Thing is, it’s fun and relaxing to think about clothes, as a useful thing that is also aesthetic and aspirational. We just don’t have to do it through shopping. Get a closet app and track the outfits you wear (and use the info for a video) or create new ones in there. Pin outfits on Pinterest that you can make with things you already own. Learn to sew so you can tailor second-hand items to get designer level style and fit. Etc. Your move sounds exciting. Lots to do there that will keep you busy. Hopefully it will be nice to be closer to family and back in Copenhagen (I’ve never been but it looks amazing). Looking forward to your future videos, whatever they’re about!
completely agree! and I have been using pinterest in the past couple of months for the first time and I’m embarrassingly obsessed😂 I can definitely recommend copenhagen as a place to visit, it’s such a small big city which makes it super cozy and a bit strange in comparison to other big cities since there are no really tall buildings in copenhagen. I’m very excited to move back home for sure! thank you, and thank you for watching! x
I really enjoyed watching your videos related to shopping/low buys. I too am an emotional shopper and struggle from time to time (I binge shop in waves, with periods of time where I buy considerably less). I read "To Buy or Not to Buy" by April Benson (clinical psychologist who specializes in shopping addictions) years ago and it helped me understand where this need to shop really comes from. I highly recommend it because as a reader she gives you a lot of exercises to work through. Good luck with your journey and thank you for sharing your story
Thank you so much for your kind words and wishing you good luck on your journey too 🥰 I definitely am still struggling with especially the guilt around purchases and just buying a lot in general still but it’s definitely not as bad as I feared now that I have a full time job! Still working on it though and making changes where I can - I might check out your book recommendation to get a bit of inspo/influence ☺️❤️
i think this mindset is great to work on no matter your income. Even when you have a job and could afford nice things when you feel the need to spend, doesnt mean its any better to buy them as opposed to when you have to plan to save up for things. I feel like this mindset is a good thing to work on as early as possible for lots of people!
I completely agree, that’s also part of what made me realize that it was something else I had to work on other than the shopping issue itself - if I had more money I would just buy more things
and i'm amazed at your ability of analyzing your own thinking, love to hear about your thoughts! i analyse my thinking all the time too, but usually i'm still out of control with my spending habits, unfortunately
thank you so much❤️ it’s definitely an ongoing project and I’m not really where I want to be yet either, but as long as we’re doing our best and moving forward I think that’s all that really can be asked of anyone
I loved this update! I’m glad you’ve been able to have some successful self reflection, that takes a lot of hard work and can be very mentally taxing. I really, really appreciate and admire your openness about this too. So, thank you for that :) I’ve pretty much given up on the low buy myself, for a lot of reasons, but it was for the best I think. I hope your move goes well!
Happy New Year! I would love if you would still do the videos about what you bought but I also understand if you decide not to do them. Your mental health should be top priority! That’s awesome that everything is working out for you to move back to Copenhagen. I hope that your move goes very smoothly with minimal stress. Honestly I don’t mind your brand videos at all. You do them in a way where they flow with the rest of your content. Have a great week!
I love this update and your transparency and self reflection ! I like the videos where you talk in depth about what you bought but I know that those can also be triggering to some people (they used to be for me !), so do whatever you feel like doing. :)
I love your hair at this length! I'm in search of a new therapist too. The hunt and the journey usually sucks and is all uphill for awhile. Glad you're chugging along. I love Copenhagen. I haven't been back in six years. Miss it so. Once you're settled you should think about doing vlogs :)
thank you!! it’s so hard to find the right therapist it takes up so much energy😓 I’ve actually always wanted to do vlogs but always kinda failed to do them for some reason - I’ll definitely try to make that happen🥰
