We always do two extra top coats of our outdoor grade lacquer to make them water resistant :) have fun making them! So great to have something fully personalised for your home! 😊 - they also make great gifts!

I'm going to make some "William Morris" napkin tiles for Fire surrounds & room borders in kitchen....happy gluing😊(did U make own glue/ water mix?....)
Thank you, I'm glad it was helpful 😊 We use the chalk paint lacquer that we sell as it's a great top coat, but you can also water down a standard white school glue until it runs off the brush - you don't want it too thick. I'll have to check that episode out, I love Escape to the Chateau and went to their live show when they came down to New Zealand 😄

The pros are that it is thin so doesn't give too many wrinkles or bubbles and that it's exterior grade making it perfect for putting drinks on. PVA is a cheaper option and can definitely be used. When using PVA we recommend watering it down so that it runs off your brush before using. Hope that helps!
You want to brush the glue on really lightly over the top, don't press your brush down too hard. You also don't need much glue on your brush, the napkins tend to tear when they get too wet. You can also remedy any torn areas, when dry tear another bit out of your napkin and patch it on. I hope that helps :)

Excellent guide thanks. What were you using as a glue medium? I've tried both PVA glue and lacquer. Are there pros and cons to these?
