That is a really nice watch. I like the two tone dial and the fact it comes with a leather strap.

I really like the watch, especially the dial and the bracelet! I will try to buy it on the secondary market though...

Thank you for a really good review- I have the same watch and it really is beautiful, the movement is one of the smoothest to wind I have ever owned- better than my Reverso.

I'm really enjoying mine. For a Hodinkee limited edition, I thought it was pretty good value. Like you pointed out. I took mine off the bracelet straight away as well. The supplied strap is okay but currently looking for other options. Great video

I got a great navy leather strap with cream stitching from Geckota and it really suits this watch- the blue matches the hands and the cream the dial. I cannot remember the name but it was very good value too.

Indeed, I think they have slotted into an excellent price point now and offer some great pieces. Enjoy!

I got it, not the hodinkee edition but the white one. I loved it so much and really nice companion together with a prx powermatic blue that I've had for quite awhile now. But my hype died after 2 days, until I mirror polished only the top side of the bezel. I guess to the initial design of it with brushed bezel that made the attention of the eyes spread through out the watch, which also made it looks bigger than it should. With mirror polished bezel the watch looks smaller, the focus of my eyes drop directly to the dial, and it really pops and complements nicely with the brushed section of the dial, and made the whole design coherent especially later when I'll get the bracelet together with this watch. As a watchmaker I am lucky to be able to do so but I think you could go to your nearest swatch group service center and request to mirror polish the top side of the bezel only. I've handled the black version and the hodinkee edition but the white one is the one to go, with the simple but interesting design such as the art deco numerals, and the cross hatch on the dial reminds me of the omega constellation from the 50-60s, which was lacked in the hodinkee version, and the underwhelming hands on black version also didn't help. One thing that made my mind to pull the trigger on this watch was the movement itself has a magnet plate for the subsecond wheel that act as a friction spring on the old indirect driven central second hands back in 1940-1970s movement, which made the subsecond hand moves smoothly. Then the watch movement itself is like omega, anti magnetic, as it has literally a magnet inside it. The only other watch movement with magnets used in it was the Longines modular chronograph derived from 2894 movement, in the running second indication.

I just sold my Longines sector dial. I like it. It’s probably the best most honest sector dial on the market. However, I was underwhelmed when I got it. Maybe the lug width? Maybe the feel of it? I don’t know. It just didn’t do it for me and I really wanted to connect with this watch. Also I got a call for a Rolex Explorer. So I sold it to pay some bills. Plus it’s tough for another watch to compete with an Explorer.

Oh man, I'd do the same in that situation. Yes completely different watches but congrats! Enjoy your new Explorer

I just got mine and I noticed the strap tool that comes with it does not have the Longines logo on it like yours does

Awesome video! i’m in love with mine. Question did hodinkee fill out your watch’s warranty card or is it blank? (Mine is blank)

Strap looks similar to my Big Eye.

Upvoted, but this watch is hideous. Hodinkee is a net negative for watch collectors.

@William Pipe It's fine, I will be sure to keep it sealed in an air-tight container, can't wait

@William Pipe Yeah ikr, I try and avoid breathing in the same polluted air as those freaks outside. Hey no worries, maybe good ol' Joe will fix it, why don't you ask Jack before he tanks the entire global economy.

30m is fine for most people- unless you work with hands regularly submerged in water, and even then it would probably be fine for a year or so. This widely accepted paranoia about water resistance is bizarre, particularly from people who work at a desk or on the road.
