Behind the Scenes: How Harbor Pilots Navigate Mega Cruise Ships

I was on Independence of the Seas during Halloween, and had upgraded to a 3rd level ocean view cabin only a week earlier (with the big circular window). As we left the port of Miami, I noticed the pilot boat approaching and got very excited when it proceeded to spend at least five minutes RIGHT NEXT TO MY WINDOW! I could still see the back end of the boat when it picked up the pilot and got some great close-up photos of him waving goodbye to the ship. I'm so grateful I had run across this video last year so I knew what I was looking at and the significance of it. Truly one of the most special memories from my trip. Thank you!
