Thank you for your question. I bought this log at the lumber market. We may saw the lumber at the request of the customer, but this time it is different.
This log looks like Sycamore. It has the brown color, the Bark, and the same ray pattern that you have. Not sure if that wood is in your area. Thanks for sharing your work and family. CD

Yes, the rays in Beech are magnificent sometimes ,thinner than White Oak so more dispersed. Arigato

It’s not beech, surely. The medullary rays are far too large. Looks like a species of Plane (Platanus sp.)
