to be fair we've had toontown rewritten out for years since they shut the original servers down. there's a loyal community dedicated to that private server and they even host irl fan conventions/meetups 😆 it's pretty wholesome!!

This is so nuts! Amazing video! I was on the original team for Toontown Rewritten as a 3D modeler, although I wasn't very good and didn't last long. I've always loved the concept of Toontown and seeing someone reuse the game assets to make something new is so freaking cool! What a great show of a skills!

Dude, this is the antithesis of toontown in all the right ways. Just as absurd as Toontown originally was but the dystopian hellscape aspect of it is hilarious. Also kudos for working with the worst game code possible to make this. I can't wait to play this later.

Damn dude this is so good. The only criticism I have is that it feels weird for the toons to be casually strolling around amidst their ongoing annihilation. If they moved around like they were trying to not get noticed by sneaking from behind different objects in the environment, it would feel more believable. Maybe they even actively avoid the NPC cogs? I’m sure you’re tired of working on it though so I don’t expect updates lol. Either way, love the vid 🔥

Years ago when I played Toontown Rewritten with a couple of my friends, they said they hated it. They felt like it was a waste of time. They couldn't tell if they were playing a game or watching paint dry. Now I can show them this and it will probably make them happy.

You put an enormous amount of effort into this video and it is very evident, but the number of "random" gags thrown in for the sake of gross-out humour or shock humour, really detracts from the overall quality. Many of them weren't necessary and didn't add anything to the video. E.g., you eating the "ectoplasm" was just... there? For no purpose at all? It was very jarring.
I agree, but only a crazy guy could spend 9 months recreating a game and deliver it with high production editing.
Never played toon town may play your game, but you sure definitely deserve my sib. Solid content, animation, and just really great jokes. I'm gonna enjoy binging your stuff!!
