Hi, thanks for this vid. I own a 1968 Fender Jazz. I bought it in the early 1980s and came with the post CBS slotted saddles as original. Sadly mine had been badly spray painted in metallic purple and later stripped back to the clear lacquer. The neck pickup stopped working in the early 2000s and I had to get help rewinding it. You said there was no sound coming out of the bass when you got it. How did you fix this?
can't believe the customer wanted to switch the vintage tort guard out with a shitty new fender tort guard, poor condition or not. he doesn't deserve to own that instrument.

sprayed the pots with Kontakt 60+ and turned them many times until they came back to life.
A shame to remove the original scratch plate. Those imperfections are part of the story.
right, but it was broken and warped so we replaced it with a vintage-correct fender plate.
@@hotwirebass5078 Hopefully it has been kept by the owner so it can be restored in future. Or many owners won't mind the cracked edges and warpage.
@@danielrose542 yes he´s got it. he keeps it in a Safe place until the time is right to sei it on reverb for big Bucks $$$ 😁😁😁

original plate was warped and broken. new fender plate looked good and all holes fit. 😁
