As Venus always says, "to be successful you have to pay the price". They paid the price by spending so many hours at Compton Park. Look at them now, Oscar nominees! Proud of the whole family!
i remember driving by after work with my kids seeing you and your sister practicing at the park in Compton. We also lived in Compton too. Never knew you too would end up so great. I am proud of both of you.
Venus just repeating “so many hours” makes so much sense. She’s the best player the world’s ever seen and was the blueprint for Serena. It’s hard to fathom the amount of practice and training she endured since the age of 4…so many hours.
@Max E What does that have to do with her rank on the top ten list? That's where she is ranked. Why does it matter what you are saying? It is off topic to the list. She is ranked #8 on the all time list by most people. Occasionally #9. She's in the top ten regardless. Why are you on her channel? Are you that bored?
@Max E You are on this channel because you are obsessed with Venus. This is probably Maria's agent. I bet you are mad she is 12 or 13 on the all time list and Venus is 8 or 9, according to people like Evert, McEnroe and Navratilova.
I grew up in Compton. I was and am so very proud of you girls. Two little Black girls from Compton!!! Made me so very proud. I am a lot older than you, but the pride that I feel is real. Your family's focus and vision was everything! Thank you for always going back and NEVER hiding where you came from. ❤💯
Venus is very inspirational. She has a very calm demeanour and warmth to encourage a healthy competitive drive in the youngsters. Hearing the reflection on the time spent on the court, I had to replay and count the number of times the word Hours was mentioned. 😊 💖 ✌
Venus you were great with the children at your old elementary school. Isha should have her own talk show as she is a natural interviewer. Looking forward to the next part.
Actually, made me tear up especially because I was living in LA when the Williams sisters were becoming a household name in the early 90s. In fact my two nieces who were around the same ages as the sisters often got comments that they reminded people of the sisters. It's so amazing to see life unfurled and have a moment to look back. Im so proud of you girls. Blessings and more blessings abound to you and your family. For sure those long hours were blessings all wrapped up.
Wow... What memories. I was a neighbor of the Williams family. It's been amazing to see Richards prophecies come true. The only time you would see them was when they were either going to practice or coming from practice.
The hours definitely paid off. Seven singles grand slam for Venus not to mention Olympic success and twenty three slam singles for Serena. Your mum and dad and twenty twenty vision.
@Max E Oh Maxie,.you are missing the point! We all contribute to changing the world but some of us literally inspire. Our influence changes the world because of our very presence, we motivate others to pursue their God given talents. What a blessing these powerful women are. Many lives have been touched and changed for the good because of the Williams sisters. Maybe not in the way that you would have it, but we are all brothers and sisters. Imagine the impact we could have, if we all, pursed and achieved our dreams? The ripple effect of being a light onto the world. Just by being kind and kinder to one another, imagine how our world would change?

Venus I love how you encourage the kids and gone them words of motivation. That’s exactly what the kids need to here every single day to do well and become great humans. Thank you for that 🙏🏻👏🏻🌷💕😘
Oh Venus, love you girl. Can see the tears flowing for "ALL THOSE HOURS" spent on the tennis courts, imagine they were very hard for you; but my girl, look how far those hours brought you! You can say with pride " LOOK AT ME NOW" You have done very very well, yourself and sister Serena has been a great role model for youngsters all over the world, and give a great deal of pride to the elders. @@networth00 this may be difficult for you to understand but her achievements are way more important than getting with some male and popping out kids. Venus really loving these travel blogs. From Compton to Paris to Compton and all of the places in between. 🙏❤️. And you got to share the journey with your family.
Lovely video. The bit at the tennis courts was interesting. I’m reading it as Venus feels she missed out a little bit on being a child and thinks she probably could still have made it with a bit less tennis. Anyway, she’s a legend and it paid off.
I am glad you share this comment because a topic that disturbs me is how this generation of young people grow up feeling they a victim and blame their parents for being too hard strict or not letting them be a kid or so called sheltering them. What’s your thoughts on people like this versus
Versus women like the Williams who grow up never blaming their parents for being so strict or sheltering them as a reason to justify whatever bad choices or life they chose? William sisters and many top athletes had strict discipline lives growing up because they had a drive and dream and optimism. So they don’t whine
Very similar story what Janet said in her documentary. Everything seems so big and then when you come back, you realize your house was a 2 bedroom 800 sq ft
Thank you, for allowing us to see your past and a journey through your memories. I been a fan since you arrive on the tennis scene doing the 90s. Thanks again, Queen Venus.
Awesome, brilliant family, Love your family, apart of history, what could make you all more happier than that, you made it out and still able to play 💕
Sooo manyyy hoursss!!! Love this video with your sister revisiting your roots and how your family's journey began. Your tears said a lot to me. But Isha was right it was all worth it. Look at what you and Serena have accomplished after so many hours years ago. All the best in the continuation of your family's journey! And good luck at the Academy Awards ceremony!
Ms Venus I had the privilege to watched the video blogs which was quite enjoyable to watch. You and Serena certainly a great example of A Woman Of Subtance, " Beauty , Intelligence, Courage , Values , Determination,
Please share this on television so you can share this with the world!! This is what we should be talking about pertaining to the Oscar’s!! So sorry other circumstances have taken attention from those who’ve worked so hard leading up to the awards ceremony.

“So many hours, too many hours”, says a lot😢😢😢
Very similar story what Janet said in her documentary. Everything seems so big and then when you come back, you realize your house was a 2 bedroom 800 sq ft
Thank you, for allowing us to see your past and a journey through your memories. I been a fan since you arrive on the tennis scene doing the 90s. Thanks again, Queen Venus.
Inspirational Venus n motivational too. Good job for inspiring a generation
Oh Venus , I am in tears, I don't know why , oh this is so cool
Awesome, brilliant family, Love your family, apart of history, what could make you all more happier than that, you made it out and still able to play 💕
I love that Venus and Isha don’t forget from where they came and their sisterly love❤️
Team VI thank you!! Excited to see part 2
Going home bring so many emotions.. but home is home… love your big sister.. she is love…
These children are brilliant! Thanks to Venus for visiting her hometown.
"I think the hours paid off" ...bit of an understatement! :)
The two sisters interacting is so sweet and special. You are both inspiring.
Ms Venus I had the privilege to watched the video blogs which was quite enjoyable to watch. You and Serena certainly a great example of A Woman Of Subtance, " Beauty , Intelligence, Courage , Values , Determination,
Venus, those hours paid off, lil sis! I thank you for those hours!!!!
It is really special that you went back. This brought me to tears.
Please share this on television so you can share this with the world!! This is what we should be talking about pertaining to the Oscar’s!! So sorry other circumstances have taken attention from those who’ve worked so hard leading up to the awards ceremony.
I love this. I grew up in Compton, so that will always be home. Grateful that we still own our childhood home and I can drive by and reminisce of my childhood.
I am getting so emotional watching this video! I can feel the love, hard work and resilience you all put in to make your hopes and dreams possible 💕 God is good
Wow. I thoroughly enjoyed this Venus! I really wished Serena would’ve been able to do this tour with you but it was nice to see Isha enjoy the journey. I was expecting to go inside of the house as well in Compton to get that tour as well, but all in all it was truly special. Thank you!
I'm loving how often you are posting on UA-cam now 🥰 can't wait for part 2! 😄
