We used little earth magnets to mount the strips to the gutter few times . Works perfect and makes install so easy .

Yep, the plasterers strip stuff is magnetic so we have rare earth magnets as well as the brick clips. Although it doesn't really hold them up when its windy they were really good at keeping things in position.
