They still trade up against 3/3s, but they die just as well to Spider Tank and Ogre Brute, as well as the less common 2/4s like Illuminator and Goblin Sapper.In addition, they suck against Shielded Minibot and Glaivezooka, along with all the other things that killed them in the past (Backstab, Stormforged Axe, Holy Smite). 2/3s didn't get any better since GvG, but because 3/2s got worse, it gives the feeling that 2/3s are now better, though in actuality both just suck now (but you gotta have 'em). I am of course, talking about arena.
The popularity of Rogue and Shielded Minibot makes 2 health somewhat iffy. Follow that up with Mech having good options with good amounts of health and you'll see why 2 health and 3 health are very different now.

Everyone thought it was rubbish because Warsong Commander wouldn't have given summoned Grim Patrons Charge, only the first one you played from your hand. Then when BRM came out they fixed Warsong Commander so it works with summoned minions too, and that made Grim Patron awesome. So they were correct, the card WAS going to be terrible.
There were alot of cards that create new styles of decks in Blackrock. Gangup rogue and Millions of Patrons warrior are just two that immediately popped up. There could be more stupid stuff incoming :D
I have to say thanks for the deck list in this one. I've never had a good enough collection to build the traditional control warrior, but this is one I could afford almost right away. I had to substitute Rampage for the Shout, an Egg for the Pyromancers and Inventors for the Acolytes, but even with those changes it's still working pretty well for me. I've been wanting to play more combo-based play styles with other classes, and this card finally gives me the means. :) Thanks for highlighting it!

+Muffin It's a tough one. It's a basic card, so a 3 cost 3/3 with text does seem slightly OP for that. But considering how crap the text is, I feel like either is justified. 3 cost 3/3 or 3 cost 2/3 with a doubled attack bonus.

Already wondered why this vid didn't show up earlier, Grim Patron was the obvious "fun to play around" card in BRM and we all know Kripp loves that kind of card regardless of it being good or bad in the end.
This card also works incredibly well with the bombers. Because you can have a lot them they have a better chance of getting hit, so for example you can do grim patron, inner rage, +either bomber --> you can get 2-5 guzzlers for 6 mana.
Also one big problem wit the guzzlers is that their effect prcs before any minions die. So if you have a full deck then you can't spawn anymore with one damage event. So if you have a deck of 2/3 and 3/3 guzzlers then if someone concecrates you will end up with just the surviving 1/3 guzzlers and no new spawns. So it can be dangerous

That's why Ancestral spirit would be good, it would allow patron to spawn another patron when he dies, which makes area of effect less good against Patron.
Yes I'm well aware it is a *neutral* card, I said *at heart* it is a warrior card, as you'll mostly see it in warrior decks, due to the fact that most of the crazy combos work with warrior cards (warsong commander, inner rage, death's bite and whirlwind to name a few.)
Yeah works best with warrior. Had some fun with it on priest though. If you pull off a combo with pyro, fill the board with patrons and the enemy manages to clear it, there's a good chance you can get another for 2 mana with resurrect. It's not really consistent, but managed to pull it off a few times. Definitely works best in warrior decks.
I personal like slam because you can use it on a fresh patron and get another patron and a card. It is effectively getting a 3/3 for 2 and draw a card. It also has its other uses but that's what I like it for.
i guess it´s a little bit like Boom if it gets to good people will start using more counters (the new warrior card could be a thing you can use it if you are winning to pump your patrons or if you get overrun you can use it to wipe out your enemys patrons)

I don't know if it's worth playing 2 inner rage, for sure 1, just for grim patron. I find it's much better in my testing to play 2x whirlwind instead, since it impacts the entire board, triggering all your enrage/ enrage-esque effects AND hits their 1 health guys, too.
When i opened this video all I thought was "nice 29 minutes of mispronouncing patron" but of course Kripperino listens to his fans. Hats off to Kripp. Not enough big name youtubers even listen to feedback anymore, they just throw the video out (usually have different people edit it/upload it). i lost to a grim patron deck once my opponent plays a grim patron on an empty board. i dont have an instant clear for it and i made the mistake of having a 1 attack minion. i lost. this sure was a fun game.
26:51 that was a mispaly. You could have first traded the full health grimpatron, and then attacked with your deaths bite, (this way you would have killed one more minion and had same amount of charge ready grimpatron on board.
Man, I knew it. It's amazing the number of people that were saying 'Mage, Mage!' about this card. I was like, dude, we already have enrage warriors. They're already pretty decent. Literally just put this in and they're going off. Build a deck around it and there you go. But that warsong really sends it over the limit.
best card so far, won me so many games, floods the board nicely, only counter i seen (other than mage) is hunter with unleash due to damage output (with attack buff wolf)
Man when it works its so much fun.Had 1 armorsmith, 1 patron, 1 berseker,1 grim patron, 1 warsong and 1 acolyte at some point lol and I whirwind ;p It was pretty even earlier when I had 2 acolytes and a pyromancer, think with shout I drew like 10 cards of em ;p But tried it vs a mage, boom flamestrike.Works best vs priests me thinks, so far. Btw as a druid (or any class) the best thing you can do is silence that warsong so they at least aint charge.
I just realized Well first off, the warsong commander "patch" doesnt make sense to be because im pretty sure spawned minions arent summoned as most other cards work, like how patron warrior didnt work during the "taunt and charge" tavern brawl, and i also think keeping the card bug would have kept warsong commander from being the garbage it is today, although i havent played it with the bug so i dont know exactly how it worked before the patch
I find it fun to comeback and see all the broken decks backs in the day... i really wish they didn't nerf warsong commander and implement the standard format.... then tournaments and stuff would be actually interesting... back in the day watching a guy play around patron warrior then winning was so much fun.. but now decks are "fair" "interactive" ... all they are now are just rushing down your opponent with your fucking darkshire councilmen and then finishing of with leeroy and P.O.E combo
Once you have all the grim patrons on the board, you should win in not much turns, so I think its a good card, but I thinj that shouldnt be tried to be abused (ie, dont try to get 6 card draws when you have the patrons, just get 2 with the armorsmith and something if needed)
Mind control on the grim patron was absolutely hilarious to see. Personally, I think Grim Patron is one of the most overpowered cards in the game, but it makes for some good fun sometimes.

i found that grim patron worked pretty well in freeze mage. if you can lock them down with freezes (rogue / warrior) it becomes too hard to heal with,

Man when it works its so much fun.Had 1 armorsmith, 1 patron, 1 berseker,1 grim patron, 1 warsong and 1 acolyte at some point lol and I whirwind ;p It was pretty even earlier when I had 2 acolytes and a pyromancer, think with shout I drew like 10 cards of em ;p But tried it vs a mage, boom flamestrike.Works best vs priests me thinks, so far.
Btw as a druid (or any class) the best thing you can do is silence that warsong so they at least aint charge.

EVERYONE is running this deck, and I took advantage of it to make a good control mage with flamestrike that beats it pretty bad :D
Isn't grim patron also pretty good for warlock? turn 5 patron, turn 6 dread infernal?

Well first off, the warsong commander "patch" doesnt make sense to be because im pretty sure spawned minions arent summoned as most other cards work, like how patron warrior didnt work during the "taunt and charge" tavern brawl, and i also think keeping the card bug would have kept warsong commander from being the garbage it is today, although i havent played it with the bug so i dont know exactly how it worked before the patch

I find it fun to comeback and see all the broken decks backs in the day... i really wish they didn't nerf warsong commander and implement the standard format.... then tournaments and stuff would be actually interesting... back in the day watching a guy play around patron warrior then winning was so much fun.. but now decks are "fair" "interactive" ... all they are now are just rushing down your opponent with your fucking darkshire councilmen and then finishing of with leeroy and P.O.E combo

Commanding shout amazing in this deck, as it also draws a card. Amazingly fun to play deck, but the chance you run out of steam is really high
Once you have all the grim patrons on the board, you should win in not much turns, so I think its a good card, but I thinj that shouldnt be tried to be abused (ie, dont try to get 6 card draws when you have the patrons, just get 2 with the armorsmith and something if needed)

Mind control on the grim patron was absolutely hilarious to see.
Personally, I think Grim Patron is one of the most overpowered cards in the game, but it makes for some good fun sometimes.
In this video we can see kriparino destroying the life of every person creating the grim patron deck, he seems happy now but he doesnt know the consequences 5 months later. gg krip
