the fact that is made of Lego.
Lego Star Wars gives me so much nostalgia.

Yeah I ended up seeing the video after making this one and it was way better than my explanation lol
The research could have used some work, and maybe more takes could have been done of the voice lines. CCBS stands for Character & Creature Building System.
The liminal thing refers to JUST the backgrounds without the set parts on it. I personally get the liminal feeling from them.

B: He was scrapped for characters like *clears throat* _Dexter Jettster_
C: He was op as heck
Bionicle was based off of slizer, and isnt a mini franchise, it's a whole franchise that went from 2000 to 2010, and g2 went from late 2014 to 2016
Great video! We will watch your career with great interest
Also a mess up at 13:10 with the two lukes swapped
I can't believe you don't understand the genius, pristine writing of that Lego stop motion video! It is carefully crafted to look exactly like episode 7! It is the top of the top in stop motion!
I was bored at school so I googled the Lego Star Wars iceberg and I found this video and then when I was done I watched it
What can I say, lego star wars is pretty interesting!
I was 21:25 into this video when I discovered grapes were owned by disney
You don’t need to make parts of the tier list longer, brevity is a blessing
They haven’t made a j-type Nubian set because in order to make it look good, they would have to give all of the exterior parts a chrome finish. In order to make that,it would cost hundreds for one set. To get profit they would have to price the set at very high prices.
Now there has to be a Lego iceberg at this point
41:10 This part of this iceberg is referring to the box art when you REMOVE the lego pieces from the background art.
Solar Sands talked about these background art in his video "Liminal Spaces (Exploring an Altered Reality)"
If you actually watch the MandR video about the early set designs he shows that in the old image the Anakin figure had hair but in the new set it does not.
Oh thats interesting, I can't believe I missed that lol
@@Lanza00 its alright, it can happen but other than that a great video
@@Lanza00 I guess they changed that because he doesn't actually have any hair in that scene (all burned away.)
That part with the Lightsaber Duel flash game gave me some real nostalgia, especially with that Unregistered Hypercam 3 in the corner.
I'm so glad I found this by looking up "iceberg explained" And putting the filter "most recent" The amount of effort put in this video is amazing 👍
Thank you! It took a little while to make but im glad how it came out!
His researching skills aren’t good, he got some basic facts mixed up and couldn’t find information about some obscure stuff which isn’t that hard to find under the right keywords
@@cqb1494 f*cking amen. if you're gonna make a vid about lego star wars (LeGo sTaRs), a theme which has a very large and knowledgable fan base, you better know what the f*ck you're talking about. this video was quite the disappointment but the comments really picked me up
"In preparation for the release of the Skywalker Saga!"

Sadness
Just to let you know, the triple jump glitch also works in Lego Star Wars 1 and 2.
This is the best UA-cam video of all time !
By the way who has the amount of time to make this type of iceberg
Sigh, was just about to edit a video like this, back to the Drawing Board.
You seem like you know a lot more about lego star wars than the guy who made this video...
Good times.
I still have on chrome hilt but where the minifig grabs it the chrome came off ☹️
As soon as I saw the title, I thought, you've got to be kidding me
The grape thing is Jawa juice.
(Source: starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Droidography)
On top of that, in Squadrons, Hera from Rebels appears in the same outfit she first wore in The Freemaker Adventures.
It's clear to me that the shows and Holiday Special are probably considered canon, but only loosely. So if Star Wars wants to Retcon something from them, they can without people making a huge fuss about it.
The way I see Star Wars Canon is kinda like a tier list, where certain things take priority over others.
The order is:
The Films > Live Action T.V. Shows > Animated Shows > Video Games > Comics > Books > Lego Specials/Shows
Dude, that’s insane, the music that’s playing at 11:40 is the same music i took for my game I made.
13:57 dooku and jango vibing in the crowd lol
14:50 the golden C-3PO is in the cluster of about four battle droids in the middle of the page, just above the brown vehicle. C-3PO is kind of hidden in the glare from this image but a more clear picture online will show how easy he is to find
Took me a second but I see him as well, good observation
0:01 “Lego Stars” ...
I love how at the beginning he said "Lego stars". Not even star wars, just *star*
22:13 this one is especially curious since a full lego model of the ship was made for the cutscenes in the games.
They have not made it into a set because of the silver pieces required, they are very expensive, they dont come in all shapes so they would have to create new ones and in general its not really worth all the effort for one set
And creating those chrome pieces are bad for the environment
Thanks for killing my brain cells with the 501 rap... I mean I never said I had any in the first place
39:40
Wait...WHAT?
Hands down the best iceberg video
21:18 Grapes are now owned by Disney.
15:00 The C-3PO is kinda difficult to see in that picture, but look here:
minifigpriceguide.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/20141223_101349.jpg
Find the 2nd Super Battle Droid from the left (looks to be around the center). That Super Battle Droid is aiming right at a cluster of 3 droids with 3PO in the middle of them.
HA I see it now! Man I spent like 20 minutes after publishing this video to find it again and I STILL couldn't! Great eye!
That was my first guess but only because I couldn't exactly make out what was going on right there. (My second guess was the blurred droid behind the cluster in the back right hand corner, but I kinda ruled that out due to the head shape matching that of the other forward standing battle droids).
i thought it was the battle droid facing forwards at the top right lol.
I really love Bionicles and the buildable Lego figures that you described as "Realistic". Honestly I just want more characters to be released, I even made my own world with them. Also, great video on the iceburg!
