I recently visited the shop and I was surprised on how small the space was. Your team did some great camera work as the filming makes that shop look so much larger than it is. Jean Rousseau have some amazing straps and am looking forward to getting some for my set of watches soon.

Custom straps are great. I have watches that I hadn’t worn much until new life was given by the addition of a custom strap! ( and quick release pins take the stress out of changing straps)
Great looking watch strap. Kirby's jacket however was the star of the video. Great cloth and color. It was well paired with the shirt, tie and pocket square.

Kirby a little tip. You can also consider having straps made with deployant clasps instead of tang buckles. Deployants preserve the strap for longer and you don't get those nasty creases on the hole you use
And you also get the benefit of it being less comfortable.

Just picked up a custom strap from Jean Rousseau in New York. Not quite the bespoke experience, but I got pretty much exactly what I wanted (dark blue semi-gloss alligator) and a similar level of service. They do amazing work.
Oh Kirby, next time you're in Piccadilly Arcade, please drop by the Jeffery West shoe store and showcase some of the wildly 'Alternative' styles there. Hopefully Marc Jeffery or Guy West might be there. You'll personally be entertained, and so with your loyal State-side viewers. PS: I have over 8 pairs of shoes from this brand in the UK.

I was able to remotely order a custom strap for my Reverso from Casa Fagliano. So many choices and options to decide on during the process. It came out beautiful.

My very first "nice" watch I ever purchased I bought some quick release straps for. I was riding my motorcycle on the highway a couple weeks later and and went to look at my watch to find out that the quick release had in fact released while I was riding and my watch was somewhere on the highway. Didn't feel it fall of my wrist because of the vibrations of the motorcycle I guess. That's one reason why someone wouldn't wear a quick release strap. I only ride with nato straps now.

You should visit Oxford, Kirby. Lots of additional layers of heritage for you to sample.
Sadly, Oxford has lost many of its traditional shops, except for a few that remain in the area immediately round the covered market. Like so many historic British cities, it has too many cheap looking Harry Potter-esq souvenir shops full of cheap tat. The colleges remain as beautiful as ever.
@russ9921 I dare say you're right, my friend. It's certainly not what it was, although as you say, sone shops do remain and there is some heritage left that hasnt been destroyed by marxism. Just start on the High Street and Broad Street and the interconnecting avenues.

Appreciate the video, however if anyone wants a Jean Rousseau strap really consider your options. There are tons of ateliers around the world that will do the same bespoke work for a 1/3 of the price.

In fact, a true "snobby" custom-made leather strap only comes with a single hole in the leather, which only & exactly fits the actual owner of that time piece !
I wouldn't recommend it, your wrist will subtly change size depending on the weather.

I am totally blind. I have no vision whatsoever. But there are talking watches that are made for the blind, and the quality of the bands are atrocious. This is so cool because at least I would have a talking watch with a elegant band.
