    The second generation Cesior is all UCF20 and 21. The difference is not based on the model year, it's based on the suspension. 1995-2000 without air suspension is UCF20 and those with air suspension is UCF21.
    I bought a UCF20 Celsior last year with wool seats. It's the base model so no touch screen, thankfully. Even still the display on the stereo doesn't work. The CD changer is in the upper glove box. The best part about the wool seats is that they aren't hot to sit in in the summer and they aren't cold in the winter. Plus they are very soft and comfortable.
    One plus of the 95-97 Celsior over the later models is that the headlights covers are glass instead of plastic to they still look great after 27 years.

    The C F Package like mine (previous celsior on channel), nice pick here ! Mine is on the end to be road legal for France, waiting the papers !

      Hey! Awesome! Thinking about importing one myself, did you need to change anything on the car i.e headlights, additional foglight or any other hurdles to get it road legal in mainland Europe? Also if you don´t mind sharing, how much did it cost all inclusive?

    • @Darktooth_
      @Darktooth_ 4 місяці тому

      @@power3244 15k total(with repair), headlights are ok in France, it only needed a rear fog light

    • @power3244
      @power3244 4 місяці тому

      @@Darktooth_ Hmm interesting, I thought that the lenses on the headlights would be so different (between RHD and LHD) that it wouldn't be allowed in the EU without replacing. But maybe some adjustment was all it needed at the inspection?
      Would you be so kind to share a rough price breakdown? I guess the Spec C F package commands a premium, but 15k is out of reach for me thus far.
      Thank you for your help, much appreciated!

    The Celsior was never offered in AWD only ever RWD once they changed over to the Lexus branding in Japan they introduced the AWD but only with the CVT transmission in the LS600

    Thank you for including the cardboard sleds. I got my cloth seats in my first gen LS from a junkyard. They'd been there for 10 months with a window busted so unfortunately the upper portion is faded but not stained noticably. I could've gotten the seats before it was junked long story but still was a good upgrade from my dingy ripped leather seats.

    Why were woolen seats more desirable in Japanese culture? Not just because they had the same properties as sheepskin covers ( same origin), but , more importantly, for the Japanese, they’re not loud, when scooching around on them, to the point of being vulgar.

      That's the reason why the Century was rarely specced with leather. Wool makes sense for a Century.. .not so much for the Crown that was also available with standard polyester cloth interiors. I'm still confused why they made it a thing on the car.

      I don't think that the USDM one came with wool seats. I think it was just standard synthetic. The reason why the wool is so special to me is because it's expensive to manufacture but not an easy sell over the much cheaper synthetic seat fabric. It's really interesting that Toyota wanted to add this feature and it's really quite rare. I suspect that it was only ever done because the Century also had it and there was some economies of scale to save costs.
