It's very sad to see all the fire damage. I've done a lot of hiking in flagstaff recently and seeing a lot of it there too. Thanks for the comment Andrew!
@@jeremyecton3659 Oh that is just so sad. Sorry to switch topics, but since I have you here, I'm doing a 2-day loop of Humphrey this weekend and noticed you have a video of you doing Doyle Spring....do you know if that spring is more of a name? Or is there actually a perennial water source there? I've gone up Humphreys a few times from that side and never seen any water (other than to hear it tantalizingly close in those pipes at the Raspberry Spring pump station).
@@andrewupjohn892 There might be a spring there part of the year, but when I went I did not see it. At the top of Doyle peak there is a small cabin which is kind of interesting though - might be worth checking out...
Awesome video Jeremy! Wow, you're right, very rugged area but definitely with its own beauty. What a neat thing it is you do, getting out there and experiencing these amazing places. Thanks for sharing them!
I did ridgleline from siphon draw to petoglypics and back in prep for rim to rim. Totalled 16 mi and didnt see anybody the whole time for miles. Rugged, besutiful and at times sketchy backcountry. Carry a satellite locator (garmin inreach, zoleo) and let people know your plans. Gps for trail map is good too. That trail prepared me well for grand canyon. Fire damage is gone now
Nice thanks for updates and suggestions. Agree sketchy and not a lot of people if something bad happens - always good to have a way to signal for help wout cell service
I highly recommend it, really not much more effort once you get to the top and the views are incredible along the ridgeline. Just note though, the trail isnt very easy to follow (easy to get lost in my opinion) so I do recommend GPS if possible.
Indeed unfortunate but still beautiful nonetheless. The ridgeline trail connects to siphon draw (flatiron) and hieroglyph trail. Normally people start at the ridgeline trail and hike to flatiron (point to point) but I just hiked up flatiron and did part of ridgeline and turned back. It was so beautiful I was tempted to do the entire ridgeline and back but that would have turned into about 30 miles with 8k feet of climbing. Maybe one day...
I do not typically post those but thats good input. I can certainly start putting out my recordings. In this case I didnt finish an official hike, but the majority of the trail recorded here is called "superstition ridgeline trail". It connects to flatiron/siphon draw trail. Most people will do a point to point where they start in carney springe, following the ridgeline trail to siphon draw trail but I didnt have a ride back to my car parked at siphon draw trailhead so just did an out and back...hope that helps/answers your question
Very effective way to show others the hiking path without all the needless in between. Thank you.
Thanks for the comment! It's a big reason I started this channel, to just share the trail. Its nice for me too to relive it...
So many good memories in that trail
same here!
What a beautiful video . Thanks for sharing !
Glad you enjoyed it!
I've hiked this a few times and this really brings me back. Sad to see all that fire damage is sticking around.
Great videos, btw.

Thanks for sharing, I always wondered what it looked like from that view. I have to make my way up there one of these days.

Do you have a mapout of the trails combined you'd be willing to share?

Did you happen to come across the T-38 crash site?
I didn't see it but could have just missed it...
It’s on an offshoot of siphon draw before reaching flatiron.
@@stephenking2499 thanks. I was there 35 years ago during Pilot Training at Williams AFB and hoping to make it back this spring while in Phoenix.
@@stephenking2499 thanks for info, will have to look for it next time im up there
