Why maul this nice bass? I have the exact same '79 Musician. The active circuit gave up 25+ years ago. I love the passive sound so I don't care. I can't get the action very low so I don't play it so often. It's retired and enjoys the company of an original '79 Roadster sharing the same pickups but does not have the neck through.

Please tell me you're in L.A., I want you to pimp my Sadowsky Jazz Bass.

East preamp in a Spector is a perfect match. I replaced the Aguilar in my Spector RST 5 with thie same pre and it is awesome.

I have a 2004 Mexican Jazz that I installed the KickAss bridge on. I have owned many basses from Peavey Dyna Unity to a bought new 1975 Fender Jazz. The Nex Jazz is my favorite! Great bridge!

Lovely tone! ❤ This beautiful red J-Bass wasn't made in Mexico City, as you mentioned. All MIMs are built in Ensenada, Baja California, since late 80's. Just like Japanese Fenders, the quality of these basses depends on the year they were built on.

as a loyal p-bass player who I`m, I had still this SUHR jazz-bass (formerly Fender masterbuilder) with his orgin maple neck and swampash body, in a way it was a perfect build bass with a fantastic action and respons but the sound was not mine,.. very midrangie with less bottom, for perfect slap and scoop sounds like Marcus Miller. But I´m playing jazzstandarts and need for all that swings, blues and latins a smooth thick and round sound, which I could not get from this bass. So I gave it to Bert... and he does the job very well... with the p-pickup instead of a j - single coil and of course with flatwoundstrings the sound of the bass turns exactly into what I wanted, except for solo´s and improvisation, it´s even much faster than every p-bass can be. Thanks Bert for this clean job. I´ll be back again next time!

Einen Widerspruch muss ich einlegen, der obere Tonabnehmer sitzt in der Mittelposition, nicht in der Halsposition. Aber das meine Meinung, kein Fakt. Ich finde aber, dass ein Rick 400X einen Tonabnehmer in der Halsposition hat, der J-Bass nicht.

I just grabbed a 2016 MIM Flea Jazz Bass. It's very well built, very close to the 1982 Fender Fullerton '62 Jazz Bass reissue I used to own years ago. Maybe the quality control is better on the Fender MIM artist models?
