im addicted to breakdowns and i agree with you, they are really good but there re much better ones Your demise, Desolated, A day to Remember, Obey the Brave...
The only thing is, I'm a bit afraid of their concerts... Not because of them, I would love to see them, but because of the others there... Not as if they are rude humans, more because it's kind of... really hardcore, and i don't know if I'd get out there without getting hurt....
Kein Engel just stay away from the pit then, but don't be all the way in the front though unless you want to get kicked by crowd surfers. you need that median where you're at a safe distance from the pit and a safe distance to avoid getting hit by crowd surfers. all in all styg shows are the funnest shows i've been to
The first time I saw Stick To Your Guns, earlier this year, I was going through a bad time in my life, I felt like "nobody" & I know that going to their show made me feel so much better.. singing my heart out & stage diving for the first ever to my favorite song by them, Amber. So this hits me right in the feels. They'll always be one of my favorite bands.
this video tells the exact story of how i came to like metal (don't give me shit about sub-genres ot that it's actually hard core causse i don't give a fuck) and grew to love the comunity and how they just accept you for who you are. No reason to be something your not in metal
What I see about the metal community is that it is becoming more and more close minded and elitist... Just look at the comments in every sub metal genre video, and people fighting over what genre they claim being "the best". Oh, and also don't ever be an emo, pop music fan, gay or any thing that doesnt fit their image of a "metal" listener. Welcome to the metal community ! And Chris, I like Attila and that doesn't make me a bad person, stop stigmatizing
idk man, i wouldn't say we are becoming close minded, but more like we are recovering from a period of colse mindeness (if that's a word idk). But the one's you see on those forums spilling hate are (most of them anyway) all the 70's and 90's purists who can't accept that metal is expanding, and that what's acceptable. But as the name purists says, the refuse to allow anything that doesn't fit in their definition of "pure" metal. But i'd say that were making progress instead of becoming more close minded
if everybody would stop complaining about how they don't like the song and start appreciating the music styg does (and remember it's the music THEY want to do) that'd be great....awesome band, awesome song..
Why can't people voice their opinion of not liking the song, while you voice yours that you do? I like it, but they are just as entitled to speak as you and I are.
Let's just take a minute to appreciate the editing in the video. Stick To Your Guns + amazing editing powers = thrilling video.. *claps for the editors*
STYG sets the bar for pretty much every active hardcore band out right now. This is a big part of hardcore. There is a place for everyone. Thats what makes it the best genre.
George Schmitz Did you guys have to release such a badass track to make the wait even harder?! DO YOU EVEN CARE ABOUT THE FANS?!?!?! Haha but in all seriousness this song kicks ass, cant wait for Disobedient!
iv been going to local shows since i was 7 and im 23. iv learned from over the years, that there might be times of drama and there might be times of when scenes die down a bit but the things you get to experience is beyond the hate. i know its super cheesy hardcore mindset, but i do consider alot of people i see at shows as family. i was in a accident few years back that they had put me in a sedated comma for a week under intensive care and only had 20% rate of survival. i dont have any family were i live and when people from my local music scene found out, there was alot of people very concerned to point that people drove 2 hours to see me at the hospital. its more then just music.
That's insane.... I'm pretty sure they're glad you're okay and I would be concerned myself because I am the same way, every local show where I live has the same people and I'd freak out if I saw one of them hurt
I've followed this band since comes from the heart and although the band changes every album, I've never been disappointed and love the way this band is growing and maturing. I'm a big fan of the music and a huge fan of the lyrics and positive message. I love you guys. You're by far, my favorite band. Keep up the great work!
amazing video. this is relatable to so many people i guarantee that kid was you once, where u were trying to figure it all out and you just couldn't so you took a chance at something new and fell in love instantly and figured out who you were. styg are amazing song writers and this band means a lot to many people.
This band just keeps releasing gems. This is great. They are also one of the best live bands I've seen. Their energy is always high. Can't wait for Disobedient.
At first I wasn't digging the song when it was posted on Facebook, but after I decided to give it a second listen I haven't been able to stop playing this song, it's a grower. Pretty stoked for the rest of this album!
Stick to your guns have always and will always put whatever they want to put out..regardless of what everyone thinks (sorry to disappoint you guys). That's what the bands name comes from if you didn't know already, they've been dicked around their whole career by other bands saying they aren't "hardcore" enough or not "tough" enough..though they still push through and enter their second decade as a band. And by the way, if you still think that they aren't punk enough or pussies or whatever you want to call it, chances are they don't care at all. Also commenting on this video saying they aren't hardcore or punk enough obviously isn't the hardcore way at all, come on elitists you should know that by now, unless you've only been involved for like 2 months.
Preach 😏👏 love stick to your guns, been a fan since the start! They always put out amazing music with a great message and their shows are so much fun 😊
Look past the change in sound (which I think they sound the same as they have, it's just natural progression) and in the lyrics you'll find that familiar STYG. This song is great idk what you're complaining about. Lyrics are on point, instruments are sharp and hard. Love this shit. Can't wait for the album to drop.
I listen to a lot of genres of rock and metal; post grunge, black metal, death metal, heavy metal, post hardcore, sometimes pop punk and new wave for when I'm not in the hardcore mode. I have to say though, STYG have really managed to strike balance between a lot of genres; punk, rock *and* metal all very prominent (if there's even that much a difference, but it's pretty clear what I mean). I'm very excited for their new album, but I don't know if I can wait a whole four months before listening. I hope they leak it a little sooner. At any rate, great job on their part.
On the flyer, SNAKE EATER is the co-headliner! A true STYG fan knows about this band! Grew up sharing the stage with George in that band before his shinning moments in stick to your guns! KC 81666 represent!!! Love Josh, formally of Man the Cannons
Nothing wrong with a long wait, all part of the new album cycle. especially since its STYG DOESN't MEAN I'm not dying to hear the rest of the album, i spilled my tofu chicken noodle soup watching this at work..
People are all talking about their favourite STYG albums and I'm like.. Well it's a tie between Diamond, Comes From the Heart and Hope Division LOLOL. This is an amazing introduction to Disobedient! By the time this video came out I had already memorized all the lyrics already :P
saw them live once during this song when Jesse says "we have no face we have no name" he pulled his shirt up and covered his face 10/10 best band to see live
Crazy how their sound has changed from their alum For What Its Worth to this, I've always liked this band, good music and very positive outlook. Thumbs up to them. Too bad I don't go to shows anymore lol
STYG are good at making catchy fast heavy songs,Stick To Your Guns introduced me to Hardcore, started with Terror, Backtrack and Rotting out, slowly enjoying more underground hardcore/Punk bands.
I can't say I like their new sound but STYG always delivers when it comes to the content of their music. I love these guys for introducting me to J. Krishnamurti.
That 'OOO!' was amazing! Replayed it like 10 times. Plus, the message in this song is absolutely wonderful, STYG knows how to do it! Great job guys!!!!
This band keeps getting tighter and tighter. Have come far since the 'Colourblind' days. Good to see a hardcore band that isnt afraid to sing a few words. Good words at that. Stoked for the next Toronto date.
Trust me I know when you look at me, you see nothing at all!!! woo-oooh!!! for the first time I could say that im proud of being NOBODY at all!! woo-oooh!!!!
THAT "OOH" WAS LEGIT NYC OLD SCHOOL BEATDOWN KINDA JIBBY
I DIG IT
That feeling when you go to your first show and finally feel like you belong.
All I ever found in the scene was more cliche bs and groups excluding people. I hope most people's experiences were different.
oh know it!
not gonna lie , that "ooh" breakdown was dope!
fucking love that "ooh" breakdown. STYG has always had the best breakdowns in my opinion
im addicted to breakdowns and i agree with you, they are really good but there re much better ones Your demise, Desolated, A day to Remember, Obey the Brave...
I'm the dude that lifts up his arm in the crowd to catch the guy jumping after that "ooh" breakdown lmao
SuperSharot Such Pain by STYG has my favorite breakdown of all time haha
owningall The one in Empty Heads goes hard as well haha
Josh Smith do we?
Moral of the story:
Go see Stick To Your Guns at least once in your lifetime.
Continuation of the story:
See them again... and again.
The only thing is, I'm a bit afraid of their concerts... Not because of them, I would love to see them, but because of the others there... Not as if they are rude humans, more because it's kind of... really hardcore, and i don't know if I'd get out there without getting hurt....

they're amazing live
Saw them 6 times and hopefully at Self Help again
The first time I saw Stick To Your Guns, earlier this year, I was going through a bad time in my life, I felt like "nobody" & I know that going to their show made me feel so much better.. singing my heart out & stage diving for the first ever to my favorite song by them, Amber. Epic band love you guys come to Pitt again soon.
THAT CHORUS
The music, the music video idea, it all works for me. Fuck, this is great. I've never been disappointed with anything that STYG puts out.
1:18 - 1:20
sounds like star wars TIE fighter :D
omg i laugh so hard at this 😂😂😂
Lol now i can't unhear that
That "ooooo" bit of 2:07 ...
DAMN George's drumming is getting more awesome with each album. Styg never fail to deliver
this video tells the exact story of how i came to like metal (don't give me shit about sub-genres ot that it's actually hard core causse i don't give a fuck) and grew to love the comunity and how they just accept you for who you are.
No reason to be something your not in metal
You've clearly have never met an Attila fan.
Those guys just hate women.
I mean like stupidly hate women.
wwfchriswwf why?

I want that ignite jacket Jesse is wearing
Love it, the bass/drum intro is a real throw back to early punk and hardcore!
You can tell they put a lot of effort into this, i fucking love it :D
Needs more converge influences
Agreed, they do a good job of paying homage to the bands that came before them, while adding positive messages that are all their own.
TYFLOL EVERYTHING needs more Converge influences
Disagreement. Needs more Bad Religion cues
Hands down one of THE best choruses in all of music. You can't change my mind.
jesse's screaming sounds so good @2:19
Now we just have to wait 4 months for the rest FFFFFUUUUCCCCCKKKKK
hahahaha well now, they're might be some surprises to tide you over in the interim
George Schmitz Did you guys have to release such a badass track to make the wait even harder?! DO YOU EVEN CARE ABOUT THE FANS?!?!?!
Haha but in all seriousness this song kicks ass, cant wait for Disobedient!
George Schmitz yo relay this to the band: music video would have been way cooler if the kid ended up doing guest vocals at the end
neilpeartrocks2112 haha I will relay that message.
mirraco323 WE ARE A BUNCH OF SADISTS ONLY LOOKING TO PUNISH YOU!!!! MWAAAAUUUHAHAHAHA
even though I couldn't find myself in the video I'm proud to say I was there. Was so fun recording this video with them.
