I'm really happy with where deathcore is going. Shadow of Intent, Lorna Shore, Slaughter to Prevail, Darko US, Angelmaker, etc.

One thing I've noticed is that if you don't like Lorna shore for any reason you're suddenly a gatekeeper. Is it nice a "deathcore" band is successful? Yea absolutely.
Can I not like them and also not be a gatekeeper? Absolutely, but it's gotten to the point where their fans are incredibly obnoxious

Didn't SS used to say that though? "We're not deathcore we're a metal band." Even though they had a lot of deathcore sound.

I’m a huge fan of deathcore, it’s the lyrics that get to me because I am a man of God now. I literally was just listening too Graveside Confessions, bad ass song. But how does that message relay to our youth? What positivity can I get from that besides the instruments?
I get that things can be seen in different perspectives. However people that say art doesn’t influence their lives are wrong. It absolutely does influence our lives. In fact most if not all artists were inspired, by the art, to become what they become.
Everyone is free to write what they choose, however I don’t believe this music would be healthy on a large scale for everyone. Reason being is I believe a lot of people would take very negative energies from it and apply it to their life. The content and music itself screams (literally) “Not for the faint of heart.” And also requires a mind that’s used to analyzing things that are more complex than most of what they are used too. From the music to the lyrics, it’s extremely complex. And can also be very dangerous. Especially if people sing along and take the words to heart. That can cause serious damage within one’s life that can then rub off onto others.
It’s easy to say “Well you’re misinterpreting the lyrics.”
When you wrote them, however if someone sees “Death, depression, kill, fuck it all, die, hatred.” What do you think will happen?

Most people don't care I really believe it's just the screaming and guttural and hardcore aspect of the genre it can't really expand at all. You're not gonna convince the world who largely likes clean vocals like pop and rap to like some of the heaviest genres of music.

If you think that's the case, go listen to Impending Doom, Unseen Faith, With Blood Comes Cleansing and Eyes of The Defiled

Deathcore needed the time to melt on the tounge, or more like people needed to build up a taste like with spiced wine. I listened to Deathcore and Metalcore when it came out and then started to dislike it, only listened to bands like Lorelei here and there... I became a annoying Metal-Elitist.
So, since "Djent" became a thing, my taste developed and grew closer to Core and now since around 2017 Core has really reached me.
I even kinda miss the Scene-kids, I should have been more chill about Core back then... FFS.
