@@manwithfewwords3954 It’s a bit hard once you’re already locked in.
It’s a bit like Qld getting stuck on narrow gauge - 3’6” - railway lines, difficult and expensive to change course now.
(However - having said that, I did actually go a bit higher still. I started with 16s and a year later upped it to 18s as my JK BMS, my solar controller, and my Victron Multiplus II could all handle the extra cells and higher voltage. It works a treat and I have zero cell balancing issues even with two newer cells in each bank.)

Very clean setup. Im also using 24v setup for my offgrid. i can you need more output power, just connect another inverter to this battery bank. So, total is 2x inverter. 1 for high usage(pricey inverter). other is for normal usage(nromal price inverter). i love this way because it can be redundacy if 1 inverter failed.

Remember that 16 cells in series have a greater chance of problem than an 8 cells set up. A few dollars saving is nothing for the amount of money invested here. I owned a 24-volt system very similar to his, and the performance is great as long the inverter is one of high efficiency

Curious, why did you go with 24VDC instead of 48VDC? The cost savings on the bus wire gauge could be used towards a beefier 48V inverter. 48V MPPT's are cheaper, and cut the cost of the BMS's needed in half, too
What size bus wire did you use?
Your video was shared on a discord I'm in, so I'm not familiar with your history of this build. Very nice build, though. If your led strips are rgb, you can code them up so that they color change based on state of charge, and possibly even get enough detail to know which cells are being balanced 😉

For each inverter I use dual 50mm2 cables for each pole (2+ and 2-).
As for the led, it's an RGB with inbuilt mic so I use it as part of my mancave disco lighting which is right next to the battery shelves
(maybe I should do a quick video for it)😂

I didn't see the size of the cells. Are these CATL grade a prismatics 280ah or so? How much total storage do you have KWh/capacity wise? Are you using a solar MPTT to charge, or AC during off peak hours? If so what AC charger to charge them? Why 24v vs 48v.. I ask as I have read especially for home use 48v is more efficient/better? I understand for 24v applications like motor homes/ebikes, but for home storage, not sure why 24v over 48v? The only thing I can think of is you are feeding in to something like an ECOFlow inverter that you plug your electronics in and those might only take max 50v input (my River 2 Pro has that limitation) so I have a 48v to 24v converter so I can power it (at least I hope it will work.. haven't finished my 48v battery yet).

Hi Nice Build... Why 24 Volt and Not 48 ?? Looking again 24 volts in Parallel so 48 but double the BMS s ??
Ok lol read the rest off the comments all good

How many people are you powering with that?

      3 adults and 2 children.
Next to this we have 16 200ah agm batteries running on a separate system powering kitchen appliances. We are going off-grid and want to make sure we have enough power for rainy days.

@@armandvermeulen2947I started this project with a Victron Multiplus ii 24/5000 inverter and then got another 24/5000 connected in parallel shortly after,I never had any issue with it so decided to stick with 24V,but if I have to start all over again I would go with 48V to save money on cabling and buying fewer BMS.

Please lift the BMS wires from the batteries, if even little insulation is damaged the wire will shortcircuit and act like a glowing stick. From than, everything will get worse very fast.

Setup looks nice, but as an electrician, it's sad to see so much wasted potential. With a little rearanging you could do away with most of the inverters. Now to be fair, this being the only video of yours that I've watched, I have to make a few assumptions, but from what it looks like: You wanna charge the batteries with solar and use the power through the inverters. Pretty standard to my knowledge. Did you know that the vast majority of modern electronics don't care if they are fed DC or AC, as long as the voltage is within a given range tolerance? Simply arranging the batteries to your output voltage, then charge the sting in segments. Gone are the inverters. Drawback is that you then can't feed the setup with additional outside sources unless they are also DC and the same voltage, again unless you convert them too. Then again, from what I can gather, this is an "outback scenario" so it sounds like solar is the main electricity source... Then again-again, I really don't care. These are only my thoughts... You do you mate. 🤷‍♂

I am unsure about most electronics can work on DC rather than AC, but I do remember fuses, switches etc that are AC rated may not play well with DC having had a fuse on a 50V piece of kit work like a light bulb for a number of minutes toasting the PCB

Lol long comment thats all wrong. You cannot just run devices on ac or dc. Sure way to fry your device or worse cause a fire.
