I really admire and appreciate you opening up about your mental health. I didn't think you were rambling at all! I can't help but relate, to be honest. I think my low buy kinda just got worse over time and now I've not made an update in a while after some realizations about my own mental health. You mentioning the low buy was sort of treating the symptoms, but not the cause of them has opened my eyes to my relationship with buying things.
I also love your book recommendations, they've lead me to some good reads!

Definitely get all the help you can. We can all use as much support and assistance as we can get. That said, I would at keep a few things in mind: everyone has a different 'baseline' for sadness and joy. Wherever you can feel content and still do what you need to do and what makes you glad is your baseline. Also, modern life makes it difficult to find community and purpose. In a way, shopping fills that void until we find opportunities for community and purpose where we can. Finally, the world has been in turmoil for a long time, especially the last two years. Feeling low is honestly a normal reaction to this level of upheaval. But obviously we should help each other and find help to get through it and grow as best we can. Wishing you good and even better things.
