So that'll be ready to wear, costume jewellery, home products, etc While I have seen people online say that they just told their local Hermes store what item they wanted and were able to purchase it within a few months, for the most part, it seems that you have to rock up tens of thousands on items you don't really want, in order to 'qualify' for the chance to buy a birkin or kelly

An Hermès bag is made in France by hand by one person trained tin the Hermès ateliers and it took at least a month . It’s not a factory it’s handcraft and rare . They don’t sell on line and the classics like Kelly and Birkin are reselling at least double the price …
I hate to break it to you. but all are handmade. we just value the labour in other poorer countries under horrid conditions not as much.... hermes still uses sewing machines for the fabric and all. there are other ethically made beautiful quality leather and good craftsmanship bags. from Europe or the US. for a fraction of the cost.

You need to build a really good relationship with your SA and depending on the bag you want you have to spend a lot of money on the brand and it takes YEARS to be offered a bag. If and when you do get offered a bag, it may not even be in the style, color, or material that you want it to be. Realistically speaking, a bag is a bag and you shouldn’t have to be offered to buy one. But I guess that’s what makes them so special, it’s that not just anyone can walk into an Hermès boutique and buy one to their liking.

When you’re making millions a 10k bag is no issue. And plus Hermes bags only go up in value so it isn’t a waste of money like someone buying a 100k Mercedes that loses 50k in value as soon as you drive it off the lot.

The only reason anybody would want one of those Hermes bags is for bragging rights. No mentally secure person would buy expensive bags like that. Only insecure people spend that kind of money on a purse. Think about it….there’s no reason to spend thousands of dollars on a designer purse, except to be able to brag about it, and try to impress people
There’s no reason to YOU, but there is a reason for her. How she spends her money isn’t anyone’s business just like how you would spend your money. She isn’t hurting anyone and if it makes her happy and she can clearly afford it, then good on her. No need to project your insecurities on others just because they can afford more than the average person. Just a thought :)

While I would never spend that kind of money for a bag. saying no mentally secure people would buy it and only insecure people buy it is one of the most ignorant things I’ve heard anyone say. You need to build a really good relationship with your SA and depending on the bag you want you have to spend a lot of money on the brand and it takes YEARS to be offered a bag. If and when you do get offered a bag, it may not even be in the style, color, or material that you want it to be. Realistically speaking, a bag is a bag and you shouldn’t have to be offered to buy one. But I guess that’s what makes them so special, it’s that not just anyone can walk into an Hermès boutique and buy one to their liking.
