  • This is a comprehensive review of the Husky 2023 TX 300 TBI fuel injected two stroke dirt bike aiming to answer a simple question: Should you buy a TBI in 2023? I also go a step further, and comment on the just-released 2024 models, including the Husky TE and KTM XC-W.
    Testing was completed in Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Utah and Colorado.

    Another great review! I'm currently in the market for a 2024 XCW or TE, but can't decide which to pull the trigger on. Think I'm leaning XCW at this point, but I've never ridden a non linkage bike so that's my only hold up.

      The TE TBI bike is about to get the Husky Pro Edition and it will have Brembo...this might be the best bike built, period. Exact same bike as the XCW but with Linkage. It's TBI, Brembo equipped with other goodies for the hard enduro and an all around woods weapon.

    Great video man, never heard of you but consider me sub'd. You confirmed some of my fears, I have an 18 300xcw (looking to ditch the barb) and a tx300 on deposit. I truly love the plush ride I have and not excited to hear how harsh the tx is (nor the stator chargin issues) for technical enduro (I mostly ride moab, colorado single track, rocky TX trails). Unfortunately there just aren't any xcw's around so I may be stuck with the tx300.
    Cheers man, you put an an excellent, excellent video.

      I think you'll still be psyched on the bike. Worst case is you get the suspension revalved, throw in a bigger battery and maybe put a flywheel weight in. Don't forget, I've got a well setup GasGas EX300 in the garage that has seen basically 0 hours since I picked up the TX. That should tell you everything...

    Great review and video! Just not understanding the complaints about the Braketec vs Brembo. Comparing my 21 ec300 to my 22 ex300 I notice the brembo is more grabby but I prefer the modulation of the braketec. Both seem to have the same power with the same pads. I think the braketec may come with different pads than the brembo it seems. Just got rid of my 23 TM300EN with brembo and never liked the front brake. I also feel like the braketec clutch has an easier pull than brembo. If the Enduro models can be made to rip like the cross country bikes with a head change (cylinders all have same part #) then the enduro model is the way to go, for me anyway. I'm 6'3 205. Better stator, oil injected, spring forks etc. Hope you find a job and able to review the 24 bikes ha ha.

    • @JeffreyJim09
      @JeffreyJim09  11 місяців тому +1

      Funny. I had similar thoughts at first. However, the more I pushed the bike, longer the descents I found myself on & less I was stopping (race situations) the more I felt I was missing the Brembo stuff. I can brake later with brembo and I also feel more precise with it. Like I said in the review, its not a deal breaker, but something to think about if you are expecting a total 1:1 swap. It is different.

    Jeff, great video. Just found the video last night looking at 24 Husky TX300 content. Gonna buy a 2024 TX300 next year. Not a fan of the gray shrouds and neon yellow plastic tho. Factory Effex sells the Rockstar graphics kit. Nihilo makes separate start / stop buttons and a radiator cap removal tool. FMF blue titanium muffler will be a great add on too

    Had my 23 tx for a while now and wanted to know if u have that little low rpm miss. Its not a huge deal, but it runs perfectly for the first hour or so then loses that immediate throttle response. Bit of a pain when u wanna give it a little blip to raise the front wheel over something
    Is it a fuel ratio issue, as in, is it getting richer as the bike and air heats? Can that be adjusted? or is it electrical??

    Hey buddy great review! But I must say I’m surprised with your choice of the cross country version for the type of riding you do. I would think that you would just go with the TE or XC-W platform seems like that would alleviate a lot of the issues you were having with your TX. Is there any particular reason that you chose the cross country version over the other?

    • @JeffreyJim09
      @JeffreyJim09  2 місяці тому

      Yes! Simply, the XC-W and TE were not out in TBI configuration at the point I purchased this bike. That said, I'm still not sure I'd go TE or XC-W due to the way the motor has been detuned (but I'd likely try it). Unlike the past, the transmission is the same on the TX as it is TE, too. With the way my bike is setup, its really not too different than the TE...

    This is an outstanding and very thorough review. I’m deciding between the 23 TX300 and a 23 GG EX300. You seemed to really enjoy the 21 GG in your long term review. I ride mostly tight single track in central OR and am coming off a 2008 CRF250, so either bike will be a massive upgrade. Both bikes are on sale with the husky costing $500 more. Do you have any input on one vs the other?

    sounds like an xcw is a better bike for you, tune susp, and can put a head plus ECU to get some ponies back.....I am getting back into riding after 10 years and contemplating xc or xcw......rode mx my whole life and shooting for offroad weekend trips now.....we have more high speed dez but there are some trails.....decisions decisions
    though about the Beta too but parts are easier for KTMs

    • @JeffreyJim09
      @JeffreyJim09  3 місяці тому

      You are likely right. That said, the XC-W wasn't out when I bought this. To add, the W supposedly has a steeper HTA from those who have ridden it, which I'm not so sure about (both if its true and if I'd like that).
      The TE is likely what I'd buy if I were to do it again. To add, I don't need all the power, just the right kind of power.

      Slightly, yes. I was pretty clear in articulating how minor the difference is, but it’s there. That said, the difference is very notable when comparing the stock braketech stuff to the pull to a brembo 9mm master cylinder.

      @@onthethrottle7104FWIW, I never said its being installed on a stock bike. What I am suggesting is you can always change to a 9mm on the Brembo stuff. This isn't possible with the Braketech stuff.
