Hi Kirby, I'm so grateful that I found your channel. I'm enjoying your Cuba 🇨🇺 series now. It was a good catch that the lighter case was too short. Hopefully, they can make the pouch taller, yet retain the ability to insert and remove the lighter with ease. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out!
I have seen, I would say, about 12 of Kirby's offerings. I don't know why but this one captured my attention the most. I believe its the staff at Jean Rousseau Atelier. They are original. They CAD guy freaks me out a little, I love being surprised by his nonchalant demeanor
Agree Kirby, the case should completely surround/protect the lighter. If any of it is to be exposed, it should not be any of the 8 corners. (Leaving only an opening on the side(s) or no opening at all). I think the design at the end of this video falls far short of what you’re envisioning. Hopefully the finished product will be beauty, protection, and functional (easy to put lighter in and out). Without any doubt it will be quality craftsmanship. Can’t wait to see it.
hello kirby, I'm Abdul, 20 years old liked your videos so much i always watch your all videos because i like your bespoke content i want more videos on bespoke suits and bespoke shoes hope you make those soon. hope i would meet you soon some day to gain some more classic bespoke knowledge as you are an expert in bespoke category.
Impressive seeing that they are using keyshot for 3d and that they are able to develop that quickly. as a product engineer i can see it takes a lot to do that, especially for a business like that
A sleeve or pouch would also keep the "ping" audible. A capped or sealed case would muffle the sound of the lighter. Looking forward to seeing the final product.
For me one of the most distinctive features of these series apart from the stuff and fabrics… I would sign the refinement of the prosody and English elegance, it does not snobbish but cool and polite, You always have to find something you identify in, not matter just if luxury or not, in essence play with your natural skills and prospects. Something that educational system is not used to it.
I would probably had asked for a small golden strap of a soft cloth (maybe linen or something) for on the inside of the case.. so then you could give a little tuck on that little strap to slide the lighter out of the case more easily. I could even see that incorporate with the leather strap coming over the top, that when you open it it already tucks it out just exactly enough that you are able to take the lighter out completely.. (I hope I explained my vision well enough)
I don’t doubt the quality of their products but this was not a good advert for JR. When asked for something outside of their normal range, they seemed a bit lost. They did not put forward any worthy ideas, luckily Kirby was there to guide them. May I suggest a tab to lift the lighter from the case. If the case fits well, which you would hope,it may be difficult to remove it. Looking forward to seeing the finished product. Keep up the good work Kirby. I appreciate your commitment to sharing new products, ideas and information, and letting us share your journey.
I think that two cases could be commissioned; one pouch style and one like she originally drew. I think her design was intriguing. You might also consider a KA monogram, but pressed into the leather, not printed.
I feel a Kirby Allison Lighter Case coming to the market soon! Seriously, I get your drift..... why cover up a beautiful lighter for ever? You just want to protect it in transit. However, an option along the lines of the lady's first suggestion would have been interesting too.
18:47 I'm confused a bit. Does the croc case sticks to the lighter permanently or it's possible to remove it from the case .. There's no way I would accept they glue a case to such a handsome looking lighter ..
It doesn't look like covering the lighter permanently is a good idea. The lighter itself is a piece of art that has to be proudly displayed and visually enjoyed all by itself, not in a pouch.
What an amazing idea to just leverage your strap with a lighter case. Being perfectly honest, I'm not sure about the design at this stage. If the whole lighter covered, how will you be able to take it out? It has to fit snugly. Maybe they will come with some solution, but that isn't clear from the video.
I think communication and listening was lacking here. Kirby seems to want a case with the same leather and gold thread as the watch strap, that he can take the lighter out of when he want's to, but something that fully covers the lighter and is fully functional while in the case too. I don't think that was fully understood by the Designers.

The attitude of the artist is highly questionable for such a high-end outfit...she clearly did not listen to the customer (Kirby) and continued to try to sell "her" idea.
Is it me or the staff just looks very awkward, it looks like that don't talk to people often or maybe they are camera shy. Also it will be good to see the final product on this vid so is more complete.
Kirby I've got to say that compared to the bespoke houses you normally associate with, this is not it. Both the sales rep and Michelle were very disappointing. Poor active listening and a clear lack of understanding and experience with the subject matter. I for one would take my business elsewhere - we have amazing bespoke makers in Sydney who while not providing the "prestige" and heritage of a renowned brand, would produce a better experience and product at a much cheaper price. I'm sure off camera you politely provided the feedback and reworked a superior design given the price of this product.
Michelle is very beautiful asian lady. But she looks very dangerous :) I bet she is a professional assassin with pro leather craftsmanship skills and if she is Nathaniel definitely makes her weapons :))
"We are not there yet" was not the most diplomatic response to the store assistant's suggestion of "his and hers" products. That's flirting with a night on the couch. How about? "What an excellent idea, when we both visit the store!"
I don't really think it's too much at all. Actually I'm thinking of getting them to make a bespoke cover for my tooth brush. My budget is 12 thousand and I really hope they can make it within my budget. 😂
Kirby's Great, he's started a channel that has allowed the world to see exactly why the upper class pay such large sums for the highest quality items. Some of it is fascinating.
Sorry, a leather case for a Dupont lighter is just WRONG! Pure wankerism. Why not just ask them to make a leather strap that also covers the dial and case of your watch as well?
Well they showed him a 80% solution. You can see, that the lighter is not protected completely and the higher part is still unprotected, so if Kirby grabs the case with the lighter and it falls down on the floor, it still could damage the upper part of the lighter, so no logic in this. The lighter should be covered completely, because the purpose is pure protection, which Kirby tells them in the end. Somehow I think, that employes in Jean Russeau want littlebit to force their visions on their customers, wchich I really don´t like, because you pay a lot of money for the products and it is bespoke, which means customer own vision and not the other way. Maybe I am mistaken, but I would feel that way at least for a few minutes.
of course this is art too.

The boutique director taking the time and being very personable!

Haha, isn’t this a pleasant surprise seeing you here. The combo of you and Kirby isn’t really something that had ever crossed my mind.
Kirby's face when she explains that his St Dupont lighter would be permanently covered up.
I know, she does not quite get the significance of that lighter and being able to enjoy its own design aesthetic LOL
They didn’t understand what he wanted the whole way through. Should be interesting seeing the final product
Soul left his body for 2 seconds
@@Mrthrope probably because what man wants a lighter purse, lol
I liked the first watch strap video, and now here is another. Awesome to see!

I really like your watch content, I would love to see more!
Yes here too
Cool to see Shayna in real life. She's helped with 2 Vacheron and a Lange watch strap for me. Hope your project goes great!
Can't wait to see the finished case! It's going to be beautiful and fit for a lighter like S.T. Dupont.
Watching the design process was great! Very interesting stuff ❤
I love his suit
Great, make more videos like this!
Always love these kinds of videos!

I think a hidden magnet would be cool to secure the flap. Looking forward to seeing the end product.
Nice idea Kirby.
Very nice. It will be interesting to see how you open or even remove it from the case now it’s covered to the top.
A sleeve or pouch would also keep the "ping" audible. A capped or sealed case would muffle the sound of the lighter. Looking forward to seeing the final product.
Yes. It’s strict preference that the lighter be able to be fully removed.
I agree about the design needing more protection of the top corners but we didn't see any re-design. Anyway, looking forward to seeing the end result
We discussed at the end. The final design will be modified.

When can we expect to see the final piece? Looking forward to it.
Im not sure what took them so long to figure out what you wanted. You made it quite clear.
Wanted to showcase the design process and that there were many different possibilities.
That's a fantastic suit. Best I've seen yet!
Prince of Wales double breasted from Divij.com!
Are there going to be pouch fitting visits? Can't wait to see them.
2 hr video of Michelle sketching on paper, done as ASMR.
I’d be down for that!!
I agree 👍
True 😂

I've used these guys once before to make a custom watch strap. They do beautiful work, but you have to know what you want going in.
Nice!

Yes a blank piece of paper
You should put a deployant clasp on to extend the strap life
nice suit
That tie is phenomenal! It’s not on the website, where is it from?
I would like to see a mini-cigar leather case for the lighter…two pieces..top comes off or a flap over the top covering the top
I think that two cases could be commissioned; one pouch style and one like she originally drew.

The design we went with allows the the lighter to be removed.
It doesn't look like covering the lighter permanently is a good idea. The lighter itself is a piece of art that has to be proudly displayed and visually enjoyed all by itself, not in a pouch.
Is there a list (or could a feature be done in the future) of top tier international shops that have studios here in the U.S.?
I wouldn’t know where to begin….
26:50 how strong is that hand shake it left marks on the hand of the guy 😂
What an amazing idea to just leverage your strap with a lighter case.

He needs to sign off the image he thinks he's buying, not the image he's altered.
Look, keyshot is used for real time rendering🎉
I think communication and listening was lacking here.

He says that he just wants basically a pouch that he would take the lighter in and out of. So he doesn’t want it to be used while in the case.
You’re gonna have to do the cigar case now.
Kirby should have them make him a holster for his pistol. Probably illegal to do in NYC these days.
