God the husky is so good looking! I just rode my 23 300xc yesterday for the first time. Thing rips! Kind of a handful in slower technical terrain but very fun. I agree, this is the best 2 stroke motor ever made.
Nice job. I just bought the 2024 KTM 300 XC. Looks like they put a couple nicer options on the husky such as protaper bars and did rims. Not a real big deal just saying. I love this bike. Went to MX track first ride and it was fantastic. I am coming off a 2022 KTM 450. Heading to the woods today. I'm sure it is going to be fantastic.
I just recently replaced my 23’ start/stop switch with the Nihilo. I race in the NORCS series and it’s from a dead start. The Nihilo was noticeably faster to get started 🤙🏻
Got my orange version of this bike a week or so ago and it's such a good all rounder. I love the spring fork and I haven't had any issues at all running a fan in some moderate enduro. I know lots of guys have issues but our local group has been fine, just keep the fan at a higher temp kick in so it isn't on all the time.
Nice review! happy to see manufacturers changing things that final users have complaint. The new wp close cartridge is for me the best upgrade, air fork as well as OC xplor forks were the weakest point in the whole ktm lineup.
This is gonna be my next bike. Can’t do the grey n yellow plastic tho. She’ll get the full Rockstar graphics from Factory Effex. It’s either this bike or the 24 KTM 300 XC TBI 👍
I'm in the same boat & just put deposit on 24 KTM enduro version (not called Erzbergrodeo this year? That's what dealership said). The other issue is I get better price on Husqvarna so I don't know which but KTM is in the front at the moment lol
The 2-3k savings at dealers right now will pay for much nicer spring setups anyways! It’s a great deal if you can get an XC with Brembo or don’t mind the braktec stuff on the TX!
Nice looking. I still like my TM Racing EN300 though. Been bitten by KTM/Husky/GasGas in the past. Italy nails the enduro sweet spot better than anyone.
I’d agree with you up until now. I rode the 19 with a lectron for over a year and loved it but this bike is the full package! Best motor and suspension I’ve rode yet from Husky.
I'd agree. I have a 2018 tx 300. And a 2024 tx 300. The 2018 motor and transmission seems better suited to my riding, it has more bottom end power and less shifting needed. The 2024 revs out higher. 2024 feels lighter and handles better. Just my opinion.
I just rode a 24 TX 300 and posted a video riding a 23 back to back for comparison. I felt the old Oil/Spring designed forks are a step in the wrong direction. The forks feel heavy and drop the bike more when tapping the rear brake in the air. Sluggish. On rocky slow stuff they are great, but fast sand, deep whoops, fast washes. aggressive speeds they marginal. On a motocross track they seem dangerous and require springs. The TX, FX, XC models are supposed to be diverse bikes not trail or enduro only. Having access to enduro rides, then motocross tracks, open desert, requires a bunch of effort or time to make them work. Minimum time with a pump and the airforks shine for diversity. If was replacing my 23 husky with a 24, I would rather get a motocross version and suffer with a small tank a 5 speed versus the compromised chassis caused by the heavy oil/spring fork. I wish KTM would offer a trade up option to the higher tech airForks, for those of us that want a bike that can do more than just trail/enduro riding.
Funny how that works because my opinion is the exact opposite haha. I have about 40 hours on my 24 now and I would pay a large premium to keep these spring forks. I think they are better on virtually every terrain I’ve rode them in including moto. I have rode them back to back as well. I definitely understand what you are saying but every other manufacturer uses a traditional oil spring fork and I think it just comes down to preference and adjustability. It’s hard to argue with the ability to respring the air forks with a few pumps, that is cool. I’d go as far as saying I am happier with these stock spring forks then I was with $3k A kit KYBs on my gas gas. An hour into a hare scramble and the harshness of hot air starts to creep in too. I definitely respect your thoughts and appreciate you sharing this info, I have several friends that buy the moto version and add a tank/etc for offroad. I also have a pro level motocross friend that is frustrated the moto bikes still come with aer instead of the traditional spring. Pretty interesting how we all love different things and feelings
@@XploreEnduro ya, I see all that too and if I owned them I’m sure would have to re-spring them which would change the dynamics a lot. Many times you get the spring to do the work, for the right weight on the bike and I only have experience on the stock 24’ spring rate. I don’t race dez or motocross anymore as I have gotten older, so for me just to go out and have some fun and make the adjustments on the fly is so nice, having air to offset the weight of a pack/water, a drone, heavy drone batteries, keeps it simple. In particular, where I live, I might be riding at 45 degree temps one day then 3 days later I’m riding in 90 degree temps on a track. However, I probably should clarify, that I’m not saying the air forks are awesome , rather I can make them pretty good for all my terrain I ride, quickly and easily without pulling them apart. I do like the lighter weight factor . I just wish there was an option from KTM so it was not just one option, across the board with GasGas, KTM, and Husky. So for me I would rather have an OK fork for everything, than an awesome fork for rough terrain, that can suffer on aggressive situations. Which always seemed the case when I race professionally in desert, I had to have a second set for moto. I’m just old and don’t want to fuss with them much. Lol
Does it have a plug behind the number plate to mount a headlight by any chance ?and the same for a dumb fan ? I know the TE’s have a plug under the tank for the fan to plug and play. Thanks, awesome bike, great review
No it doesn’t. The TX models don’t come with any wiring for lights/fan. I plan to buy the TE harness or the True North Motos Harness once I can get my hands on a better stator.
I don't understand why people ate saying 24 when they're a 23 mdl (Im not sure if they were tbi or TPI at the dealership day ago). They look identical with the grey etc. I'll go in store tomorrow as i really want to know if in buying now or waiting. Ill be watching your vids so keep em coming 👍
Great video. Have you had any issues with that small nose panel on the brake side? It covers the shock body. Mine seems to fit poorly and is difficult to get it to fit. Thanks for the video
Very similiar! I believe it will be TBI with oil injection and have the enduro components! With an xplor closed cartridge fork. But I’m just guessing, we will know soon!
Absolutely don’t buy a TBI if you aren’t ready for a new bike BUT. . . . I’ve owned both a 17 and 18 husky and I would pick this 2024 every single time over them! 💪🏼 it’s a really great bike.
Good video, but you are pointing out lots of things that were just supply issue, aka the non o ring chain. some 2023 TX 300 had o ring chain, some didnt. Surprised you want the brembo pull also, the braketec pull i felt for the clutch was far superior than the brembo which is stiffer.
“Supply issue” shouldn’t be an excuse from Husky when we pay $12k+ for these bikes! The braktec clutch is great but the brake components are super inconsistent, some bikes they work great but my 23 model they hardly worked at all! The hinge mount also breaks easier on the braktec. All of it is great but I’ve come to trust the brembo systems and this 24 clutch has a really nice pull to it! I appreciate your thoughts on the braktec
1) assuming "normal" and "no race", but hard enduro use, how much distance can You ride? Can You disappear in the bush for a whole day or You need to bring fuel? This video was uploaded 9 months ago, I thought and I hope You got some "long distance" experience. 2) what are the problems with BrakeTec brakes? Or is it just a snobby complain against BrakeTec?
Hard enduro you can probably expect 50-55 miles out of a tank. Racing you’ll run out at 40 if you’re lucky. Some of the braktec are good but lots of them are not consistent and don’t bleed/work well. I think they improve each year tho, just hiccups initially.
I sold it about 2 weeks after buying it. I couldn’t stand spending 12k on a bike that the brakes didn’t work. Luckily the 24 came with brembos that actually work!
