    This video is so important to me, this is one of the only videos of how to grow the fruit. Please make more video on native fruits. I need to keep learning.

      Wow, thank you so much for that uplifting comment and the support. I will definitely be making more videos on the subject, so don't worry. That means the world to me, so thanks again.

    hey guys if you live in the dc metro area the potomac river and some of it's tributaries are full of paw paw trees | i found some in September and used those seeds to do this whole process | they really taste like a mango and a banana and the area smelled like an african fruit market (it smelled like fresh ripe mango) (i literally have only smelled this smell in Africa) | it was quite a thrilling and gratifying experience | best of luck to anybody trying to grow these trees

    Where did you put the seeds for the paper towel method? Curious to know what warmth level was used to get the good results that you got with that method. Im planning on trying this method soon myself. Im in 5b. Thanks enjoying your videos,and subscribed.👍👍

    Pretty cool my friend. I have 5 pawpaw seeds that have already been stratified. I am just about ready to plant the seed in some soil outside. I choose to use fabric grow pots. I think I will start four in the pot outside and try the paper towel method like you did inside. Thanks for the video buddy.

    If you don’t have a greenhouse where would you put the pots? Is a grow light needed during winter months?

    are the seeds in the bag at room temp after cold strat?

    Hey there! Currently looking to plant my pawpaw seeds and was wondering how long you kept the seeds in the zip lock bad? A couple days? A month? Thanks for the info! If it doesn't work out for me this year I'll just try again next year! 😁

    • @PlantFanatics
      @PlantFanatics  2 роки тому

      They need to be kept in lightly moist paper towels in the fridge for 90 days. After that they can be planted. If they’ve already been cold stratified you can plant them now.

    Would you suggest putting the paper towel bag on the heat mat to germinate or would that bee too hot encourage mold?

    • @PlantFanatics
      @PlantFanatics  2 роки тому

      I would not recommend a heat mat. I've done this before and it just causes the paper towel to dry out faster. It will work just fine in 65 to 75 degree temperatures. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch the video! Happy growing!

    I just took my Pawpaw seeds in moist peat out of the fridge and just left it out in my sun room for it to germinate.

    After stratification when using the paper towel method, does it make sense to place the plastic bag in a heated area? If so, can it be done immediately or does it need time to acclimate to a normal environment 1st?

    • @PlantFanatics
      @PlantFanatics  2 роки тому

      Room temperature seems to do just fine for them. They don’t need to be acclimated to warmer temperatures, they do just fine with the immediate transfer. If you do use heat, 75 degrees will be perfect. Just make sure that extra warmth doesn’t dry the paper towel out too much.

    My seeds just started to germinate. They are at the same point as yours. Why wait for the tap root to get longer before planting? It would seem like the root get more fragile as it gets longer. P.S. - Nice video series.

    • @PlantFanatics
      @PlantFanatics  2 роки тому

      You could plant the seeds a bit earlier in the process, or even without the root showing at all. I just personally like putting them in the soil once that roots a bit longer.

    • @EgyptianQueenTiye
      @EgyptianQueenTiye 2 роки тому

      @@PlantFanatics I do want the root to show so that I know the seed is viable. I was just hoping that there was a scientific reason for letting the taproot grow longer that you could share. Thank you for responding.

    so i did the paper towel method and its been like a week | this video is dated 2/5 while part two is dated 1/9 | should i also wait about a month or so ? also is mold red ? or is that the start of the cuttlings ? any help is appreciated

    • @PlantFanatics
      @PlantFanatics  4 місяці тому

      It can take quite some time for the seeds to germinate. Roots are typically white, not red. Always wash the mold from the seeds during germination.
