Beautiful Mr Wilson. One of the last 'Giant-Tuskers'
Your reflected lights are so enchanting....like that glow at the root of the tusk

Your glazes are superb
Hello Maestro. Saludos desde Argentina. Mi admiracion para Usted. He trabajado con pasteles y es muy gratificante haber descubierto su canal. Inspira a retomar los pasteles. GRACIAS. bellisima pintura!!!
Thank you so much!! ☺
Your works are very inspiring for drawing, I am from Russia and have not seen anything like this here.
Thank you very much. Russia is the home of great artists. Maybe pastel techniques have not taken off there yet.
@@ericwilsonfineart There are a lot of people in Russia who draw beautifully with pastels, but no one draws Africa like that))
I’ve watched this soooo many times and I still can’t believe how you make the pastels sing. Incredible, when will you be releasing more tutorials? Keep up the great work Eric
Thank you so much Joy. I have had a string of commissioned paintings to do lately and that has taken me away from any social media for the time being, but I shall return!
Look forward to your return, please hurry LOL

Thank you! Its very rewarding for me to read your words and know that I have inspired you :)
Somehow, pastel art looks a lot more realistic than oils.
Have you seen my gorilla video? :D
I actually like the Derwent pencils simply because they write the name of the color on the pencil 🙂
Really amazing and beautiful soft pastel painting.l really enjoyed watching the details of the elephant and the back ground brought to life and and a great learning experience for me. Thank you so much for sharing this Vedic. I would love to see a pastel painting of a Leopard. Thank you x
Thank you so much Shanta. I filmed an entire leopard painting last year but unfortunately lost all of the data when the hard drive crashed :(
BEAUTIFUL
Thank you!
Fabulous. Thank you for sharing!
You are welcome!
You gave an amazingly interesting and inciteful talk at our art society weekend at NIA, and were very generous with your time and advice, this is a great view into how you accomplish your wonderful pastel works.
Thank you David! It was great to meet you. :)
Just discovered your work. I just love it, please do more dvds and would love to see you do a mountain gorilla
Thank you Joy! ..I will :)
Hi Eric
I am so happy that I found your tutorials. Thanks a lot, I l earned so much. I would like to ask you whether you use any
Fixatives?
Greetings from Germany
Same question... Suggest some fixative...
Im sorry for the late reply, Ive only just seen this comment. The answer is no, I never use fixatives because they alter the colours. My belief is that fixatives are outdated. Papers have evolved over the years to grip the pastel so much better than they used to, and fixatives really arent required anymore.
I came to know you through Jason Morgan.....thanks to Jason
Jason is a friend of mine :)
Mr Wilson, love your work!! Wondering, I'm going to Africa next month in June 2022 (Tanzania/Zanzibar) and will have to travel with a VERY limited palette. Any input as to perhaps 6 colors I should pack? Many thanks!
Thank you Sherry! My limited palette would be Alizarin Crimson, Cad, Yellow, Ultramarine Blue, Cobalt teal, Burnt Umber, Q.Magenta ( with an ivory black and titanium white. )
@@ericwilsonfineart How kind of you to respond to my question! I really appreciate it. Keep up your good work!
Hello Eric. I can't find the option to send the DVD to Spain. Can you send too?
Hello Olga, Yes, just go to this page and where it says REGION click Mainland Europe. :) ericwilsonsart.com/ericwilsonstore/masterclass-in-pastels-dvd-set
Plz can u guide me ...wat to do to fix up these pastel colours...as I feel it keep on fading with touch..
You have to put finished pastels behind glass in a frame to protect them. You could spray on a fixative but I would not recommend it. They alter the colours.
Whic should be first? Background or the subject ....to avoid smudging
As long as you're careful, you can do either way around. Sometimes I do an inch or two of background around my subject as I'm painting it and then finish the background later. Its the boundary you need to care care with.
@@ericwilsonfineart Thanks for your reply 🙏🙏
I wonder how he broke his tusk. Perhaps fighting with another large male
I believe so...
