Ok, as someone that has been to thailand and fought over there who has been in the sport for years upon years, this is what this bout was. In Thailand it is very common for gyms or promoters to pay thais to either throw fights or go very easy on the westerner that is looking for the fight, this is rarely ever told to the western fighter and they believe they are going into a real fight. These thais that are paid do this multiple times a week and most of them have way over 400 fights. They do this because of the betting culture, when foreigners go to Thailand and bet on muay thai, they almost always bet on the thai, most times they dont even allow you to bet on the westerner. Its a very corrupt place Not taking anything away from the creator but just letting you all know! :)
To the people who say "it don't look like a real fight or a friendly sparring" It's clear this wasn't meant to be a pro-level fight, he trained for only 90 days, and the preparation was more of a showcase than an intense training program. Just because it doesn’t match the Muay Thai you’re used to doesn’t mean it wasn’t genuine. It still took real effort to step into the ring
Sorry guys, this is not a "real fight" but neither is it "staged". The Thai fighter is NO BEGINNER, he is clearly very skilled and an older pro fighter and either understands his role, either he is told not to go all out, or decided himself it is an easy paycheck for a light fight.
a lot of Thai guys have that mentality I heard so it's not that far fetched to say the guy just doesn't go all out very often especially if they're old
Getting in the ring with someone at a Mauy Thai match has to be one of the hardest and scariest things a person can do, I have so much respect for him doing a sport that isn’t even his main sport and he did fabulous, good job 👍
Wow, Nat you really grew in my eyes right now. I've never disrespected karate in any way but whatever your style is, switching style and being able to hold your own against someone who moves in different patterns from what you are used to is a real test of fighting ability.
